3 Stars. This book was okay. This story was about Lowe Carter, a daughter of a rich family who bought an apartment on a cruise ship that goes all around the world. She meets Faith, an employee on the cruise ship. They literally run into each other, literally and both are drawn to each other. Faith cannot have relationships with members of the cruise ship and is torn between spending time with Lowe and obeying the ship's rules. Lowe is only spending 2 weeks on the cruise ship and Faith is unsure how it will work. Lowe lives in Arizona and not on the cruise ship. However, they both cannot keep away from each other.

This book was decent but not amazing. There was a lot of tension between the two characters for most of the book. Although the tension is not always good, as they have not great reasons to keep away from each other. This book has good moments but overall it is just okay. I did not get really into the book until later on and it did not really have a good end to the tension or the book, in my opinion. It seems like they did not know how to end it. I would recommend it if you really love tension and this author.

I didn't really take to this book, found it slow and to be honest I was bored while reading.
It lacked imagination

This is an ok romance but too slow paced and redundant in the reasons for hesitancy.

Faith is an employe in the luxury ship in wich Lowe is embarqued to visit her parents, who live in said ship traveling all over the world.

Lowe parents and sister are the kind of rich people that believes they are above the rest of mortals, especially the less fortunate and those who need to work for living. Lowe herself is not like that, so her annual visit is always forced and unwanted, but she does it anyway if only just out of respect.

Faith, on the other hand, sends all the money she can save to her mum and sister, in need of that. She has a very strong sense of family ties and she hopes, one day, to create her own.

Lowe is in no rush to this kind of commitment, fun and uncomplicated is her style. But then Faith makes her reconsider this.

All quite interesting and promising, but pretty lost in the excess of should or shouldn't by both main characters.

The duplicity of POV is sometimes confusing, there are chapters with several changes of narrator, although it helps to understand some MC decisions and actions, though.

Certainly this author has better stories, I enjoyed very much some of her first books, but her latest don't let me fully satisfied.

This one should have an epilogue, please

It’s taken me ages but it’s finally dawned on me that Cannon’s books invariably focus on the characters getting to know each other, doing the flirtatious dance trying to figure out who will lead, up until the point where they recognise their desire to be together, or at least give it a try. Her books are about the beginnings and not the relationship. So I was expecting a sudden ending with no epilogue but that said, this wasn’t one of the better story lines for me.

Lowe Carter is joining her ridiculously wealthy parents for a holiday in their residential apartment on an exclusive ship. Faith Williams is part of the crew and has been for eight years. There are rules preventing staff fraternising with the guests so it doesn’t help when they bump into each other and experience an uncanny attraction.

It’s written in first person with alternating points of view and while that normally doesn’t bother me, there were times when I had to flip backwards to see who was talking. I quite liked both Faith and Lowe but they didn’t have nearly enough dialogue or interactions for me to fully believe they got each other. What I mean by that it is, I knew what Faith’s background and values were and I knew what Lowe’s values were from their inner monologues but they didn’t really communicate it to each other on page. It left me feeling that they didn’t really know each other.

A couple of other things bothered me like Lowe saying that her parents would pride good manners and breeding above all else but spent half her time apologising for their manners. Maybe that’s the complexity of human nature. I like books set on ships because it is a defined space forcing the characters to get to know each other but some parts felt a little too much like a travel guide. In the end, it’s a fairly easy read with a little pushing and pulling.

I found Lowe to be so damn obnoxious I physically could not read it. I hate reading obnoxious characters and Lowe was the worst. She goes on and on and on and on about being humble when it comes to having money every thought in regards to her family was his superiority complex. The only way I can take rich characters who are ~different~ or whatever is if they donate to charity or something. She seemed so spend most of the time complaining about being rich which got annoying immediately. There's was also this judgmental tone about her sister having a therapist on speed dial (as if smart phones have speed dial?) which didn't sit well with me at all.

I was left feeling 'meh' about this book. The Rich vs. "Poor" type of romance is done so often, and this one was different enough beyond the F/F romance aspect of it. Lowe (the wealthy one) while from a <i>very</i> wealthy family only uses the wealth she has made on her own being a business owner, not so much the old money her family is from. She appreciates hard work, over riding on coattails of wealth.
Faith is a free spirit, the first chance she got she jumped on the chance to work on a cruise ship year-round.

The biggest problem I had with this book was there wasn't really a clear indicator when it switched POV. It did it mid-chapter sometimes, and since this book is written in first-person it wasn't always clear who was talking. Not to mention that they both had similar voices.

Things with Lowe didn't always make sense. She greatly dislikes her snooty family, and they seem to be equally disapproving of her for various reasons. Yet she states that she was taught that "family is everything", and I honestly didn't get that from how they treat each other. It seems that propriety and image is everything to them.

The way things unfold between them seemed more that Lowe wanted to have a good time and their conversations felt forced, and not really how people who just met talk to each other. Divulging deep personal information.

I feel this book might actually have been better had they not had had them "fall in love". It could have been a book about two women who had a romantic fling for a month. In the end, this book was just alright.

What happened to me with this book was very weird... I kinda warmed up to both characters from the start, but I failed to feel that huge chemistry between them... Also, while reading the book, I couldn't get rid of the feeling Lowe wanted to sleep with Faith and have a little good time on that boat... Never once I got the feeling of love and then that love statement at the end felt misplaced and abrupt... Other than that, it's a nicely written book.

Julie Cannon is a fantastic writer and I have loved all of her books. Lowe and Faith are from totally different worlds but when they “ran” into each other, the sparks flew. I feel that the best part of this novel are the descriptions of the different places the characters went and all of the adventures they had. The romance was sweet but left a little bit to be desired. Overall this is a cute and quick read.

Julie Cannon is a terrific writer and this book does not disappoint. The characters of Lowe and Faith are well developed. From the moment these to meet there is an instant and undeniable connection. The only problem is Faith works on a luxury ocean liner that caters to its residents. The ship has a strong policy that workers cannot fraternize with residents or their guest. Faith very much loves her job and doesn't want to do anything that could jeopardize it because she desperately needs the money.
Lowe is the daughter of one of the more wealthy residents on this floating condominium and her parents and sister are very class conscience and would never tolerate Lowe getting connection to a worker. How this dilemma works out well frustrating is incredibly interesting. This story is much more than a rich girl poor girl and well worth the read.

In addition to excellent character development and remarkable sexual tension between the two lead characters it is fascinating to read about the phenomenal places that this ship travels. Cannons description of these ports of call are truly remarkable and said a beautiful background for the story.

Love love love Julie Cannon. Reading this I could feel the electricity between the characters. What a great adventure and romance from Julie Cannon absolutely wonderful.

A hot and cold romance that left me wanting more.

Lowe is the daughter of wealthy parents. She has ventured away from that lifestyle by moving to Phoenix and opening her own business. Once a year she visits her parents and sister on the Escape. A large ship that her parents live on.

Faith is a cute, blonde, British staff member on their boat. Lowe and Faith fatefully run into each other and there is an instant attraction. Lowe decides she is going to try and have a vacation fling with her.

Somewhere between dinners, coffees, and excursions, things become a bit more involved.

What I liked about this book was that it was a very slow build-up but every encounter felt entertaining. Normally I don't like a lot of description around activities that characters do in books. But I really enjoyed the excursions. It seemed like the author had either done these things before or did good research, because I felt like I was taking part in them. The dialogue was good and believable.

But on that note, the dialogue was frustrating. This is very much based on miscommunication or the lack thereof. Faith is so hot and cold until the very end that I wondered how Lowe could put up with it.

The POV kept changing without any type of indicator of who's head we are in. It was confusing and took a bit of time to figure it out each time it switched.

I was also left wanting more. The book mentions several things that never get a story or are not resolved. So I wondered what was the point in mentioning some things if they weren't going to pan out to be important. The end was satisfying but abrupt. There were major questions that were not answered.

Overall, this was a good read. I'd recommend it for those who like will they/won't they slow build romances.

I am on the fence with this one. It took me a couple of chapters to really get into the story. I think the storyline was okay. The characters of Faith & Lowe were good. The chemistry between the pair was off the charts. Parts of the book I liked other parts I found I did not like. I felt the story line was slow at parts and rushed at other parts.

This is definitely not Ms Cannon’s best work but it is worth a read if you have nothing better to read.

A rich girl poor girl romance set on a boat.

Lowe and Faith meet on The Escape when they literally bump into each other. Faith works there for eight years while Lowe visit her parents who lives there every three weeks a year.

Lowe loves her family but doesn't really like how they are because they have money. The only bright spot of spending time with her family is Faith who give her break from her family.

Faith is attract to Lowe but doesn't know what to do because the captain of the ship has strict rules about crew members getting involved with the residents or their guests.

As their attraction grows will it be worth to give in or walk away. I did find it a bit confusing because it's written first povs sometimes you like who talking first.

This was an adorable short story. I loved the opposites attract trope and this one was done perfectly. If I have any criticism, it's only that this wasn't long enough! I need to know what happened to them. Alas, the trials of shorts. But this is a worthy read, regardless.

A rich girl – poor girl romance set in the context of The Suite Life kind of luxury ship. A feel good, tingly romance which is perfect for losing yourself into that world for a few hours.

Lowe Carter is the independent, open butch older daughter of an extremely pretentious and snobbish mother. Unfortunately for her, her younger sister, Victoria, is a spitting image of her mom and her father is mostly mentally and emotionally absent. However, being a “good daughter” she spends three weeks every year with her parents on-board the luxury ship in which they own one of the most expensive apartments. Faith Williams is a crew member of the said ship. Lowe and Faith literally crash into one another on the day Lowe is joining her parents. And sparks fly. However, the captain of the ship has strict rules about crew members getting involved with the residents or their guests. Any such involvement means a termination of employment for the crew member. But the heart finds its own way, right?

The attraction and chemistry between Lowe and Faith is palpable. It jumps off the black and white of the pages into the reader sending all sorts of interesting reactions in us right there along with the two MCs.

There are some holes and some unexplored areas in the plot, but those are minor to the romance which remains the unwavering focus. Also, it is written in first person alternating between the two MCs. At times this can become a challenge to follow which of the two is actually speaking.

Despite these minor blemishes, this is a nice – very nice – read. A good way to begin the new year.
