I just literally read the last page of this book and wanted to sit down to write a review. This is the final book in the Jane Hawk Series and I was very pleased with the closure Dean Koontz gave to the storyline and characters in this final installment. The book brings together some characters from the past and is as fully engaging and suspenseful as all of the other books in this series. I kept wondering how on earth could this story end in any way, except with bittersweet triumph of good over evil. Dean Koontz gave us the perfect ending to this story. There are some books (series) that are written that somehow just stay with you and this series is definitely one of them for me. Thank you, Dean Koontz, for another great book/series!

What a kick ass strong character so sorry to see the end. Even if you haven't read the whole series this books gives you enough background to know what has been happening.

It makes sense to add new characters to keep the story of Jane Hawk and her fight against the Techno Arcadians who have developed a nano technology that can control the minds of individuals and make them subservient. Jane’s husband was killed in the first novel of this series and in this final one, it all comes to a head. I have enjoyed the previous four and this one also. There are some subplots going on which made me not want to put the book down to see how it all plays out. Enjoyable and intense, and hate to see this series end. But all good things must come to an end.

This is the fifth book in the Jane Hawk series. Jane, an FBI agent will take you on a wild ride in this contemporary thriller. Fast-paced, it's full of action, danger, and suspense. Warning, once you begin this book you'll find it hard to put down. This book is the climax to the series. I read a copy via Net Galley and voluntarily chose to review.

A great ending to this fantastic series. I recommend this series to my customers who love Lee Child and most have come back to read the series, it's that good! Jane Hawk is just as good as Jack Reacher!

Thank you netgalley for the opportunity to review this book free for my honest opinion.
I was immediately swept into the story of Jane Hawk FBI agent on the run and trying to save her career, her life and the world from evil villains virtually in the highest of offices in government and law enforcement who have taken over the minds of innocent people by injecting them with nanoweapons, with help from a sweet admirer who is also one heck of a computer genius and his very loving family they must stay alive long enough to figure out how to stop the evil from encompassing the world making humans mindless tools of death. This book doesn't disappoint it will keep you interested to the end.

Dean Koontz has an imagination that is deep and full, much as a city’s drinking water reservoir. An endless supply of story lines, characters, anecdotes, situations, and descriptive phrases are there for the dipping, and he goes to the well repeatedly, as evidenced by the immense number of novels he has penned. “The Night Window,” his latest, has just been released, and I found the waters a little muddled, not as fresh and sparkling as I would like.

As usual, Koontz has an immense cast of characters. Their roles are widely strewn and evasive. Heroine Jane Hawk seems a little out of sort and not as shrewd as she has been in prior situations. This particular disturbance, a continuation of an earlier theme, involves thousands of humans from all over the world who have been injected with a neural virus that puts them under the control of evildoers. The affected include movers and shakers from government and law enforcement making any legal control of the dastardly plot impossible, unless the mindbenders command it. It’s all very confusing and even more implausible.

I can live with implausibility in my reading. In fact, I applaud it as long as I’m not being made the fool. I actually felt fatuous at some points in Koontz’s story, pleading for more plausible dialogue and events. If it weren’t for Koontz’s talent and history, I would have never completed the book. Koontz fans, as obviously I’m not, will, probably, receive this book with great fervor, and good on ‘em.

Oh, I was sorry to see this one end! Jane and her unconventional band of protectors will touch your heart and make you slightly less cynical about human nature, Of course delving too deeply into the nefarious Arcadian group will give new meaning to "adjusted". Great introduction of new intergral characters. Found myself rooting for Tom Buckle and loved Vikram. Beautifully written and all to believable.

SPOILER ALERT. This was a roller coaster through a sociopathic nightmare. I couldn’t put it down and had started writing notes to help me tie up my readings. In this installment, Families new and initiated were entwined in a Jules Verne forever after which included a satisfying but melancholic ending. There was sufficient closure; unfortunately I personally needed a little bit more. The main antagonist was sufficiently eliminated by his own chaos intervention. Others who had been instrumental from the beginning in the brutal suicides and torture, well......... I don’t want this full of spoilers but the author tied it up in a neat little bow that would have left me and the good guys looking over my shoulders. Maybe there was enough killings and decided that it wouldn’t benefit the storyline. The whole idea of a great story is to make us think and grow. The Night Window exceeded this goal and made me weep. Kudos to Dean Koontz who knows how to make us seem better than we are.

Just the way it is:

I am not big on female leads because they are always "overpowered"

I am not much on serial/series because the writing always tails off

Yet here I am reviewing #5 and I liked them all. Yes Jane is "wonder-womanish" at times and DK still tries 'pretty prose' in spots that slows the pace to a crawl but the Techno-Arcadians are easy to hate and the action for the most part is good and the climax makes up for any negatives. I think you will enjoy this one, now if we can only get DK to write a standalone. . . . .

This was such an amazing series and I am so sad that it has finished. I think it would make a terrific movie! This was a rare book which pulled me in from the very first page and kept me pulled in all through the book. It all started when Jane Hawk’s husband killed himself, for no obvious reason. He and Jane adored each other and their small son. Jane was an FBI agent, determined to find the reason for her husband’s death and eventually went “rogue”. She discovered people were injected with a serum that sent nano-machines to their brain and they were then controlled by their ‘master’. Jane was always on the run, but making headway in discovering those responsible who often were individuals in the government, both federal and civic. Jane’s son was in hiding with responsible and trustworthy people. Along the way Jane meets people who help her, because they can see the truth in her and do not believe the media who talk of her as a beautiful monster who killed her husband and probably her son. Jane inspires loyalty and deep friendship in those who believe in her and this brought tears to my eyes. Those close to her were willing to give their lives to help Jane.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I thoroughly enjoyed this final book of the series. I’ve loved the whole series, but especially this final installment. I do not want to spoil anything, so if you’ve read the rest of the series than you should definitely read this one!

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing for the ARC, it was an honor and a privilege.

This is the fifth and last book in the series. If you are looking to get this book, you must already know that it is a series, one which I feel must be read in order. There is SOOOO much I want to say about this book, but I do not want to spoil it for anyone who is an avid reader of the Dean Koontz Jane Hawk series. One thing I can say is that when you finish this book, the story is over. Jane has taken up with another very lovable and strange character who I think, from the way the book ended, almost had to be pulling at her heart strings. I don’t recall chuckling at any time in this book. Too much serious stuff to be giggling about anything! The writing is so spectacular; it takes no effort at all to put myself right into the action. I was so worried as I read. Would I be devastated or would I be happy when it’s over or would I just be relieved? As I’ve come to find, no one individual is ever immune to death in the Jane Hawk series.

Back in 2017 we were introduced to Jane Hawk in The Silent Corner. And now with the highly awaited fifth and final installment, #TheNightWindow, we find out how it all ends. Wow! What a ride. Glad to finally know how everything gets wrapped up yet somewhat sad to see this action-packed, couldn’t put it down journey come to its exciting conclusion.

Jane, a former FBI Agent, is trying to save the world from the Arcadians’ mind controlling nano technology. Invasion of the Body Snatchers was always a favorite movie so this story line had me hooked from the start. The entertaining cast of characters, both heroes and bad guys, made for an enjoyable adventure.

Thanks to #NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an unbiased review.

I was anxious about how Dean Koontz was going to conclude this series. The final book is non-stop action, flipping from Jane to her son to some new characters. I liked how Koontz wrapped up the story, leaving us with hope for the future.

Jane Hawk and her small contingent of faithful friends are trying to stop the Arcadians from taking over humanity. Jane is a former FBI agent gone rogue. She knows her time is running out. She needs to stop what is happening. The Arcadians could be anyone. In high places or low. Their goal is to enslave humanity and have them do their bidding. All they have to do is insert a nanoweb by shot into their brain. That person is then in the hands of the Arcadians, ready to do their bidding, no matter what.
Dean Koontz had written another spectacular story. He is an exceptional author no easily outdone by any other. His stories have depth, feeling, and strength of characters and storyline.
Excellent!!

Review Amazing finale! This is the 5th installment of the "Jane Hawk" series. This is another relentless, non-stop thriller featuring the rogue FBI agent, Jane Hawk. Jane's badass temperament, determination and investigative prowess continues to shine through each novel. This fifth and last journey in this marvelous series contains sufficient backstory for even a new reader to enjoy as a standalone. ... however the reader cannot help but to delve into the earlier books to experience the full and detailed journey as Jane attempts to expose the secret cabal operating independently amongst our government and private business sector.
Jane has "gone off the grid" to investigate the inexplicable suicide of her beloved husband and war hero. Her coast to coast investigation has uncovered intel pointing to a cabal of highly placed people responsible for these events. Their ultimate goal is to remake our nation into a "desirable" utopia. They rely on a computer model to target "undesirable" individuals in the arts, sciences, journalism, academia, politics and military for placement on their "Hamlet List' ... to be either "adjusted" and controlled or be eliminated by suicide. Those on the list are injected with a nanomachine which ultimately crosses the blood-brain barrier and sets up a weblike interface on the brain that allows their control like a mindless marionette. And, much like the chilling book "The Manchurian candidate" ... control is activated by a spoken statement ..." Play Manchurian with me"
The intricate narrative switches from Janes's relentless struggle to defeat and expose the frightening cabal of Techno Arcadians to an independent director's struggle to survive a "manhunt" in which he is the prey ... and pursued relentlessly in a blizzard by the obviously insane and demonic multi-billionaire who is the mastermind of the Arcadians and their chilling vision of the future.
This wonderfully plotted and character driven novel is impossible to put down ... I found myself reading faster and faster as the tension ratchets up to near bursting levels. Thanks to Netgalley and Bantam Books / Penguin Random House for driving an Uncorrected Proof of this gem in exchange for an honest review

Dean Koontz does it again. The Night Window is the final installment in the Jane Hawk saga. As always Koontz does a great job of including enough detail so we can actually picture what his going on while also leaving enough to the imagination that we don't feel like we are being told exactly what to see. Unfortunately, the tale told in this series could actually become a reality as the overly rich and powerful continue to control the lives of the reminder of the country. I love the nod to Invasion of the Body Snatchers with a modern twist. Some may have difficulty with the back and forth between the intertwined yet separate plot lines. I loved how everything seemed so separate yet you knee they would eventually come together. I really felt empathy for so many of the characters and was rooting for them. I also loved how the past came back to help save the day in some unexpected ways. The ending was actually fresh and surprising. I grew up racing Dean Koontz and still love his writing to this day. Can't wait to read his next book.
I received a free ARC copy through NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

Dean Koontz has given us a stunning, riveting conclusion to his Jane Hawk series of novels. As Jane continues in her quest to bring down the Arcadians, her beloved son Trevor and his current guardians are also in danger. Can she save them, along with all those who have helped her along the way? Koontz does not disappoint and brings all the threads of his novels to a satisfying end, in the way that only he can. An excellent, though unsettling series from the brilliant author. Thank you to Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine Bantam, the author and NetGalley for an ARC of this novel.
