YA is my favorite genre, so I was primed to love this book. I love how dramatic the story was, and an instant love connection always gets me! Very similar vibe to The Princess Diaries!!!

A great quick read, I enjoyed both the storyline and all the characters, it kept me intrigued throughout the story, was fun to read!

I loved this.
And I hope to see a lot more of this type of YA fiction.
It's the teen equivalent of 'chic lit' (and I mean that in the best way possible)...it's a fun, funny, romantic read, with a great sassy main character.
We seem to inundated with fantasy for teens or very serious dark reads...so this was a real pleasure...perfect escapist reading.

I found this book boring and a challenge to read. The storyline made minimal sense and the whole gay princess storyline while trying to be forward thinking was something that made me confused. I found the characters unlikeable and while I did finish it, I struggled in places.

Tilly Maguire and the Right Royal Wedding Mess by Emma Grey is a delightful contemporary full of drama. I must admit, I did struggle through getting through the beginning of the novel but once you get more into the novel you start caring about what’s playing out and the eventful journey Tilly goes through. Grey’s writing style is fun and easy to read, it lets you jump right into the plot and you feel as though these characters are your friends.

After the slow pacing of the first few chapters, I flew through the novel extremely quickly and loved every minute of it. I must admit I was rather sad when the novel ended and I had to leave these characters alone. I really couldn’t put down this novel and I recommend it to all lovers of romance and young adult contemporaries. At times I did struggle with the protagonist, Tilly Maguire, something about some of the decisions she was making just irked me the wrong way which is the main reason why I didn’t rate this book 5 stars.
I’m extremely keen to read other works by Grey in the future! I’m keen to get my hands on ‘Unrequited’ and I’ll look out for any upcoming novels she puts out in the future. Overall, I recommend this book to all chicklit, romance lovers. If you’re not into that genre I think you’ll have a hard time loving this book because it doesn’t take itself seriously.

Unapologetically swoon-worthy, yet powerfully (dare I say) feminist in its characterisation of the main character, Tilly Maguire and the Royal Wedding Mess presented an independent, strong female lead that had me gushing. Tilly may've be an (ex)major fan of the main love interest, pop-star, Reuben Vaughan, but that didn't mean she was going to collapse at his feet, something which I really respected in her character. Sure, the story is unequivocally romantic, over-the-top (in the best possible way) and just plain dramatic (with a capital 'd', if you insist), but somehow it didn't feel, stale or cliche. With LGBT+ and mental health representation, plus an Australian main character (yay!), TMATRWM was more substantial than just your usual 'fluffy' read. An amazing book that I have already begun ambushing my friends with, Tilly Maguire and the Right Royal Wedding Mess would be perfect for fans of Geek Girl and The Princess Diaries.

I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher in return for an honest review.

Girl meets Pop Star in this well written YA fiction.
Emma Grey has a fantastic writing style that seems to enhance the budding romance and drama of the stories that she weaves.

I'm not a reviewer that likes to rehash the plot while letting you know how I liked or disliked a book, so if you want to know what this book is about have a look here on Goodreads.

Tilly is an endearing character who you can't help but like and Reuben, our leading man is almost your typical YA male with a rough exterior and heart of gold but he also has an edginess to him that enhances his character.

Thos is a great read that I recommend to anyone who loves The Princess diaries.

**Thank you to Netgalley and Harper Collins AU for the chance to read this book in return for my honest review.**

4.5 Stars.

I'm SOLD.
This was an absolute hoot of a novel, and the romantic in me was buzzing.
Quick history of me: I was a HUGE fan of The Princess Diaries, and I've read over 2000 shoujo manga. Short story: This book was right down my alley!

When I started reading about Tilly I had mixed feelings because, a) I was brought back to my Princess Diaries days and the hilarious narrative of my old pal, Amelia Mignonette Grimaldi Thermopolis Renaldo and, b) I was worried that it was going to turn into a manic-pixie-dream girl-thing.
I quickly realised that yes, "a" was a good thing and I was in fact digging this realisation. And my original thought that was "b" wasn't correct, so I was a ball of joy.

Tilly Maguire was a welcome mess.
In fact, I was swept up in the whole drama of E V E R Y T H I N G. I was so ready for all of the craziness and drama (which is usually not my thing) and I was rooting for all of my couplings to get together.
My only issue with my reading of this book was the fact that I didn't realise there was already another book with some of the same characters already out! At this realisation (which I had made partway through the book when I started going through all of the author's past works), I immediately put 'Unrequited' on hold. I am ecstatic to say the least, to get to live in this world a little longer.

Would I recommend this book? Y E S. If you want some positivity in your life, this book is undoubtedly for you.
