A book about the concrete mixer. It gives information on how concrete is made, what the mixer drum does, how many wheels the truck has, etc. It also has a quiz at the end. Photographs were big and clear.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the eARC

My husband is an architect and he often takes are kids to job sites. Our boys really enjoyed this book and learning about the machines, and so did I.

Large photos with small captions tell kids everything they wanted to know about concrete mixers. . . probably more.
It’s all done rather dryly—no pun—and I wonder how long the reader is going to be interested in things like the ingredients to make concrete. Probably not long enough to answer the quizzes.
I’d imagine every time a kid comes across a mixer after reading this. . . be patient, mom.

What a great gender neutral book about concrete mixers. It is for a younger crowd, and the pictures are clear. I love the "My favorite" series of books and think they are great for little ones 3-5.

Netgalley gave me this book for free in exchange for my honest review.

A great book about concrete mixers for boys and girls alike. The children will love the pictures and learn about the mixers at the same time

Another well-photographed offering in the "My Favorite . . . " series. This time, it's concrete mixers. What child isn't fascinated by this big moving machine? Why does the mixing drum keep spinning? What items are mixed together to make concrete? Where do the trucks bring the cement? How many wheels do the trucks have? All of these questions are answered in this informational picture book. A glossary and answers to the "Do You Remember?" questions appear in the back of the book. Five stars.

After having some trouble downloading (it didn’t work on the kindle app on my iPad or phone, but eventually got it to work on my kindle) we were a little disappointed in this one. My 7 year old step son loves everything trucks, machines, etc. However, this is a book directed towards a younger crowd who are maybe seeing a concrete mixer for the first time and learning some basics about it. My 7 year old wants to know the in’s and outs of how it works, which we didn’t get with this book. This is probably more geared for the 2-4 age range.

My nephew loves everything and anything related to machines. This is such a fun and informative book about concrete mixers. The pictures were real and it was overall put together well.

Concrete is such an undervalued material. When my little one is a bit older, I will definitely show him the pictures of the concrete dome of the Pantheon in Rome- one the most beautiful buildings in the history of architecture.
As he is still young, he loved the photographs in ‘My favourite machine: Concrete mixers’- mostly naming colours of the drums and counting the wheels! He was surprised that concrete was made of water, sand and stones and that the mixers were so heavy. Great questions to review the information.
Looking forward to new titles in the series.
