This is the first book (Solo) by this author that I have read (I read the one she co-wrote with Megan & Kris). What a fantastic read. I was hooked from the beginning right to the end. I read it all in the one day.
Sara Wright is a Dog Trainer and Isabel Marquez is a cop. When both of them meet for the first time there is chemistry straight away. Sara has sworn off dating cops after what happened in a previous relationship but you can tell she is attracted to Izzy and only hiding how she feels.

Izzy is instantly attracted to Sara and is disappointed when she refuses to go out on a date with her but they still remain friends and as the book progresses it is hard for the friendship not to turn into something more. I really liked these two from the beginning and I loved Chase (the dog). There was also a great bunch of secondary characters.

I enjoyed the storyline although there could have been a little more added about Sara and the training of the dogs but other than that, I cannot fault the book. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

3.25 Stars. I thought this was a nice story, I just wasn’t blown away by it. It was quick easy read. It had a good pace and I was never bored. I guess my problem was the story didn’t feel deep enough for me. Things were a bit on the surface and I didn’t feel that really strong connection to the story or the characters.

The characters themselves were pretty likeable; one had a family background that was really sad. However, they both felt a little shallow (meaning character development) to me, just not enough depth for me to really care strongly about them. Although, I must admit the dog was pretty adorable, and I think I got more attached to him than the mains.

The romance was average. There was a little chemistry and I did believe in them as a potential couple. I would not call this insta love but it was a little fast for my personal tastes. The sex scenes didn’t blow me away but they were decent.

There is some angst but it was pretty light for a romance. This was mostly a feel good story. The K9 training was interesting, and there was one tiny bit of baby excitement that I think was a bit of a missed opportunity. A little more danger could have been added to make the book pop a little.

I think dog lovers and people looking for a romance with only a little angst might enjoy this. It was a perfectly nice read just not quite what I was hoping for.

This was a nice romance. The main characters have their issues, as we all do, that cause problems when they meet on the job. The story of what unfolds for them, as well as how the dog training works and some canine antics and affection make this a smooth enjoyable read.

Sara Wright was the lead trainer and consultant for Homeland Security’s Northeast Regional Training facility. Having lost her mother, a single parent, on 9/11, Sara guarded her heart to extremes. Her own rule was not to date cops. She felt she couldn’t risk another devastating loss. However, after meeting Transit Officer Isabel Marquez at the facility, Sara’s stance started to waver. There was a lot of angst involved due mostly to Sara’s ex, Nicole, who happened to be her boss and was still on friendly terms, much to the irritation of Isabel. There were also communication problems between Sarah and Nicole to what they actually meant to each other, which added to that level of angst. I didn’t quite get this lack of communication between these women who were previously in a long term relationship, especially evident when Nicole started to make life altering decisions with Sara in mind but without her knowledge.

I love stories that are both entertaining and educational. Except where noted, Perfect Partners was such a book. I especially enjoyed learning about the K-9 division, the training for explosive detection dogs, and the process for certification. These brave people don’t often get the recognition they deserve about the relevance of their job, especially in today’s world of ongoing terroristic acts. I applaud the author for revolving her story around such an awesome group of people and their canine partners. That in itself made this story a very good read.

Sara Wright has sworn off dating police officers and is concentrating on her job as the trainer for the K-9 facility. Well, that is until Isabel Marquez turns up at the training ground looking for Miss Wright. Isabel is not on the list of prospective trainees and it’s a training programme that officers wait years to get into. While Sara has misgivings about what strings were pulled for Isabel she can’t deny her attraction for the petite police officer.

This is the first solo novel I’ve read by Cummings and I’m sure it won’t be the last. It’s a really gentle and easy-to-read romance with no real angst or drama. There are definitely days when this exactly the kind of read I like to relax with. Sara and Isabel are both likeable characters although I felt there was a much better insight into Isabel than Sara.

If you’re a fan of dogs, especially service dogs, then Chase is another wonderful character. I would have liked more specifics around the actual training of the service dogs and perhaps more expression of trust between Isabel and her canine partner. If you’re hoping for some police drama and action, this is not the book, but if you want something to unwind to, this would work.

This was a nice, smooth read for me. The author has a nice flow to her writing, and nothing ever got too weird with the plot. I wouldn't say this was a "page turner" but I was invested the whole way in not only Sara and Izzy's relationship, but the training with Izzy and Chase as well.

I knocked a star off because I got a little bit of the crazy jealous girlfriend vibe from Izzy that made me not like her as much. I understand not liking Sara's relationship with Nicole to a point, but she went too possessive and finger-pointing pretty quickly in their relationship. I don't want to give too much away, but it seemed like they had been dating for like 3 weeks before the big showdown went down. It also didn't seem healthy how many times Sara had to promise her nothing was going on.

Overall, a pretty simple and easy read.

This book is just ok, there is nothing that stands out in it. It is a fairly common story in which there are many issues that could make the story more interesting, but all are treated superficially and some are not fully explained.
There is an age difference between the protagonists, although not much, about 8-10 years, but at some point it seems that it will be a problem; there is something of previous relationships that are not completely finished and that interfere in the new relationship that begins; There is also the loss of the mother of one of the protagonists at an early age. 14 I think, and what this entails besides the pain itself. Surely there are some more that I no longer remember.
In addition to this, the behavior of the two protagonists did not seem very coherent, which is why they have not interested me very much, nor they separately or together. Neither is the dog remarkable.
I sincerely hope that other reviewers can offer a more positive point of view than mine.
