Unfortunately this book was just not for me. It might have been the wrong book at the wrong time, but I just couldn't get into the story or connect with the characters.

That was a short read. It doesn’t impress me much. It has an instalove trope that is way too cliche for my liking. This story follows the romance between two pre-med students turned doctors over the span of 10 years. It started with mutual pinning and a weekend spent together but things get complicated and they had to take different paths. They reconnected later when they were both succesful and somehow things got even more complicated.

The plot is such a mess at times I can’t help but cringe. There was a lot going on in such a short length, I felt the ending is a bit too dramatic. The characters were passive-aggressive at best. I don’t see the reason why they did what they did, but I had to confess that the kind of the steamy bit of get into my head a little that’s why it earned a star.

Overall, it was pretty much an expected read. There really nothing new to offer as far as romantic fiction goes.

Dripping sexy hero but kind of a jerk(which I tend to hate). It's a typical possessive hero which I'm slowly starting to fakk out of love with but I love romance so it hit all the beats I like

Alex knew as soon as he saw Jenny that she was the only woman he could ever love. She had never fully lived due to being isolated while growing up and he was the only one That would remind her there was so much more to life than work. Embracing love was difficult u til something reminds her life is far too short to love it alone.

Title: Doctor Holy Hotness
Series: n/a
Stand Alone Title: yes
Author: Katy Conner
Genre: Romance, Erotica
Blurb: The minute I laid eyes on Jenny Price in medical school she was mine — One look and she belonged to me. I had one chance to make her mine, but she ran away. Now I’m the Chief of Orthopedic Surgery and not much phases me. That is, until I walk into a room and see her. Dr. Jenny Price right there in front of me. She’s even more beautiful than she was years ago, and her scent makes me want her body to be my next vacation. Too bad she’s intent on picking a fight with me every other day. But when she barges into my office and brushes those soft curves against me, that’s when all the arguing turns into something else. And now that we’ve both gotten a taste, I don’t know if either of us can stop.
Favorite quote(s): “You know, a lot of episodes of Dateline start exactly like this.”
Thoughts: I wanted to like this book a whole lot more than I did. When I think of a way to describe it, the words ‘wham-bam thank-you-ma’am’ come to mind. It was very rushed, so much so that it felt like a novella. It falls under ‘erotica’, but to me it tilts a little more to the smut side rather than actual erotica (just my opinion). Story development just wasn’t strong and was very lacking…a lot of sex and not much else. The characters didn’t seem to be very well thought out, and their behaviors and actions just didn’t make sense. The bare bones of the story start out well, and the blurb appealed to me right away, but it was lacking for me in a lot of ways.
If you’re looking for sensuality, depth, and a strong storyline, this probably isn’t what you are looking for, but if you happen to be looking for a short and steamy quick read this may just be up your alley!
Rating: B-/C+

The blurb of the book was what got me excited to read it. And being a long time fan of Grey’s anatomy I was super pumped.

The story starts 10 years in the past where Alex and Jenny finally talk on the career match day. Alex has had a crush on her since the first day he saw her but doesn’t ask her out for 4 years thinking she’d turn him down. He finally does on their career match day. Jenny has known about Alex but never thought he’d be interested in her. She agrees to go out with him. Things get steamy and they spend an amazing weekend together. But everything changes when they finally open their letters and find out they have been accepted to hospitals in different states. Jenny decides that she can’t do the long distance and that Alex would eventually break her heart so she ghosts him. Fast forward 10 years and Alex is hired as the new head of Ortho at the same Colorado teaching hospital where Jenny is the head of radiology finally reuniting the two. Alex wants answers & Jenny has to finally stop hiding.

It is a fast paced quick read. But the story was too quick and underdeveloped for my liking. It is 16 chapters long so I wasn’t expecting a lot of character development. I liked the chemistry between Alex & Jenny. I would have loved to see more of their relationship in the present . I found Jenny annoying at times because she doesn’t think and jumps to conclusions allowing her past to cloud her judgment.

The story has a lot of potential but would have been better as a full length novel.

Overall I liked it. I read it in one sitting so it did hook me. Katy Connor is a new to me author and I plan to read more from her in the future. If you’re looking for a quick and steamy doctor romance I’d recommend it.

I enjoyed this book it was a really quick read story, something to loose your mind in.

Alex has had a crush on Jenny since the first day he saw her in medical school. He finally asks her on a date. They finally decide to go on a date have a great sex filled weekend and then she writes him a "Dear John," letter, and she was gone just like that. She has a successful career at her hospital and fast forward ten years later and guess who the new doctor is at the Hospital where Jenny works??? Yep sure enough Alex....Dr Holy Hotness in the flesh.
This was my first read by this author and I would read more of these types of books just remember its super easy read and easy to guess what the out come of the story is.

Alex and Jenny spend an amazing weekend before finding where will they start their doctor career. And because of fear Jenny disappears from Alex life until 10 years later they become colleagues in the same hospital. Attractions and chemistry are still off the chart hot but Jenny is still afraid until something almost rips Alex of her life. Short hot and steamy interesting story all wrapped in anyone read.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

Sparks fly between Alex and Jenny during medical school but she ran. Now they she each other years later and those sparks are still there and Alex doesn’t plan on letting Jenny slip away again. Fast-paced read with interesting characters. Just wish it had been longer. A good read.

The blurb was very catching... but the actual book was boring unfortunately 😫 I’m so sorry... but both the characters were ‘meh’ (with the heroine being even more ‘meh’) and the storyline was a bit rushed and confusing.

They would get into arguments for literally nothing, and then even more random drama would be created for the sake of it.

I really couldn’t feel the chemistry between them - and all in all it was boring 😕

Fun, flirty and totally satisfying. “Dr Holy Hotness” hooked me on the first page and I couldn’t put it down. I loved this smart, funny, and sexy second chance romance. I love having the opportunity to escape with a fantastic story and “Dr Holy Hotness” is just what I needed. A gem of a book. Highly recommend

Before I read the book I checked it on Goodreads and I was surprised by the low rating it had, so I got a little prejudiced. As it turns out, the book wasn't that bad. It needed more pages because I felt like the characters and the story needed some development. Still, I feel like 3.5 stars is a better average rating for the book and while that is my rating, I will round it up to 4 to help the book. The book is a novella so I wasn't expecting a lot of character development to happen. Jenny is very skittish which was a little frustrating. I was expecting things to go smoothly between Jenny and Alex in present time and that didn't happen because of her. A part of the book is dedicated to showing us what happened 10 years ago and the rest of the book is about how Alex won Jenny's heart. I was very happy when I found out that both of them were celibate for the last ten years (even though we know that's unrealistic).

This was my first book by this author.
I enjoyed this book although it was a quick read. There was plenty of chemistry and drama. It was a insta-love story. Quite enjoyable overall.

I really liked the blurb of this book, so I was looking forward to reading this story. I wasn't aware that this is only a novella.

Half of the story is set in the past when Jenny and Alex met at Havard university on the day when they find out where their career paths will take them. Things are starting to get steamy real fast, which felt way too rushed for me. I also found this part of the story very dragging.
In the second part Jenny and Alex met again after 10 years into their career and here the drama starts. I found Jenny very annoying and couldn't understand her decisions which changed daily as well. The drama at the end was absolutely unnecessary and I don't like this method to change the characters decisions.

I couldn't really connect with the characters and wasn't a real fan of both, though Alex was ok most of the time.

The story has a lot of potential but would have worked better as a full novel I think.

There was a lot of heat in this book but not much substance. It wasn’t super realistic and was borderline unbelievable at times. I didn’t really connect with either main character.

I worried this book would be a bit cheesy. I was wrong.
I really enjoyed it and read it in one sitting. I enjoyed the characters and found it well written and enjoyable.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
