I really enjoy Bethany Turner’s books. She isn’t afraid to write about hard things yet she does it with compassion and humor. I appreciated the wisdom that various characters brought to help Cadie grow and learn from her situation.
I LOVED the scene when Cadie met Will. I saw him clearly in my mind played by Chris Carmack (Linc from Grey’s Anatomy). The opening gave such insight into his personality that it was easy to imagine he’d do everything he did later to try to win Cadie back. I loved the way he researched romantic comedies for insight. The results were hilarious and it was great fun reliving scenes from so many movies.
Cadie was interesting to me, too. She works at the American Sports Network and knows nothing about sports….literally nothing. She won me over by not taking herself too seriously in the opening scene. I’m sure I’ll think of this scene whenever I see black frosting.
This was a delightful, well-written book. I’d recommend it….especially to anyone who likes romantic comedies. It’s a fun read. Thank you to Revell for providing me with a free e-copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
