EVERYTHING INSIDE by Danticat Edwidge is a collection of eight short stories that I read last month. I purchased this one a while ago and I had it sitting on my shelves and last month I just felt compelled to read it⠀
⠀
This collection is just so well written (Danticat is a marvelous writer) and I am so happy to have experienced it, I truly enjoyed every story I read although I do have a few favorites such as The Gift, Sunrise,Sunset and Seven Stories. All of the stories have a keen observation of the human heart, intertwined with wisdom. A lot of it felt introspective as we go through each story and that's the form of storytelling I find I am drawn to the most. ⠀
⠀
Anyway, I cannot recommend this collection enough I find that it was such a good collection that every story was beautiful, and I have a new found appreciation for Danticat Edwidge

Danticat is one of those writers who believes in writing about the unspeakable and the uncomfortable. This book is no exception. True to form, she explores many difficult topics in these eight stories about relationships both intimate and social. Danticat's razor-sharp eye misses very little of the darker aspects of human nature and her masterful prose renders it all with humanity and empathy. To read one of her short stories is to immerse ourselves wholly into the most essential emotions that we may avoid in our daily lives. But doing so in this manner enriches and enlightens us so that we are able to return to the everyday and mundane with freshly-laden perspectives of what it means to love, be loved, lose, live, and die.
