I love stories like this. It always fascinated me about the Underground Railroad. When I first heard about it in William Henry is a fine name I was like his friend. Was the Underground really a train they used? But tgen I read on and I found out different. I felt all kinds of foolish then lol
But really it is truly a dangerous job. I think I would help as a conductor if I lived back then. Yes I would understand the risks but I think it would be what God wants.
I enjoyed this book as well too. There's not many I don't like. Story was well researched and written to pull the reader in from the beginning. Let me tell you, I hated to come back to the present!! I have a certain love for these stories!
I recommend this book if you like stories like these
My thanks to Netgalley. NO compensations were received. All opinions are my own.

Freedom's Path is the first book I have read in this series. I really liked the characters and the setting. There is a lot of Underground Railroad history in the area where I live. I have always found it fascinating. I would recommend this book.

An excellent addition to the DEERBOURNE INN series from Wild Rose Press. it was interesting seeing the past life of the Inn as brought to life by Ms. Carroll-Bradd. The characters were well rounded and I enjoyed the way their "relationship" grew against the background of the Civil War. All in all, a great addition to this series.

Sidonie Demers worked as a Serving girl and maid in the historic Deerborne Inn. But her passion is her work as a conductor on the underground railroad.
Knowing the dangers, she willingly takes the risk. When a customer she had taken notice of before returns and a spark is there. Will things work out? or will Danger Drive them apart? Where will they end up, perhaps on opposite sides? A great, edge of your seat story!
