I have to say DI Kim Stone is one of my favourite characters in crime fiction and I look forward to every one of Angela Marson’s books featuring her.

This is Book 10 in the series and it’s as good as the first...and I was hooked from the very first chapter in this dark, unsettling tale….totally compelling.

This begins when a young couple are found chained to a radiator. DI Stone recognises the block of flats as she had been here as a child…..there are similarities to her own traumatic past but she puts this down as coincidence….but is it?

There is another murder, again mimicking events from her past and she knows this in linked in some way…..why would anyone do this and who hates her that much?

There are some returning characters and some new to bring even more depth to the story and will keep you guessing right to the awe inspiring ending….as always I’ll be waiting with baited breath for Book 11….

Many thanks to Netgalley, Bookouture and Angela Marsons for this ARC and this is my honest and unbiased review.

A MUST READ.
BUT - start the books from the beginning - you will not be disappointed, all her books are gripping!

Usually I say this could be read as a stand alone but this book does contain a lot of villains from earlier novels which may spoil them for you if you haven’t read them, so I recommend you read the other books in the series first. You’re probably thinking but that’s nine other books but I can guarantee that if you love fast paced, action packed novels you will enjoy this series.

I absolutely flew through this book, with Angela Marsons usual short, sharp chapters and compelling storyline it was hard to put down.

I’m calling this book Kim Stone greatest hits, or maybe greatest heartaches would be a better way to put it. A killer is recreating all the past traumatic events in her life, starting with the death of her twin brother.

Kim really goes through it in this book. She never one for showing feelings, preferring to keep everything inside, it all bubbles to the surface and we get a rare show of emotion.

My only issue with the whole book was the ending, I wasn’t entirely convinced by the motive or in fact the killer itself but that didn’t spoil my enjoyment of the book.

Overall Dead Memories is a whirlwind of a novel, with plenty of thrills and spills that is a must read series for fans of police procedurals.

I was on the edge of my seat from start to finish. I felt like this was happening to my best friend! I was sad for her; felt violent rage on her behalf; I wanted to shout and scream and my body was pumping pure adrenaline!

As always, I simply cannot wait for Kim Stone 11

Thanks to Bookouture for allowing me to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Two teenagers are found chained to a radiator the boy dead but the girl still clinging to life. DI Kim Stone arrives at the familiar scene as it is exactly how she and her twin were discovered in the same tower thirty years ago. Later she arrives at the scene where the bodies of a middle-aged couple are found in a burnt car bearing an eerie similarity to the deaths of her own parents. The killer is mirroring Kim’s past and will do anything to destroy her emotionally before claiming her as his final target.

Dead Memories is the 10th book in the DI Kim Stone series by Angela Marsons, it just gets better and better with each book. A tightly woven book full of tension, twists and turns strong characters and a gripping story-line makes it another great addition to this addictive series. Cannot wait for Book 11!

I would like to thank Bookouture & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review.

I love Angela marsons books and I am reading my way through this series. I like to read them in order and I am on book 5 now so will post a proper review when I get to this book. I have no doubt it will be brilliant though as the whole series is great.
I am now up to date with his series and it just goes better!! Another brilliant book. The storyline kept me on the edge of my seat, gripped me from the first page as is usual with all Angela's books. I had to keep reading to find out what happened but at the same time I didn't want it to end. A sign of a great book and series. Bring on the next instalment

4.5-5 stars
Another cracking Kim Stone book - you know you are in for a really good solid crime read with these books.

Kim's past comes back to haunt her with a vengeance with the traumas of her childhood being recreated in grotesque fashion .. but by who and why?

Well written, well paced and utterly addictive. I loved the varied characters and further insights into Kim's past and the developing dynamics of her team with the unwanted addition of profiler Alison.

Although any book in this series would read well as a stand alone if you want to watch both Kim and the team develop through the series I'd recommend reading in order - I'm already looking forward to the next one!

Many thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book - my review is, as always my honest opinion of this book.

Wow Angela Marsons has done it again! Another fab novel - how do you do it? 5* for me as always. This author just keeps getting better and better.
This novel is a sit on the edge of your seat , thrilling, exciting, stay up late reading book!
Again we see Di Kim Stone at her best - solving the most hineous of crimes. The murderer is recreating several events from Kims life - it soon becomes clear the killer is trying to make Kim Stone suffer and relive parts of her life she is trying hard to move on from. It must be read - you wont be disappointed!

Another fantastically gripping edition to my absolute favourite series ever! Someone is out to get Stone, someone who knows every sorid detail about her past, Stone and her team need to figure out who hates her enough to want her to suffer and ultimately die.
Absolutely brilliant, as all of the others are, I can't recommend this book, even the full series, enough...as always it's five huge stars from me!

Kim Stone has put away her fair share of bad guys over the years. It's no secret she has acquired many enemies during her criminal investigations. Now someone is out for revenge and Kim's life is on the line.

In Dead Memories Kim comes face to face with crimes recreating the most traumatic experiences of her past. Kim must reveal more of herself to her team (and us!) than she feels comfortable with. All eyes are on her as Kim faces some of her darkest demons. The team races against time as they try to uncover whose heart holds so much hatred for Kim that they are constructing elaborate murders to gain her attention, with the end game being Kim's own death.

As the team reviews their suspect list, we revisit some of their most compelling crimes and criminals. This is definitely not a book to start off with but for tried and true fans - it was an absolute treat! I loved how this new team is finding its way and how much more we learn about Kim's past. Her strength, complexity, endurance and her ability to rise above the atrocities she suffered in her childhood are such a huge part of what drives this series. For fans of the series be prepared for some heartache. It's impossible not to feel for Kim, even as she tries to compartmentalize her pain.

I honestly can not say enough about this series. It never disappoints! If you are considering giving it a try - GO FOR IT! 10 books in and it just keeps getting better! Now to impatiently await book 11!

Another great read featuring Kim Stone and her faithful team solving a complex case that has connections to Kim’s own life. Lots of action and development of characters in this book. A light side also emerges in this book but Kim’s solid work ethnics and ability to read her own team , her victims and haters make for a solid and entertaining book.

What can I say about this author and this amazing police procedural series that hasn't already been said?

Strong characters, fresh story lines, and well researched writing have kept me coming back for more.

If this isn't on your TBR, do yourself a favor and add it!
If it is on your TBR, bump it up and make sure to start with book 1, [book:Silent Scream|24483265].
You won't be sorry!

The only downside is having to wait for the next one to come along....

It was as good as ever. I love catching up with Kim Stone and Campany. She's one of my favorite warrior women in a contemporary crime book.

How she didn't fall apart when she went to the first crime scene. But knowing, Kim there was no way she was not going to fall apart in from of her superior or fellow officers.

What can I say, another absolute cracker by Angela Marsons. Ten books in and Kim Stone is going strong, with a huge following worldwide. Having read all of these books, it's easy to see why. I never get tired of reading about Kim Stone. A strong but troubled woman, she has a deviously funny sense of humour, which shines through the cracks in her darkest days. In Dead Memories, she is tested beyond belief as somebody is gunning for her. Determined to make her relive each of her most painful moments, they are relentless as they plot against DI Stone, using murder as a weapon against her. A highly emotive, chilling read that will take you to the edge and then push you a little more. I highly recommend this series

Recently I read books 8 and 9 back to back and it was the perfect way to remind me all about Kim Stone and her team. I was itching to get my hands on the tenth in the series (how did that happen?). This latest story bears a shocking similarity to Kim’s own personal life and the opening few chapters plunges you straight into their latest case.

It’s easy to forget just how many people Kim has arrested or locked horns with and this book reminds you of that very fact. More and more events make themselves known from Kim’s past as more and more things happen and people suffer as we see things from her past recreated almost as if it is coming back to haunt her. As usual Bryant, Stacey and Penn are deeply involved and have Kim’s back every step of the way.

This latest instalment is almost like a ‘Best Of’ with all her historical cases and characters coming back into the fray. We see an element of dark humour running through this latest book which I absolutely loved and I found myself fully immersed back into Kim’s world. Another outstanding read and a series that shows no signs of slowing down.
