I just loved Hay’s style of writing and ability to suck the reader in, almost forcing you to binge read her novels until you find out what exactly is really going on and I can firmly say that she most definitely delivered in a major way with this one.

Thank you Trafalgar Square Publishing and Netgalley for a copy of Do No Harm by L.V. Hay for an honest review.

This book was quite the ride. The book starts with Lily and Sebastian's marriage. Lily's ex-husband Maxwell picks up their son and it is clear that Maxwell is not quite ready to give up Lily. He seems obsessive and unhappy that she has moved on. From then on, the book is told from Lily's, Sebastian and a mysterious unnamed narrator, and the thriller takes off from there. The plot is a little jumpy but very fast paced. You spend the whole book trying to decide who the unnamed narrator is and what they are trying to accomplish and why. I liked the format and found this an enjoyable read.

Loved the characters, loved the story. While some of it was a tad unbelievable, I enjoyed it all the same. Will make a great beach read this summer.

I like this book, but I find it a little hard to swallow. Maxwell was a jerk, but his ego wouldn’t allow him to be a pawn in Fran’s games. All the evidence is circumstantial;but I guess people get convicted with less. I am also surprised that Lily bought into this so easily! Nonetheless,it was well-written and well-executed. I hate the fact that Fran got away with this.

Lily is looking forward to starting a new life with Sebastian, she believes she can finally shut the door on her first marriage to Maxwell, a possessive control freak, but before the ink has even had time to dry on the marriage certificate, it soon becomes apparent someone will do anything to break the couple up. Hay drags the reader into a compelling plot that’s claustrophobic and very tense, you very much feel like a “fly on the wall” as the couples life begins to unravel, you want to jump into the pages and warn them “to trust no one”.

Do No Harm is an unsettling tale of obsession, Lucy Hay explores the persistent disturbing preoccupation someone appears to have with the couple through occasional chapters told from their POV, it’s these chapters that make you realise how obsession can turn into something much more dangerous and chilling

This wasn't my favorite thriller that I've read. The story was good and well written, but I think too much was given away early on and it made the ending fairly predictable. I like to write down what I think the answer is at different points in the book, and at 16% I had 2 predictions - 1 was what you were supposed to think and the other is what it was. So while I essentially was wrong in my guess, it tried too hard to sway you one way to a point where you knew it just wasn't the case. It was still an overall enjoyable book, and I'm really glad to get the sneakpeak that I did!

I am reviewing a copy of Do No Harm through Trafalagar Square Publishing and Netgalley:

Lily and her six year old son have a second chance of happiness with head teacher Sebastian after Lily leaves her marriage to jealous, possessive, oncologist Maxwell. Sebastian is the opposite of Maxwell and a perfect match for Lily. It isn’t long before they decide to marry which is when things start going wrong.

Maxwell goes back to the scene determined that he is going to win his family back but things are soon spiraling out of control. Soon Lily and Sebastian are not only fighting for their relationship but also for their lives.

I give Do No Harm four out of five stars!

Happy Reading!

Ugh, this had so much promise. I liked the premise, characters and writing style. It started well... Then it gives up too much, too soon.

It is so obvious with the author is pointing you in one direction that this character will not be the culprit. Then there is the revealing quirks of a couple of the other main characters and there you have it. There really wasn’t a large pool to pick from so it wasn’t hard. I was hoping maybe the author was going to pull a fast one and have it be who we’re led to believe but do something crazy as a result of that...

It’s a quick read and the “villain’s” viewpoint is somewhat comical so I did finish this but I wanted more (or to know less).

Thanks to NetGalley, the author and Trafalgar Square Publishing for a copy in exchange for a review.

Lily and Sebastian are about to get married but there is someone watching and looming. Someone who doesn't want these two to be married or happy together.

Is it Marcus, the jealous, ex-husband? Is it Tries, Lily's clingy and needy bestie? Is it Fran, Sebastian's ailing mother? Who is the enemy? And why?

This was a quick, tight read with several surprises. This book has all of my favorite things...alternating POV's, unreliable narrators and delicious twists.

I recommend this one!

Wow! Fantastic domestic thriller. Lily has finally moved on from her controlling ex-husband and believes she has found the man of her dreams with her new husband Sebastian. As Lily and her young son Denny begin their new life things immediately start to go wrong in a big way. Someone is conspiring against them to tear them apart. With murder, arson, crazy in-laws, and friends that can’t be trusted this book has it all. Excellent book that is impossible to put down. Will now be reading all of this authors other books.

Thank you to net galley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read this book it was a great experience

After leaving her marriage to jealous, possessive oncologist Maxwell, Lily and her six-year-old son have a second chance at happiness with headteacher Sebastian. Kind but vulnerable, Sebastian is the polar opposite of Maxwell, and the perfect match for Lily. After a whirlwind romance, they marry, and that’s when things start to go wrong…

Thank you to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for this ARC.

While this was very well written, around the halfway mark, this went from being an entirely plausible psychological thriller to completely unbelievable. The first half, I alternated between guessing whodunit, only to eventually find out I had guessed wrong - which was exciting - but as I said, around the halfway mark, it turned into something I just couldn't see happening. I couldn't see someone being this conniving, this evil. I suppose that kind of thing makes it a good plot line, but it was just unrealistic to me. That does not go without saying that despite the story line, I did enjoy this book. The writing was solid, the alternating narration kept the pace quick, and the characters were nicely developed. Overall, it was a quick read and I will look forward to more from the author.

One of my favorite books this month. I just couldn't put it down and stop reading. It grips in its sweaty fist and just won't let up until the last page. Absolutely pick up this winner of a book and prepare to loose yourself in this story. Happy reading!

First, I want to thank L.V. Hay, Orenda Books, and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

Looking into an eyeball for the cover in L.V. Hay’s cover of Do No Harm is definitely the way to capture my attention! Kudos to the graphic designer on that one! The book was just as intense as the cover was!
This book is dedicated to all of those who think love has to hurt: but it doesn’t. Let go, walk away, and don’t look back.

L.V. Hay really puts the phrase an ex is an ex for a reason!! However, Marshall takes that meaning WAY too far in this story!! He is sick, twisted, and just plain evil. My heart went out to Denny who was caught in between his Mom and Dad’s divorce. But also, his father trying to destroy his mother in the process. His Mom just got remarried to Sebastian who is decent man whom she is very happy with. However, Marshall is not happy that she is happy. He is sick and twisted and won’t let her be happy.

Another book where I am glad that I am single!!

This book is broken up into parts and sub categorized by months.

I have read many acknowledgements in my reading career however this one was completely different. This one was discussing parenthood and how it could be the best yet the worst thing in your life. I laughed when she thanked her parents for never putting her in a straightjacket of parental expectation. Even when she came home with a pregnancy announcement.

Perfect psychological thriller! It moved at a fast pace with twists and turns throughout! I couldn’t put it down! Highly recommend!
