The choices we make follow us throughout our lives. The consequences of holding on too long to our anger can can get in the way of our friendships as shone so clearly in this story. An engaging read that's hard to put down.

This story of two authors was fascinating. The mechanics and business end of writing books was enlightening. The friendship between them was damaged. Finding their way back was wonderful. Family, romance and life choices all play an important role. I was riveted and didn't put it down until I finished.

I wanted to like this book a bit more than I did. The characters are engaging and some of the plot points very satisfying, but there were also unreasonable holes in the storyline that should have been addressed. It's implausible to believe that a 40 year old writer has never seen the name of her father on a birth certificate or elsewhere and, in this digital age, has never researched him. Yet that discrepancy underlies the main plot point and would derail it if considered. On the plus side, I enjoyed the wonderful glimpses of the reality of a writer's life as shared by the author/main character. Also, the complexities of the best friend's marriage to a faithless but loving spouse were great...nice swerve from the usual. Finally, I thought that the main character's fiancee deserved more character development and time in the story...he was interesting and I would have enjoyed more insights into him.

A wedding dress is passed down through multiple generations being altered to fit each bride. The lives of three women are the core of the story here. A mother, a daughter and the daughter‘s best friend who was raised like her sister. Imagine after being 40 years old you find out the father you thought was dead before you were born is actually alive
The book deals with a lot of baggage between the mother and the daughter and the two best friends in a heartwarming story that will make you feel good in the end.

Loved this book! My Ex-Best friend so reminded me of my ex-best friend and all the fun we had as teenagers. I'm still contemplating trying to find her. I really loved how Bree and Lauren were able to finally see the difference between their teenage selves and their adult selves. That life was not as "easy" as it looked for either of them. Life will never be like it was when they were teenages, but they have the opportunity to build a whole new friendship on a more secure mature foundation. I loved this book! Thanks for sharing!!!!

I love Wendy Wax. Her characters are like visiting with old friends. This book includes all the things I love, bookstore, authors, beach, families.

I have enjoyed the Author's previous series of books, the beach road series. I loved this book. We enter the story when Lauren & Bree, who had been best friends, Bree living with Lauren and her Mom, until about 18 years old are turning 40. Lauren is a successful author and Bree married, to a less than faithful husband, with 2 children has spent 15 years working on her own novel. Being a successful author was a dream they both shared. The story goes between each women's perspective as to why they are no longer friends. Lauren is home to try on the family wedding dress when she learns her mother has kept a pretty significant secret from her. The story moves thru this revelation and the impact on everyone's lives. I really enjoyed the whole story and appreciated that everyone's story was wrapped up in the end

I loved the characters, setting, just everything. I thought the secret she was hiding would be different, but the real secret was better.
I'm not into spoilers, so I'll close this with my recommendation to read this awesome book when it comes out.

A story of family and trust and living with the consequences of choices made out of fear. Lauren and Bree used to be best friends but choices they made have severely strained their friendship to the point where they barely know each other. An engagement and a family secret have them back in the same town and falling back into old routines of their friendship even as they nurse the pain of anger of lost years. Will they ever be friends again?

Cute, less predictable than I thought. Solid beach read. Like most romance novels everything works out in the end.

Wow! Couldn't put this one down! So much going on, sometimes that annoys me, but not here.

My Ex-Best Friend's Wedding is a delightful read and yet so suspenseful as many plots are woven together with life, love and laughter.
Wendy Wax has written a winner again.
