This anthology of four Amish novellas centers around reuniting with those you love. Their True Home by Amy Clipston: Marlene Baswell was in the deepest of mourning for her beloved mother when she moved away from Bird-in-Hand ten years ago. She and her family have moved back so that her father can seek employment after being laid off. To help with her family's expenses, Marlene works at the hardware store owned by Rudy Swarey's father. She knew Rudy when they were both children and she didn't really think very highly of him because he had been immature. But, once she starts to realize how much Rudy has matured, her life is turned upside down once again. It can be very difficult to put side old opinions about a person and see how much they have grown and changed. It can be one of the drawbacks to living in a small community. Marlene wasn't originally taking into consideration that she had been away for ten years and didn't really know Rudy anymore or the things he has experienced. Amy captures this dilemma quite well in her novella as she shows Rudy and Marlene getting to know each other again after a decade apart. Amy has definitely become one of my favorite writers, particularly for times when I'm stressed out and need a distraction. A Reunion of Hearts by Beth Wiseman: Elizabeth and Gideon Beiler have experienced one of the most tragic events that you can experience. They found themselves unable to move past their grief, so they abandoned their Amish faith and went in different directions. Even though they both went their separate ways, neither one of the could bring themselves to formally dissolve the marriage. When both of their families reach out to them about coming home for a family reunion, Elizabeth has reason to believe that Gideon had declined the invitation. Gideon, on the other hand, was under the impression that Elizabeth had declined. All of their family and friends are hoping that they'll get back together, but they aren't sure that they're going to be able to see past their grief to realize that they still love each other. Grief can change you into an entirely different person and Beth Wiseman really does portray how it can destroy a relationship. I felt so sad for both Elizabeth and Gideon. Beth Wiseman is another author that I really enjoy. A Chance to remember by Kathleen Fuller: Cevilla Schlabach is Birch Creek's resident octogenarian matchmaker. She's completely surprised when a man from her Englisch past arrives in Birch Creek for a visit. As he and Cevilla take a few strolls down memory lane, they both start to wonder if the future holds friendship or the possibility of something deeper. I really enjoyed Kathleen's sweet novella. I loved seeing Cevilla get a second chance at true love and happiness. Mended Hearts by Kelly Irvin: When Hannah Kaffman was eighteen, she made a terrible mistake. Her parents and the other members of her Jamesport Amish community all say that they've forgiven her. But, everywhere she goes with eighteen month old Molly, she can feel their eyes following her. Molly's father, Thaddeus, escaped facing this by running away to Jamesport. With Thaddeus gone, Hannah's longtime friend, Phillip, has been stepping up to be by her side. He's been waiting patiently for Hannah to realize how much he cares for her. But, when Thaddeus returns after two years, Hannah can't help but admit how strongly she feels for him. But, does she owe Phillip something because he's waited so patiently? This really was a sweet story about second chances. Sometimes we don't think others have forgiven us because we haven't forgiven ourselves. And Hannah isn't just having to forgive herself, she has to find the grace to forgive Thaddeus as well. She was in a truly difficult spot and had a very difficult choice to make.

An Amish Reunion is an anthology by four of my favourite author's of Amish Fiction. Each of these stories is a second chance romance, which is a bit different. One has a young woman returning home to her childhood community and realizing that a boy she grew up with is still single and they are attracted to one another; a story about a couple getting divorced but when they help each other heal after the death of their child, their feelings change; a woman who had a child out of wedlock, but the father of her child returns and wants to marry her; and a pair of older, mature childhood friends that realize they want to spend their final years together.

Although these were novellas, I felt the characters were well developed and the stories long enough to feel like a complete story. I liked that they featured characters of various ages and situations. Each story was emotional and heartwarming. The characters all had to do some soul searching and in some cases ask for forgiveness. A wonderful book I recommend to those who enjoy Amish Fiction and Romance.

I enjoyed this collection of stories with a second chance at love theme. The circumstances that separated each couple were very different, but a range of emotions was present in each. Sadness, grief, and loneliness created a sharp contrast to the hopeful feelings that the reunions brought, with a blossoming of love not only for each other but for the Lord. The paths our lives take are not always clear, but trusting in God and His will is a strong tenant of the Amish faith. I was engaged as I read about the journeys of these characters and the heartbreak they endured and overcame with a renewed healing.

Four of my favorite authors with four novellas in An Amish Reunion make for a great book. All four stories are perfectly written and make you feel so much emotion like you are in the pages with the characters. One of my favorite things about reading novellas is that the authors a lot of times bring characters back from previous books they have written, and they didn't disappoint in this book either. Great to catch up with Rudy, Cevilla, and Hannah. You'll love reading these stories and seeing how coming together for a reunion can change your life.

An Amish Reunion by Amy Clipson, Beth Wiseman, Kathleen Fuller, Kelly Irvin is a wonderful compilation of 4 sweet stories of different Amish reunions. The stories were heartwarming, fun to read and very enjoyable.

As some topics were more serious, I think it was a realistic way to present some difficult and hard issues of the Amish.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Zondervan through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I of course loved Beth Wiseman’s contribution as she my all-time favorite Amish author. I also like the story by Kelly Irvin, a very well written and feel good story. The other two however were, in my thoughts, too far away from the Ordnung. There seemed to be too much compromise with the Amish way of life. All in all though I enjoyed the stories and would definitely recommend it, despite my misgivings.

I love Amish fiction and this book didn’t fail to disappoint. A lot of love, twists, and surprises led to a satisfying end.

Although all four authors are favorites, and write beautifully, this book was not a favorite. I was split. Out of the 4 stories, I really liked two. The other two stood out as being less equal to their counterparts. I will not say which two, as I would still recommend all 4 writers.

All 4 stories involved some type of reunion and return to family or previous loves. The stories, each different, overcame some sort of adversity, to find love and happiness in the end.

I often wonder about 4 authors, coming together, to write about a particular theme. This collaboration somewhat limits their creativity. The pressure to fit the theme seems to be an unnatural, struggle sometimes. I'd prefer to see each author stick with their own writing style and creative storytelling.

A collection of four novellas, short story, with each novella written by one of the authors. Each novella has a few things in common the Amish, some kind of reunion and forgiveness.

Wow each author has really went above and beyond in writing their novella and the message that was written. This collection really hit home and deep to the core for me.

I received a free copy from NetGalley. All I had to do was write an honest review.

Four delightful stories that bring you back to revisit characters from some of my favorite series. The four stories aren't connected but they do have a similar theme. The four authors are some of my favorites from this genre. If you are a fan of Amish fiction I think you will enjoy this book.

This is such a great collection of stories written by four very gifted Amish authors. Every story has a theme of “reunion” of some kind. The ages of the characters run from young adult to senior citizen. The storylines are as varied as the ages of the characters, and involve love, faith, forgiveness, and redemption. I can’t pick a favorite from among the four stories. Each one is special in its own way and I loved reading each page of this book. Even though the stories are shorter, each is very well written and the endings are not rushed. This book serves as a great springboard to discover more great books from these wonderful authors. One of the best collections of Amish stories I’ve read to date.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

Fear blocks the voice of God Listen to Him and everything will be ok.

I loved each of these four short Amish reunion stories that grabbed your heart in a special way. With different circumstances, reunions can be difficult but as you overcome the fear, something beautiful emerges as told in these four stories of hope and redemption.

Their True Home-Marlene and her family have come back to their home. A home where she grew up and had fond memories of their mother. Since her mother's death, her father can't face the memories of home. Marlene hoping to change her father's heart from grieving to joy, she starts a new job where she becomes reacquainted with Rudy. Rudy whom she had a school yard crush on. Both have been hurt before and being in their late 20's, they were unsure of any type of relationship. Everything begins to change has their friendship grows deeper and her father plans to move the family once again.

Reunion of Hearts - Ruth is coming back home from a terrible loss. No longer living in the Amish community as her heart was terribly broken by the death of her 5 year old daughter. Ruth and her husband Gideon not able to share in their loss and grieve, separated from the Amish community and each other. Ten years later, a marriage of a mutual friend brings them both together again. Not knowing how the other feels, their re-connection brings back the past. Desiring to heal, Ruth seeks to share her daughter Grace legacy with her family. Gideon and Ruth must learn to share the grief that they ran away from. This was my favorite as it brought many emotions of parenthood, marriage and faith.

A Chance to Remember- A reunion that brings the English to the Amish. Cevilla has never been married and living the simple Amish life was all she wanted. She did find love once but it never came to pass until Richard Johnson and his granddaughter Megan came to visit from Los Angeles. Richard has had a successful life but as he aged, his thoughts came to Cevilla and wanting to see her again. To see if she was the same person as she was so many years ago. Megan has a special place for her grandfather and his desire to see Cevilla made her cautious for her grandfather's heart. Megan in her own pain has been dealing with pride. Pride comes in many forms has this sweet reunion will share.

Mended Hearts- Hannah having found redemption in the birth of her child out wedlock, has worked hard for it. When her finance Thaddeus skipped town before the wedding, she thought their indiscretion would not be known until she found herself pregnant and a the father of her baby girl Evie long gone. Hannah lived with the stares, the judgement and ultimately the forgiveness of her community and was ready to start fresh until Thaddeus came to the restaurant where she worked. Thaddeus is the prodigal son that has come back. Hannah's life has changed. With a friendship of another man Leo, Hannah must decide if Thaddeus deserves a second change. Can she forget what Thaddeus has done? Can she love another as she did Thaddeus? Can she protect her heart?

Each story is unique has it deals with pride, 2nd chances and love that is met unconditionally.

A Special Thank you to Zondervan and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

Family Reunions can be a time of rejoicing or time of awkwardness for many people, but family is something we all need. Whether this is an extended family, an adopted family, or a close-knit family. For the Amish, family is very important. We see this in the ways they care for one another. In An Amish Reunion by Amy Clipston, Beth Wiseman, Kathleen Fuller, and Kelly Irvin, we are transported into the lives of four different Amish families and their stories about home and heart.

I enjoyed this collection not only because of the stories about family and that I got to reconnect with characters from other work by the authors but because of the diversity of the stories.

In Their True Home by Amy Clipston, we read about Rudy Swarey and Marlene. You may remember Rudy from Amy's book Seasons of an Amish Garden. Marlene had a crush on Rudy growing up, but her family moved and she never had the chance to explore a relationship with him. Now they are back and she is working at the hardware store of Rudy's father and finally has the chance for a relationship with Rudy when she finds out that it may all have to end.

In A Reunion of Hearts by Beth Wiseman, we read about Ruth and Gideon Beiler who experienced the loss of their daughter which caused the couple to separate. While still married, the couple has left their Amish faith and gone in different directions. Now both invited back to a family reunion and both believing the other won't go, they decide to attend the reunion. With the support of friends and family, can the two come back together and overcome their grief?

In A Chance to Remember by Kathleen Fuller, we read about Cevilla Schlabach who is the town matchmaker. I was really happy to see Cevilla getting her own story because I loved her in Words from the Heart. In this story, an English man from her past arrives in Birch Creek for a visit. Will Cevilla find love at her stage in life?

In Mended Hearts by Kelly Irvin, we read about Hannah Kauffman who had a baby out of wedlock and the baby's father run away on her. She is now caring for her child and feeling like everyone in the town, despite saying they have forgiven her, is watching her every move waiting for her to mess up again. Phillip, an old friend of Hannah, has stepped in to help her. Phillip has been waiting for Hannah to realize how much he cares for her when the baby's father, Thaddeus, returns. Now conflicted, Hannah has to make the choice of who she can trust.

Filled with stories of forgiveness, love, and coming home, An Amish Reunion was another enjoyable novella collection by some of the best Amish Fiction writers.

An Amish Reunion by Amy Clipson, Beth Wiseman, Kathleen Fuller, Kelly Irvin is a wonderful compilation of 4 sweet stories of different Amish reunions. The stories were heartwarming, fun to read and very enjoyable. I loved Kelly Irvin's book which centered around the location of Jamesport, the first Amish town that I personally visited and so it made it a great read for me as I could picture the town and the people as I saw them there.

Each story was individual and unique and different to read. Some of the topics were very serious and thought provoking. I think it was a realistic way to present some difficult and hard issues of the Amish. Sometimes we don't read about the difficulties that also come to them as well.

A very good book. I am very glad that I was able to read it!

An Amish Reunion is an endearing novella collection featuring stories by Amy Clipston, Beth Wiseman, Kathleen Fuller, and Kelly Irvin. Set in various Amish communities, this book includes stories in which reunions between friends and family members lead to second chances, renewed hope, and sometimes even a little romance. Each of the stories in this collection includes a very likable cast of characters who bravely endeavor to reconnect with people of their past as they attempt to find belonging, forgiveness, healing, peace, and wholeness.
From the first novella to the last, I truly enjoyed the delightful stories these authors created. I quickly became interested in the plot of each novella, and I also had genuine emotional connections to the characters within each story. Their trials, motivations, fears, faith, and perseverance kept me interested and uplifted page after page.
Creatively connected by the themes of reunion, reconnection, and reconciliation, these novellas are engaging, meaningful, and entertaining. There is an easy flow from one novella to the next as the four special stories highlight the gift of grace, the value of friendship, the power of faith, and the bonds of community.
An Amish Reunion is a book with plenty of warmth and a lot of heart. The novellas it contains are memorable, thoughtful, and inspiring. I eagerly recommend this book to all readers.
