A Compassionate Hand..
Ann is at a loose end. With her brood having flown the nest, she must find something to do. So, she does just that. It’s not too long before her own brand of harmony becomes very disquieted indeed. Amusing and endearing, sometimes highlighting more serious issues but with a lightness of touch and a compassionate hand.

Just finished this book.A really enjoyable witty read perfect for a summer beach read.It reminds me a bit of the Aisling books.

Unfortunately I didn't enjoy this book for some reason I couldn't get into the plot. So decided not to finish reading it.

I tried and failed with this title. Twice I've picked it up and just couldn't get further than the first two chapters. I think it was a combination of writing style and use of vernacular, but the words just didn't tell a story for me.
Apologies.

Absolutely loved this book! So funny yet sentimental! If you were a fan of 'Oh My God, What a Complete Ashling', you will love this book! The character of Ann Devine is the typical Irish Mammy and I could hear my own mother mutter many of the phrases that Ann uses. If you are an Irish person living abroad, this will make you feel at home right away! Or if you want to understand the matriarchy of Ireland - this book is your first call!
