Thank you NetGalley and Jill Amy Rosenblatt for this arc.

I understood from the blurb that this was the second of a series. As it was short and cheap I downloaded and read it first. I found the premise of the story to be very intriguing. I couldn't really make up my mind after the 1st book... is this supposed to be some zany, madcap adventure story ala Stephanie Plum or something darker, or just some type of product placement / name dropper story??? It was an okay read. I moved onto The Fixer: The Killing Kind thinking I'd gain clarification and the series continued.

I must say the for such an intriguing premise, I was completely amazed at how often Kat's glorious chestnut hair was mentioned, more intriguing were the pheromones this gal must be putting out as every other male character in the story seems determined to "possess" her and the massive amounts of money they willingly want and do to spend on her wardrobe and housing. All this for some 23 year old naïve, innocent and occasionally horny college student.

Then there was the story itself. I devolved from a silly situation to an even more ridiculous situation to complete preposterousness. Right now, I'm asking myself "Did I just really waste 4 plus hours on this book?"

Still no conclusion to the murder in book 1, but this book has a LOT of action and stuff that will be resolved. A great plot, very good pace, easy to read with short chapters and the characters are great
