What a delightful and instruction book - Llewellyn's Little Book of Tarot is the kind of book everyone should own if they are interested in learning about the tarot.

It includes a full-color guide on how to use the 78-card deck. Great tips and activities make this a must-have!

I love this publisher’s books. They are always so very informative. This book was no different. Abundance of information, easy to read and understand. Thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for the arc of this book in return for my review. Receiving the book in this manner had no bearing on this review.

Super helpful for someone who wants to get back into their tarot readings! It's helped to guide me since I got started at a new job where metaphysical knowledge is necessary; I forgot some initial things ad Barbara Moore helped fill in the blanks.

Excellent pocket book for beginner tarot. I personally have experience with tarot, but found myself learning a few new things. It will be an excellent start for someone just getting into reading, and also a great refresher for experienced folks.

I am completely new to tarot cards so I can safely say that this is the perfect book for beginners. Each card and symbol is broken down so perfectly and there's a lot of encouragement to trust yourself and let the cards guide you. Would definitely recommend to people who know nothing about tarot.

I absolutely loved Llewellyn's Little Book of Tarot! It is a wonderful introduction to tarot with no need for a physical tarot deck to learn as there is a full set contained within the pages of the book. Each tarot card page has the card illustration on one side and informations and details about he card on the other side. There is so much wonder and information contained with in the pages of this book. I highly recommend it to anyone who is curious about tarot or wants to learn more.

I know that I can count on Llewellyn to publish books that are informative and useful and easy to read. The Little Book of Tarot was no exception.
I enjoyed the clear explanations of the cards. This book is an excellent primer to add to a person's body of knowledge about Tarot.

As the case of every book of Llewellyn's I read, this one was just as magnificent!
They have the best authors with them, that help us understand it so much more and better!
Tarot is something that I'm trying to learn and understand better, and Moore's writing helped so much to learn! I can't help but go back to some thing or other from time to time, to see if my understanding of it gets better the more I learn of it from around my research and reads!

This book had some average card meanings, not the best and not the worst I’ve seen. What I did really appreciate is how many different tarot decks were shown as the illustrations for various cards. That was unique and interesting to see.

I'm a beginnger tarot reader and Moore's guide was extremely helpful and engaging. The descriptions for, and the intended meanings of, Major and Minor Arcanas were detailed and easy to follow. I enjoyed the fact that at the end of each description, there was a small paragraph that stated the quick and easy answer, if needed. I also enjoyed the variety of cards displayed; most guides use the Rider Waite set, which is fine, but it's nice to see what else is out there.

I'm a newbie to tarot but have always been interested. This book was a great introduction and I look forward to buying a physical copy.

I think everyone is curious about the possibility of knowing the future and this book gives great insight into the reading of Tarot cards. This is book 8 in Llewellyn's Little book series and is certainly stand alone. Lots of good illustration and easy to follow steps when using various layouts. The book is very basic and very much written for beginners. It gives a little history and art lesson also. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

A cute but powerful book on understanding the Tarot. The information is presented in a clear and concise manner which allows for easy assimilation of information. Moore presents an in-depth history of the tarot. This book is a great "pocket" book on the Tarot one can carry anywhere easily.

This small book is a fun introduction that gets you thinking about tarot in different ways, whether you're a novice or more experienced. Its structure is simple, much like you would believe, with early sections on the history of the tarot as well as structure and symbolism. The bulk of the book is about the cards themselves, a page for each, naturally divided into the major and minor arcana. The book ends with a section on how to do readings and layouts and is followed by one about other activities you can do with them. The book has a fantastic further reading section, listing both classic and newer books on tarot, where she not only gives the book title and author but also a sentence about the book's topic. The table of contents is helpful because it gives the page numbers of all the different extra information in the book, like the tips, prompts, and exercises.

For each of the card pages, there is a picture from a contemporary tarot deck and keywords with a paragraph or two about the card in general followed by either an exercise, tarot tips, information about symbolism, or a journal prompt. Each page about a card ends with a line or two that will give you an instant answer if you use the book for bibliomancy, where you flip open to a random page of a book for an answer to a simple question. There are eight exercises altogether, including the bibliomancy mentioned above, figuring out your birth card, choosing a card of the day, journaling with tarot, and creating affirmations. There are 41 tarot tips scattered throughout the book. The topics range widely, as you might imagine from the number of them. Sometimes she talks about groups of cards, like the court cards; other times, she discusses working with the tarot, like what to do when cards are confusing or working with reversals (if you choose) and negative meanings. The symbolism tips sometimes focus on a very specific element in a specific card, like the Fool’s dog, or a specific card’s symbolism more in-depth. The symbolism of abstract notions like grief or justice is also addressed. The journal prompts are, as you might imagine, based on the particular card it is attached to, like mother issues for the Empress and rebirth for Judgment.

I really liked having exposure to so many contemporary tarot decks. While I own quite a few, as I've studied the tarot for over 30 years, I'm not as familiar with what's currently available as I might be. Some of these decks are quite beautiful, and I might have to research a few to add to my collection. Having worked with the tarot for so long, I was surprised that this little book actually had me thinking about my work with the cards differently at times. Some concepts were wholly new to me, like using different decks for different types of questions or readings. I might have to try that. I liked her brief descriptions of the cards; it is clear the author has studied tarot wide and deep, and her viewpoint on it is very open and uplifting. I will definitely be incorporating some of her ideas into how I use my cards.

In all, I found this to be a delightful little book that will spark many an idea and insight into my work with the tarot.

By no means I am a novice reader, but also I am not an expert either. I use the tarot card mainly for close friends and family member, and ofc myself. Lately, I was such in a rut. It's difficult for me to connect with the cards, and the information coming from (many) youtube channels I follow was overwhelming at best. I began to question whether just knowing the card was enough, or do I need to study the constellations, elements, how to calculate birth chart, and what freakin planet is ruling now.

In short, I feel so clueless.

Enter Llewellyn's Little Book of Tarot that was simple, easy to understand, and it had this sentence about not needing to understand everything (yet). Hence I had a very nice time reading it and re-learning what I learned in the past.

A great book to start learning Tarot, easy to use. The explanation on each cards are easy to understand and clear, that's not the case for all tarot book where there's too much information perfect for a beginner.

A great resource for those who are learning and are interested in tarot. This goes deeper than other basic tarot books and gives a more in-depth look for beginners.

I’m fairly new to tarot cards, over the last few months or so, and this was about the 7th or 8th book I’ve read so far on the subject. I’ve been reading rune stones for a lot longer and have no trouble with them, but for some reason tarot cards just weren’t “clicking” with me … until I read this book. The author does a GREAT job explaining different ways to read the cards in a way that finally made sense so that I “got it”. Something about the way she writes just really worked for me. She explains different sorts of readings you can do, how cards paired together relate to each other in interpretations, gives very detailed explanations on what each and every card can mean (hers was one of the best I’ve read so far regarding this), and gives extra tips and exercises one can do to get familiar with the cards if one is a beginner. She also shows examples of a wide variety of card decks so that it’s not all just based on one type of deck that is most popular. This can be helpful if you haven’t chosen a deck yet so that you can see samples and how easy they would be to read. I can see myself using this book as a guide even as an advanced reader. Great investment for any tarot card reader in my opinion.

(Sorry for possible English mistakes)
As expected this book is excellent. I love this kind of books where you can choose just one tarot card or topic at will and explore it. Theory and advices are presented in one lucid way. Depictions of the cards are accurate and simple. This book is also very practical. Almost instantly one can do bibliomancy divination with nothing else except this book (physical copy maybe needed for this). This is an interesting book in which you will learn about tarot in a nutshell. Thanks LLewellyn and NetGalley for allowing me to look inside this book and review it accordingly.
