I can’t not wait for this to be released! @Netgalley had a little teaser as an advanced readers copy for a review. Which I grabbed with both hands I adore Shelly Laurenston.

This instalment features Shen Li, a giant panda shifter and Stevie MacKilligan is the youngest of the three MacKilligan sisters—the one they protect.

I’m not sure how I’ll manage until the full copy is published in March 😫 it’s so good! Funny, quirky and action packed!

EDIT: I managed to get my hands on the full release and man oh man it didn’t disappoint. I ADORE strong intelligent women, but I especially adore a man (or panda 🐼 in this case) who doesn’t feel threatened by it. Bloody love Stevie and Shen such an adorable couple! And don’t get me started on sisterly bond. LOVE LOVE LOVE this book 📚

Previously had just read the excerpt for this book, and was not impressed. Glad I took a chance on the full book, and I loved it! Another great hit by a wonderful author. This one has Stevie, who has two crazy half sisters that are a mixture of a variety of shifters, but all share a honey badger as a father. Shen is a panda, who is a security guard for Kyle, Stevie's friend, and therefore is around Stevie a lot, and sparks and snarky comments abound. Hard to put this one down, and one I highly recommend. Has a dark element too, but it is not overwhelming. Great author, story and series. Keep them coming.

After having read the preview, I was excited to get the full length version of Stevie and Shen Li’s book. Shen Li works as a body guard for Stevie’s best friend Kyle, a jackal shifter, who like her is a genius prodigy with her specialties being science and music. One of three half-sisters, each with different types of shifter mothers, who were raised together always seen as outcasts. Stevie is the youngest who is very sensitive, especially to bears which is a problem since they are staying in a bear neighborhood. She has always been protected by her very lethal sisters, Charlie and Max MacKilligan. Their father wanted boys, but life is full of disappointments. Stevie is a honey badger hybrid with some very unique attributes. Everyone seems to want to own her extraordinary mind and talents including the government and scientists who mean little Stevie harm.

Shen agrees to guard Stevie while her sisters try to figure out who is kidnapping shifter hybrids and experimenting on them in a deadly way. They also have to deal with Scottish Badger cousins visiting who are not amused at the sisters’ worthless, idiot father who swindled them. Shen is a peaceful, bamboo loving Giant Panda who is basically happy all the time. He has quite a challenge protecting Stevie since she has panic attacks with strange freak outs and often causes mayhem wherever she goes.

As in the first book of the series, Hot and Badgered, this one is quite a mix of humor, adventure including a high body count, and a romance that sometimes takes a backseat to the all that is going on. Ms. Laurenston has a talent for making bizarre situations humorous in a very creative shifter world. Her shifter heroines may look like ordinary women, but they pack a big punch. Max, the middle sister’s book is next; I am sure with her wild proclivities, it will be a crazy, outlandish free for all.

5 star read ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

In a Badger way was such a fun read I spent much of it with a big smile on my face or laughing, which I have come expect with Shelly Laurenston. I love the humour snark and sarcasm she injects into her books.

This was Stevie and Shen’s book I was so looking forward to this just from there interactions in the previous book I knew it was going to be good. There is so much going on in this story it grabs you in and doesn’t let go until the final page.

We also get to catch up with characters from other series, so there were multiple POVs but it was in no way confusing it’s clear and easy to follow everything that’s going on.

There’s an ongoing storyline which carries over from the previous book which will be interesting to see as the drama unfolds and where it’s going to lead.

What are the twins going to do next?
Who’s gonna make the mistake to cross the sisters?
Can these badgers get any more entertaining?

The romance was perfect for them poor Shen didn’t stand a chance no way was Stevie letting her panda go, he was all hers. And once they got going well they kept on going it was lots of hot steamy goodness. They also supported each other I liked how his crunching bamboo relaxed her if it would have been me I would have whacked him on the head with it lol but they were very cute together.

And I loved wild dog night that was amazing I wasn’t sure what to expect from the sisters they definitely surprised me those scenes where fun.

I enjoyed my visit to this world and can’t wait for the next book.

Thank you to Netgalley for generously providing me with the opportunity of this ARC

I always have a great time with all the shifters and I know one thing for certain, I am never bored when I read them. There is a lot of moving pieces throughout the book (as per usual with a Laurenston book) that I truly believe for maximum enjoyment, you should read her previous books. There are so many great characters that you want to know them all since almost all of them are in each story. I mean you don’t have to, but come on, why would you not want to read them? Everyone is so awesome!

Ahhh I love these crazy badger sisters. They have rock solid loyalty to each other and I giggle a lot when they fight with each other. The one thing that I wish we got more of, is Stevie and Shen time together. There’s a ton on Stevie and her two sisters, but I really felt Shen was a secondary character instead of a main one. The parts they were together were all kinds of wonderful but I just wish there was more togetherness. What’s hard is that there is soooo much drama and chaos that surrounds the sisters that there was a time or two that I forgot about Shen. But I still dig that happy panda who likes to hang out in a tree while munching on his bamboo. Seriously, so adorable.

I can’t wait to read Max’s book. That girl is scary crazy and it’s going to be fun watching her fall in love. Talk about gird your loins!

There’s never a time I won’t read Shelly Laurenston when she produces amazing stories like this.
This is the continuation from Charlie’s story and now follows Stevie the other hybrid MacKilligan series and showing her with her panic attacks from her fear of bears!
She’s a prodigy and is also has mental health issues, they visit their friends Kyle’s parents house the Louise Parker’s when Stevie shifts after Blayne tries to hug her from behind. This culminates in damage to the property and a trip to psychiatric shifters. We see Shen always in the background in his bodyguard capacity watching Kyle and watching the drama unfold for the MacKilligan sisters.
I love these books for the humour and the by play between characters there’s so much and Shelly manages to have multiple storylines running together simultaneously but most of us are familiar with this from her other series which she easily merged into this as we see a few faces from past books.
A wonderful, hilarious, hot and action packed book as ever bring on Max’s story I can’t wait!

Great fun romp of a book, with an interesting cast of three violent and funny shifter sisters, and their crazy family. Obviously part of some long running series, there was a huge cast list of characters, that were a little hard to keep track of, so I would recommend that you read the earlier books first if you want to understand the context a bit better.

The book was funny, and I really liked the hero, Shen, a calm and happy go lucky panda shifter who is a great foil for the more angst ridden heroine Stevie, and her sisters Max and Charlie.

I lop Ed the funny touches, such as Shen’s passion for eating bamboo really noisily, used as a plot device to irritate people.

The plot concerns an ex-boyfriend of Stevie’s who is suspected of experimenting on shifters, and also how genius level brain Stevie, who is an accomplished scientist and musician, can cope with her panic attacks and nervousness in many situations, so that she doesn’t shift into an enormous honey badger and wreck buildings and people.

I particularly liked the way Shen was not at all threatened by Stevie’s intelligence, and also how Stevie was the pursuer in their relationship.

Lots of fun, although I think I need to read the previous series to understand the relationships and context of many of the characters.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

The MacKilligan sisters are back and the over the top ridiculousness they bring is fantastic here. I adored Shen and his relationship with Stevie although it started out quite odd...which for Stevie is too be expected. We get to see a few of our past favorites...or at least mine, long time no see Miki and my favorite dysfunctional family of prodigies. I always enjoy the overlapping storylines this author is masterful at putting together. If you haven’t read this author..go to the beginning and work your way here, and don’t forget the Crows(my personal fav series of hers) and if you are a fan...you will not be disappointed, just impatient for the next!

This is a review of the teaser...not the entire book.
I absolutely love this authors work, she never fails to deliver quirky characters that draw you in and engage you. I’ve loved Shen since we first met him, who wouldn’t want to hug that big panda? The MacKilligan sisters are an absolute riot and I am so happy to get more of them. For lovers of this author this will be a must read, if you haven’t read her work go to the beginning and make your way here. I feel a reread of her work coming on just from this teaser.

I loved the explosive characters and their snark. In fact they are certifiably insane and slapstick comedy funny. Max and her unload her glands gagged me then make me chuckle. These characters are anything but ordinary. This author has a unique style and always makes her stories memorable. Truly I alternated between shaking my head or giving an evil chuckle. And to say nothing about The Zing!

Never have I laughed so much or so loud when reading a romance novel. Ms. Laurenston manages to mesh the best elements of a romance--heart, heat, and hilarity--to produce one of the best books I've read all year. I know my patrons will be thrilled when this arrives.

The Honey Badger Chronicles #2, I didn't get a chance to read the first book in the series but after starting this one I didn't feel it absolutely necessary to read the first. It explains well enough how the three sisters came to be especially since one is full honey badger, Max very protective and very violent, the oldest, Charlie, is half wolf and basically a helicopter mom for the sisters, and the youngest sister Stevie is half tiger and she's... well this is her book.

Stevie is a former child prodigy in science and music but like many geniuses she has extreme social and anxiety issues. Shen was initially hired to be the bodyguard for a sixteen year old child prodigy, Kyle who lives with the sisters and whose only real friend is Stevie, but when Stevie gets asked to look into one of her ex-boyfriends because he may or may not be experimenting on hybrids like her Shen feels it's his duty to protect Stevie.

The plot takes a roundabout way of getting to the point because the characters keep getting distracted by other things, like all the sisters having to go in to see psychologist, someone hugs Stevie she freaks out and shifts and almost tears a house apart, there's a death in the family and they have to deal with honey badger drama, and of course there is the romance between Stevie and Shen. Shen is physically attracted to Stevie but he had a hard time reconciling the fact that he is older and she's freaking brilliant and he's not. Stevie doesn't care the cat part of her has already claimed him as hers it takes her literally throwing herself at him before he gets the message.

Overall, it was a great book. If you've read Shelly Laurenston before you know her style humor if not you are in for a treat, as long as you like strong, foul mouthed, sassy, crazy women who can hold their own in a fight, and in Max's case fight dirty. I love Laurenston's female characters and the guys aren't too shabby either they are strong enough to hold their own against the women and smart enough to understand them. Her writing is adventurous, humorous, and hot as heck, I still have a bunch of her books I need to read but every single one that I have read I've loved.

Cute read, and a good follow up to Hot and Badgered. I was pleasantly surprised at how Stevie and Shen clicked, although to me this was less about them as a couple, and more of a mystery and action caper. My main complaint is the miracle medicine that Stevie gets that appears to almost completely "cure" her. Seemingly overnight she goes from nonfunctional to slightly quirky. Ignoring that this was an entertaining adventure and I'm looking foreward to Max's story. 3.5 Stars

I love shen and have been waiting for his book since he was introduced in the pride series. I didn't expect him with stevie but they made a great match and are so cute together. I can't wait for max's book!! This book and series is a definite must read!

I received an advanced reader's copy of In a Badger Way by Shelly Laurenston from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was the second book of the Honey Badger series - first being Hot and Badgered - and it was HILARIOUS. I'm so glad it wasn't a let down from the first fantastic book in the series. [I really cannot wait for the third book staring their middle sister, Max!] The first book made me laugh, but In a Badger Way made me snort water through my nose while reading and attempting to take a drink.

The main characters, Stevie the genius honey badger/tiger shifter and Shen the giant panda, have fantastic banter and their chemistry just clicks. I like how Shen balances Stevie and helps her gain control of herself or her surroundings without being overbearing.

All in all, In a Badger Way was a very entertaining read. It was fast paced with the plot and the steamy scenes really were hot. Five stars!

Is it March yet???

Ok, so I just finished the copy I received from Netgalley. And can I just say- Worth It!! The story was fun, and brought both Magnus Pack and Pride series characters in on the story, and left tons of places this could go in the future. Also- I really want to see Dee Ann and Max team up for something. That could be both epic and terrifying at the same time. I also would love to see what Dutch really gets up to when he disappears. Also- never mess with badgers. For those of you who have never read anything in this series, I’d recommend starting at the Magnus Pack, and then go to the Pride books, but you’ll still enjoy the heck out of it.

This is a wonderful entry in the author’s Honey Badger Chronicles. The women are fearless, reckless, and hilarious. I love the dynamic between the three sisters, though it is a little dysfunctional. That does add to the humor though.

Laurenston is very talented at developing a rich and multifaceted world of shifters. I have found the shape shifting genre to be a little saturated with similar stories but this series is original and fun to read.

I also love the relationships she creates. The men do not seek to control the women or hold them back in any way. The romance unfolds in an interesting way and is also wonderfully steamy!

I would not suggest someone dive in to the series with this book simply because the cast is large and confusing without the foundation laid in the first book. If you haven’t read Charlie and Berg’s book, what are you waiting for?! You can catch up to this one, have a wonderful time reading it, and then eagerly await the third!

I love this series. I re-read these books about 20 times throughout the year and wait for the next one to be released.
In this book we get a new story but also see what is happening in the lives of characters introduced in previous books. These books are a hoot...the characters make the story. Loved it, already reread twice.

Manic! Hilarious! Shelly Laurenston does it again. In a Badger Way is the crazy wonderful tale of genius tiger/honey badger hybrid Stevie MacKilligan falling in love with cute panda shifter Shen Li. I love the MacKilligan sisters and their insane brand of love but Shen never sees it coming. This story will leave your sides hurt from laughing and your heart filled with love. A must read.

Filled with laugh-out-loud moments, tension, action, and some steamy moment In a Badger Way is a solid addition to the Honey Badger Chronicles. I devoured this book. Shen is adorable and Stevie grew on me as she made efforts to meet her new therapist’s recommendations. Their romance was reminiscent of the "stray-dog it" comment Stevie made to Berg in Hot and Badgered with a delightful little twist to fit Stevie's character. The running jokes and cameos make this world a treasure.

As a veteran reader and fan of Shelly Laurenston’s work, I know to expect a fast-paced book with several perspective jumps within a chapter. I enjoy seeing everyone’s thoughts and the behind the scenes actions but in this book, I think this style worked against the story. I was disappointed that Shelly didn’t spend more time with Stevie’s attempts to go undercover as it was listed as the main plot point. When we finally reached that portion, it was warp speed and I didn’t get to enjoy Stevie’s badassery the same as with her sisters.

Even so, I thoroughly enjoyed Shen and Stevie’s romance and I can hardly wait to read Max’s book and more spin-offs after that! I will be crowing about this book until we start receiving news about the next installment! I truly hope Laurenston continues writing in this world as I would love to read more about Toni’s siblings and Dutch’s family.
