This is a story about a Hollywood director who is mistakenly misdiagnosed with a terminal disease. She then realizes everything she's missing out in life, so she starts a bucket list, then decides she needs to confront and apologize to her ex fiance that she walked out on just before their wedding 10 years earlier. I had some issues with this story. First, the transition from the diagnoses to her leaving a directing job that she was to start just isn't believable. Not sure how many Hollywood directors can just walk away from films they have already been contracted out for, but wasn't crazy how that played out. Then there was how she ended up in her home town after eating cookies at the state fair. Again, it just wasn't a smooth transition. Honestly, I almost didn't finish this book about 30% through, not thrilled with the writing style, the characters, the story as a whole, but wanted to give it a go to see if it got any better, sadly it didn't. Not a book I would read again.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.

L.P.Dover skillfully develops characters that are quite real and become people that the reader would really like to know. The plots are realistic for romance novels; not fantasy, that would not happen in real life.

This is a second chance story, which is my favorite. Keeping a promise that she gave to her mother before she died, Aubrey went to Hollywood and became an accomplished , award winning director, but sacrificing the love of her life. Her best friend is Emilia Hart, one of Hollywood's most sought after actresses. After receiving a misdiagnosis of a terminal disease, she decides that she sacrificed too much and chucks it all to do write a bucket list and do all those things that she has put off. One of those is to return to her home town of Dusty Valley, Oklahoma. Ten years ago, she was a dental assistant, a month away from marrying Cole Haywood, the love of her life, when she decided she needed to keep the promise to her mother. Cole offered to come with her to California, but she knew his heart was in Dusty Valley and she didn't want him to make the sacrifice or resent her later. Without him being on social media, she didn't know if he had moved on to another, but she had never found a man that could take his place in her heart. She finds that he had not replaced her either, but he is still very angry. Older and wiser now, can they mend their broken hearts and put them back together again? A side story involves Emilia and Cole's brother Bennett. Will they learn from Cole and Aubrey's mistakes?

Love stories that you can relate to real live are absolutely my fave and this story it one I can definitely connect with. I find Cole and Aubrey’s story is one that could happen to anyone! Shoot how many times do we walk away and stay away? For Aubrey one life altering moment shook her to her core and had her doing something she never thought she would and thank goodness she did! Her and Cole have a lot to figure out but one thing is certain; the love never left!

LP Dover delivers an emotional story of two people who found each other again after sacrificing their love for each other's happiness. She does a fantastic job showing their road to reconciliation, by examining their fears, their worries, their hopes and their love for each other. A truly wonderful read!

Aubrey Reynolds suffered a difficult loss as a young adult that shaped her future. Aubrey was to marry the love of her life, her soulmate Cole Haywood, but a promise to her deceased mother had her pursuing her dream of becoming a famous screenwriter instead. As a famous, award winning screenwriter, she had everything she could ever want....except love. When she is mistakenly given a life-changing diagnosis, Aubrey decides to start “living” life. Aubrey makes a bucket list and leaves on the adventure of a lifetime.

Cole Haywood, a firefighter on the cusp of becoming the chief, is SHOCKED to see Aubrey back in Dusty Valley. He’s hurt, angry, and has never stopped loving Aubrey. He has dreams of becoming fire chief, she’s a famous screenwriter. Although Cole still loves Aubrey, he believes she could never be happy in Dusty Valley, Oklahoma. Once he gives her the chance to see who she’s become and still is, hope sets in.

While I’ve never read an L.P. Dover novel, I can say that this was one of the best second chance novels I’ve read. I loved Cole’s willingness to put the past aside to see if he and Aubrey could have a second chance at love. Their bucket list adventures brought the past and the present together flawlessly. I also loved the uniqueness of Aubrey’s bucket list. She didn’t just want to go see places, but to experience foods (cookies) and events (book signings). Awesome second chance love story! I do wish that Bennett and Emilia had gotten their own story, not just an addition to Love, Again. I also LOVED the fact that a book was based in Oklahoma! There’s not too many of those out there. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

Love a second chance romance - this was such a good story. I was glad to that misdiagnosis was addressed immediately and Aubrey knew within hours that the life threatening news she received was incorrect. However, that didn't deter her from making changes in her life and revisiting her past. Loved Aubrey and Cole and will look forward to reading more from this author.

When a false positive blood test has director Aubrey thinking that she has just weeks left to live, she starts to think about all she hasn’t done with her life... and the biggest regret is the love she left behind in small-town Oklahoma. But is it too late for a second chance with Cole?

I have mixed feelings about Love, Again. I wanted more anger from Cole, I think. While I was glad that the reunion between Aubrey and Cole happens pretty early on, and the second half of the book is then reconnecting on their shared Bucket List trip, I wanted *more* of *something* before all was forgiven. Yes, they are both still desperately in love with one another, but I would have liked to have seen a bit more back and forth before they kissed and made up.

I’d love to see Bennett and Emilia get their own story. That instalove between the two of them captured my interest more than Cole and Aubrey.

Still, Love, Again was a sweet second-chance romance. Low drama, and a HEA that ties everything up with a nice bow as Aubrey finds a way to have her cake and eat it too when it comes to her directing career and life with Cole in small-town Oklahoma.

As soon as I started reading, I became completely immersed in all that was happening in this expertly written second-chance romance. I loved the unforgettable characters, especially Aubrey Reynolds, a successful Hollywood director, who returns home to Dusty Valley, Oklahoma after ten years, and Cole Haywood, local fireman and her high school sweetheart.

If you are a fan of well-crafted contemporary romance that will stay with you long after you finish the book, don't miss LOVE, AGAIN by L. P. Dover.

I received an advance reader copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and am voluntarily providing my honest review. I enjoyed it so much, I purchased a copy for my keeper library.

This was my first read by the author and unfortunately, I really wasn't impressed by it. Early on I thought it a cute read, but as the story evolved, I honestly didn't care for the development, the characters or their connection with each other and wasn't a fan of the writing style. :(

Aubrey's second chance almost never happened...

Though he lived in her heart, Cole wasn't a part of her glamorous life in California. She left him ten years prior to pursue her dreams and while her profession gave her everything she thought she wanted, life was still a bit empty without the love of her life to share it with.

Queue the SWOON!!

Some misinformation and clarity in thinking about how life should be...Aubrey changes her trajectory and begins a journey of self-discovery, travel, and hopefully a second chance at love.

Problem is, will Cole accept her apology and try again?

Guess you'll have to read and find out!

I thought this story was perfect for the romantic heart...one that believes that love conquers all. In so many ways, it does. I loved how Aubrey found her purpose, pursued her dreams, and found herself.

Dover delivers a heartfelt, sweet, and completely swoon-worthy story in Love, Again.
Who says you can't go home again, anyway?

10 years apart because someone believes that they are always right and deserves to be listened too, even if that is the wrong thing to do. I was really hoping this second chance love story was going to turn out how I was hoping and it did. But for a little while there they author had me on pins and needles.

I used to love reading snarky, negative reviews, but I hate writing them because now I understand the power they have to hurt people. With this book, in particular, I feel as if there is something deeply personal being conveyed. For that reason, I want to commend the author for writing this.

I got a free e-copy of this book from Netgalley, an uncorrected proof, because I loved the concept, but for me, the storytelling left much to be desired. I didn't dislike any of the characters, but I didn't connect with any of them. At times, I felt the author spent too much time telling and not enough time showing. Conversations did not feel natural to me (do contemporary people really use the words chums and spunky?), particularly when Aubree relayed information that the reader needed to know via conversation in which her companion would already know this information.

At times, I was too aware of the author. Trite phrases popped up too often. Nothing was presented in a new light; there was nothing to make this stand out from anything else. There weren't many differences between Aubree's voice and Cole's voice, other than POV. There were inconsistencies and things that didn't make sense to me. Aubree's mom’s dying wish was for Aubree to pursue her dreams. This did not mean Aubree had to cut off ties with everyone from her past, particularly anyone else she might have looked up to as a surrogate parent. Aubree talks about how it broke her heart, but then she says things like she'd “never looked back.” First of all, this is clearly not true. The second issue is that it's a worn-out phrase, and to me, it just seemed like lazy filler. Another inconsistency: Was Cole's mom Aubree's mom's best friend or was Heather's mom?

There were a couple of editing errors, which I hope will be fixed in the final book. For example, verb tenses were occasionally wrong, and for that reason, they were jarring. More jarring, however, were the sentences in which the modifying phrase did not match the subject. For example, and I realize this sentence may have been changed (hopefully), “Emilia was on the couch when I came down the stairs, dressed and a simple pink t-shirt and denim shorts.” This sentence would imply that “I” was dressed that way, but it was a description of Emilia’s clothing. This is not revealed until the following paragraph when “I” describe what “I” am wearing. This forced me to go back and read it again. This sort of thing happened in a couple of places.

Why did the author use the phrase “things were about to change” two times in the novel? If it had been used a few times, I might look for the significance in repeating the phrase as foreshadowing of a larger event or maybe mirroring to call attention to something, but the two times it was used seemed unnecessary and silly.

This is the story I'm afraid I might write if trying to tell the true story of my second chance with my college sweetheart. Many people have urged me to write it, but it requires a skill I do not believe I possess, and I'm not sure this author does either. I would not recommend this story.

First I have to say that this was one my first read by L.P. Dover and I have to say I loved it!

Aubrey Reynolds small town girl leaving her sweetheart a month before there wedding to chase her dream, a promise she kept to her mother before she passed. She became a successful well known movie director, but all that changed when a simple test was done with a misdiagnosed, that's when she decided to enjoy life and create a bucket list on that list was what she left behind 10 yrs ago. Will she find who she's looking for?

Cole Haywood, Dusty Valleys future chief Fireman, Yes he is on FIRE! he's one dreamy fireman. He would make any women swoon. He's Aubreys lifetime sweetheart, devasted because she left a month before there wedding but he also wanted for her to chase her dreams. 10 yrs later, he sees again.

I have to say for second chances this story had everything from the beginning to the happily every after.

I, hands down love L.P. Dover. She has an amazing way of dragging you and making you fall in love with the characters she is writng about. She does another great job of bringing you into her story. Cole was and is an amazing man. I also loved Aubrey. Not at first but after I got to reading about her I fell for her hard as well. These two together were such a fun read.

Cole is the hot and sexy cowboy fireman. Yes, folks both sexy beings wrapped up in one. He has his path set and he is going to be chief and then also take over his dads farm.

Aubrey is very successful in the movie industry. She is loving her dream. She is smart and sexy and still harbors feelings for her first-time love. On the eve of getting the movie, she wants to do she gets some horrific news. Her life changes and so does her path for the moment.

These two together are so much fun to read. You can feel the sparks zinging the page when they see each other for the first time in ten years. They are pretty, yes I said pretty, smart sexy and so loveable and adorable. I loved every moment of this book. The two people and the secondary characters were awesome. I loved Coles brother and Aubrey’s best friend.

This book makes me want to get and move because life can be short and you need to live it while you can.

This is a second chance love story and oh my did it have me hooked right from the beginning! Aubrey is a Hollywood director, and a very successful one at that, and this story starts off with her looking for her keys while suffering from a hangover. She doesn't often imbibe but the night before she had celebrated with her friend but now she needs to get out the door to a meeting for a new movie. Just as she is about to leave the house she gets a call that changes everything. Her doctor gives her the news she may not have long to live. She was frozen in shock until her friend Emilia and her doctor come over to let her know there was a mistake and the blood tests were not hers and she is fine. Okay, this is a wake up call that changes everything. Bags are packed, a bucket list is made and she is off on an adventure to places she has always wanted to go and to see things she has only read about. Along the way she is plagued by the realization she needs to go home. Ten years ago she broke her engagement a month before the wedding and didn't look back and has never been back. Sure, she has looked back plenty but never contacted anyone. It turns out she rolls into town and her childhood home looks better than it did when she was growing up and showing up at the diner was as blast from the past and open arms are waiting for her. Later that night she runs into the only man she has ever loved and the one she left. She is met with anger, as expected, but after he calms down he seeks her out the next day. Oh, you have to read this one. This not only the story of forgiveness but it is a reaffirmation that it is never too late to go back. I highly recommend this one!

Aubrey was going to be late to a very important meeting with the producer for the new movie she was to direct, this movie was going to be the biggest movie of the year. . She couldn’t find her keys than her best friend Emilia/Em called and told her where they were. Em was an A list actress. It would look bad if Aubrey was late with this first meeting. Aubrey had more money in the bank than she knew what to do with. Her mother had nurtured Aubrey’s dream to be a director and sent her to filmmaking camp every summer in N Y. There she was noticed by big time director Norman Reed and he took her under his wing. Aubrey worked with Norman for three years until he passed away. As Aubrey was ready to leave her doctor and friend Brad called and he wanted to see her that day. After Aubrey persisted to tell Brad to tell her he said she had a rare blood disease that affects the plasma cells that was important to her immune system. Than he told her people who have this disease don’t live very long. Aubrey thought about after her parents had died in a car accident when Aubrey was eighteen she felt compelled to do something important, fulfill her dreams. But out if everything she had did Aubrey felt regret. She needed to get into to see Brad and get those addition tests done . How she wished she had done things differently in here life. There were so many things she thought she had time to do. Emilia and brad showed up at Aubrey’s house and Brad told her there had been a mixup she wasn’t about to die. Aubrey knew there was something she wanted to do more than the movie. Aubrey was going on an adventure. To live life to the fullest and travel around the world among the other hundreds of things she wanted to accomplish. Em said she needed a game plan and they created a bucket list for Aubrey. Aubrey’s life was now going to be about living. Among other things Aubrey said maybe she’ll even fall in love. She had been in love with someone once. Aubrey was first headed to Seattle than Canada than to Minnesota's state fair to get some cookies she had always talked about. Then after that she would figure it out. Aubrey knew she wanted a man like those from her hometown in Oklahoma, hardworking, strong, and respectable. Not like the men in Hollywood.Em said she would join Aubrey when she got the chance. Aubrey thought about ehr friends from HS and the man she believed was her soulmate-Cole. She wondered if Cole ever watched the award shows and saw her. She had won a lot. Aubrey started a journal so she could remember everything about her adventure. Aubrey hadn’t been home or to see Cole in ten years. The longer she stayed away the harder it was to go back. Aubrey knew she was bound to be tormented the rest of her life or until she made amends. Cole and Aubrey’s moms had been best friends . They were pregnant at the same time for them. Cole was her best friend growing up but when they became teens things changed. Cole was her first and only love. They were going to be married a month after Aubrey left. She thought she could forget but she didn’t. Aubrey made a choice to follow her dream like she had promised her mom before she did. She had been working as a dental assistant and engaged to Cole. The last time she had seen Cole he had been so angry at her. Little did he know that her heart had been broken to leave him behind even when he offered to go with her but Aubrey said no she couldn’t do that to Cole. He was never a big city guy. She didn’t want to leave him but she was afraid. There was no way she could Hollywood and marry Cole and pursue her dream. Aubrey wanted to go back but a part of her couldn’t stand his rejection or admit now to her mistakes. Finding him would only cause problems. Especially if her was with someone else. She wanted to know he was ok and she wrote his name on her bucket list. Aubrey knew it would hurt to see Cole again. He didn’t even have to know she was around. She just wanted to see him one last time. Aubrey would never move on if she didn’t face her past.
I loved this book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I didn’t want to put it down. It grabbed me from the first page and held my attention until the last. I loved the ending. I choked up at times while reading this book. I loved how cole’s family did forgive her for leaving him and breaking his heart. I loved Cole and Aubrey together and how they interacted. I loved how Cole’s parents steeped up for Aubrey when her parents died. I also loved how Cole took some of the blame on himself for not following Aubrey no matter what she said. I loved the characters and thuis ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend it.

Love Again
By: L.P. Dover

📚💕⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💕📚

Well let me start by saying I am a. huge fan of this L.P. Dover. She writes with so much intensity and emotion pulled from each book it’s felt page after page. Some are quick witted story lines that are so perfect and lets you believe you have a front row seat. So being able to read this love story didn’t disappoint. The authors ability to have two separate individuals struggling in their everyday life and try to navigate someone else’s thoughts, needs and desires was intense and gives all the fills. In this book the emotions are so high because you can feel the love and pain from both Aubrey and Cole.

Authors Blurb: Aubrey Reynolds is a small-town girl who’s made it big. A successful Hollywood director, Aubrey doesn’t have time to linger on what could have been. But when a routine blood test comes back with a false positive, she decides to take some time off to do the things she’s always wanted to do: taste the famous chocolate chip cookies at the Minnesota State Fair, hike the Grand Teton National Park, scuba dive in the Caribbean. But after Aubrey admits to herself what she’s really missing, she heads back home to Dusty Valley, Oklahoma . . . and the man she left behind.

Cole Haywood is a small-town fireman and that’s just fine with him. Sure, when the love of his life left their hometown to chase her dreams he was heartbroken and—he’ll admit—damn mad. But Cole would have never forgiven himself if he had held Aubrey back from success. So the last thing he expects after all these years is to walk into his favorite bar one night and find the girl he’s always loved—there—looking for him. Maybe now’s the time to make his dreams come true.

I really enjoyed this book and it kept me engrossed throughout. I really loved the characters and the way they interacted with each other. This is a fun, hot, romantic must read book and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.

This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.

Thanks Netgally for letting me read and review.📚💕

This was a short story about a second chance love. Aubrey gets a diagnosis that makes her rethink her life choices. So she makes a bucket list of things she wants to do. But the one thing she is afraid to do is face Cole the love of her life an ex fiance that she left a week before the wedding.
The story was pretty good if not a little bit too easy to reconnect with each other. I like a little more angst with my story line. The only thing that really bothered me about this story was about 75% into the story they take a vacation/ journey together that just kind of slows down the story for me.

When Aubrey received horrible news from her doctor, she realizes that there are a few regrets that she lives with every day of her life. Stunned by the news, she stops (everything) until her best friend shows up, with her doctor. On paper, it appears she had everything, but she is actually unhappy, so she decides to create and live or her bucket list. Even when she finds out that the wrong results were read.
Cole was Aubrey's fiancee until she left town. When she shows up in town again, he is stunned and treats her badly. He is angry at her, and himself. When his brother makes a comment about starting something with her, Cole realizes that he still loves her.
I liked how, after the initial shock and pain wore off, they were able to discuss things calmly. I also liked all of the side characters. A great story about second chances and not letting anything stop you when her a second chance.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.

Love, Again by L.P. Dover

What an amazing beautiful second chance romance! I feel in love with the story and the characters. It drew me right in and I surely didn't want it to end!

"I knew I'd never love anyone like I do you."

"Always follow your dreams, but don't leave the ones you love behind. You might come to find it's too late if you do."

A very must read!
