There's a lot to love about Hans-Christian Schmidt and Cynthia Vance's lovely little lyrical book, "Are You Sleeping Little One," which I read in digital format but I believe is intended for publication as a board book. Practically speaking, the book utilizes just the perfect balance of text to page for a board book for really young readers, and the sing-song voice in which it is written is likely to appeal to readers ages two and younger. This book makes for a great off-to-bed book, the kind of book you return to again and again, integrating it into the bedtime routine to lull little ones off to sleep. For older readers it will hold less appeal, as it offers less of a challenge, but overall it is a sweet, simple, and appealing little board book.
