A triumphant return to this much loved series about Vampires and all the associated immortals they exist with. I wasn't exactly sure how Chiron and his previous actions would fit but happily my favourite Vampire King is magnanimous enough to admit to mistakes and give Chiron valuable information. Now Chiron is no fool but does agree to take Levet with his affinity for magic with him as he searches for someone who has been lost for a long time. However winding up in a hidden, magical hotel in the Everglades isn't exactly what Chiron had in mind but with a beautiful, mysterious owner named Lilah perhaps Chiron is exactly where he's meant to be ?
I love that I never quite know just what this authors imagination will dream up next and this crazy hotel was very unexpected. Chiron might be unsure about what Lilah is exactly due to the mysterious magic reverberating around but theres definitely something not quite right. Luckily there's always Levet to rely on but with brandy that needs drinking will Levet save the day this time ?
As much as I liked the lead couple for me it's Levet that steals every scene he is in. Chiron is so loyal and determined to rescue his imprisoned master Tarak but the author cleverly dangles supporting characters that mean already I'm longing for more. I'm reluctant to give away the plot involving Lilah but will say there's huge clues if you breathe in (hint) about exactly what magic is being used and this was fun, exciting and such a wonderful way to while away a few hours.

Darkness Returns by Alexandra Ivy is another thrilling and compelling instalment in the Guardians of Eternity series.

Feeling overwhelming guilt for having a part in his master’s disappearance and imprisonment, Chiron accepts a magical scroll from Styx that will lead him to a key that will free him.

In search of the key, he is led deep into the Everglades where the magic is potent and this is where he meets Lylah.

Lylah’s past and who and what she is, is cloaked in mystery. But the fireworks that spark between them is more than obvious.

Are they fated to be together or is this all a big magic trick?

Consuming, spellbinding and addictive, this book takes a hold of you and doesn’t let go.

I want more Chiron. I loved his character. He is alpha-male, protective, trustworthy and loyal.

Lilah is a sweet and caring character. I was surprised by her history.

I have read several books in this series and although I have missed a few of the most recent releases, reading this book is like coming home again.

The touch on previous characters, Styx and Viper makes me want to return and reread their stories.

Levet, OMG! I have a missed him. He is the most unique character! He is comedic and cute all in one.

From laugh-out-loud moments to edge of your seat suspense, this author has a way of writing that engages the reader and keeps their rapt attention to the very end.

Not only does she write compelling main characters but secondary ones as well.

I want stories from almost every secondary character in this book from Ulric, what a sexy wolf, to Inga, Levet not to mention Tarak. I’m absolutely obsessed!

A phenomenal paranormal romance that can’t be beat.

I received an ARC via NetGalley of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Chiron was outcast from the vampires when he dared to say his master Tarek was a prisoner and not just banished. When the new Anasso, King of the vampires, discovers a witches scroll that reveals he is imprisoned, Chiron embarks on the trip with Levet to find the key and release him. Lilah runs a paranormal "hotel" that is hidden from humans in the everglades. Levet leads them there, where the magic from the key resonates. I relly like the authors worldbuilding, characters, and the brevity woven into this story from the tiny gargoyle Levet. Yes, beware the cliffhanger. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC from Netgalley.

Great book. I don't know if it was meant to feel like a cliff hanger or not. It felt very unfinished and left a lot open.

I love this series and Levet is back. He is helping Chiron look for a key to release his master. They go to a hidden demon hotel in Florida. There Chiron meets his mate Lihah.
Lots of adventures but then the book ends in a cliffhanger. Can’t wait to see how it ends.

So excited that Alexandra Ivy is continuing her Guardians of eternity series. Couldn't wait to read this book. It was amazing. Love Levet, the misguided gargoyle. Chiron is living with guilt of helping imprison his friend. Goes searching for the key and falls for Lilah. The adventure keeps going. Can't wait for the next book. A must read.

Chiron can realize when his game is lacking, "Chiron silently cursed. He was behaving as awkwardly as a drunken kobold. No wonder she was eyeing him with sudden suspicion." Sometimes Lilah has to step in and keep the storm away, "...Levet insisted. “I am once again the hero.” As if trying to avoid the inevitable battle, Lilah smoothed her fingers down Chiron’s throat." I liked this book, I loved Chiron.

I am really enjoying the Guardians of Eternity series! This story features Chiron, a wealthy vampire who is searching for his long imprisoned master, and Lilah, a gorgeous hotel owner who can't remember her past. Lilah and her hotel have a mysterious past hidden by magic. Chiron needs to uncover the key but he realizes that Lilah is his mate which complicates everything. Great paranormal romance!

Alexandra Ivy pulled together another great plot and chacaters that are strange yet interesting!

Chiron is tasked to find his master, who was imprisoned.
His companion is an annoying midget gargoyle who is able to see through magic.
They arrive at a demon hotel that proves to be a challenge for them.

Lilah the owner of the demon hotel has a problem with her memory.
As the search begins, Inga the ogress takes on a hostile attitude.

Alexandra Ivy gives you action wrapped around romance all the way to the end!

Chiron is a vampire who owns casinos and resorts. He finds out his master wasn’t banished but taken and held prisoner. With the help of an aggravating gargoyle, they are led to a hotel in the Everglades. Lilah owns the hotel with her ogress nanny/friend and hasn’t left the grounds in years. Now a handsome vampire has arrived and shaken up their world. Lilah has no memories of her younger years but with Chiron arriving, and finding out they are mates, she wants them back. Can they find Chiron’s missing master and live happily ever after?
Shifters, witches, vampires, and other paranormal. Mystery wrapped in suspense. There is a cliffhanger. I really liked the characters and the story will keep you guessing.
