Ami and Dane are getting married. Ami won almost every part of her wedding, including the honeymoon in Hawaii through contests. Disaster strikes when everyone at the reception gets sick. Everyone except Olive, Ami’s twin and Ethan, Dane’s brother. Olive and Ethan are less than thrilled when they discover they will be going to Maui together since they have been enemies since they first met.

This story brings both proximity and enemies-to-lovers trope. Weaving between the two, the author gives us a comical and engaging book. The majority is based in Maui where several awkward moments arise.

I enjoyed this book tremendously and finished it in two days. It was easy to read and flowed with just enough attraction v. trouble to keep it interesting. It was easy to cheer for Olive as she comes to realize the angry, pessimistic attitude that is the take away from people who meet her is not how she wants to be. The reader gets the privilege of walking the path of change with her.

This is a fun book about a couple who hate one another based on misperceptions. Once they are stuck together for ten days, they can’t help liking one another, even when being snarky. I suggest you pick up The Unhoneymooners as your first beach read of the season.

My favorite Christina Lauren book yet! I don't know how they manage to top themselves each and every time, but they certainly do. The Unhoneymooners is sweet, sexy, and utterly hilarious. Once I picked it up I read it cover to cover, laughing out loud over and over, and then stressing out over how they could possibly work things out!

Olive and Ethan cannot stand each other, but by sheer luck end up in Hawaii on what should have been someone else's honeymoon. They figure they can surely survive some time in paradise avoiding each other and basking in the sun. Fate, however, has different plans for them.

This was a stay-up-until-2-am read for me, because I couldn’t wait to find out how the book would end. Not because the story was suspenseful, I was just that invested in the characters.

The premise of the story is built on two common tropes in Romance novels. The first is forced-proximity, which is a trope that I love. The other is enemies-to-lovers, which is one that I usually don’t like. But in this book it worked so well, driving the whole romance plot, big also driving a “heroine vs herself” conflict as well. It is this conflict that I really appreciated as the heroine was dealing with some things about herself that she needed to overcome, but also some places where she learned to trust herself.

The Romance was very good, giving me the swoon-y feels for this couple. The journey of Olive and Ethan to go from “enemies” to lovers was believable, despite some serious obstacles. I recommend it. Having only read one book by this author before that I didn’t enjoy as much as this book, I plan to look for some more books by this writing team.

I did receive a free copy of this book for review via Netgalley, but, it was so good I imagine I will buy it as well, since I will want to read it again.

Olive and Ethan are one of my top couple of the year!

A great enemies to lovers story! This book will definitely be in my top reads for 2019. The banter between Olive and Ethan was brilliant and smart. I had some great laugh out loud moments and was rooting for the two "enemies" from the moment they started their fake "honeymoon".

If you're looking for a sexually tense, fun-filled, entertaining, quick-witted read - Pick this book up.

The Unhoneymooners is probably one of my favorite books by Christina Lauren, after Beautiful Bastard. This book is pure Rom-Com gold! I haven’t laughed this much while reading a book in a while.
This book is an enemies to lovers/fake romance story. Olive and Ethan are forced to go on their siblings honeymoon after an unfortunate incident at a wedding. Olive, twin of the bride, claims to be unlucky. Especially compared to her twin sister. Despite getting to enjoy some time in paradise (which I would claim to be lucky), she has to spend it with one person she can’t stand. Her brother-in-laws brother, Ethan (aka the man she can’t stand).
While enjoying time in Hawaii, Olive and Ethan run into people they know back home and pretend to be newlyweds enjoying their honeymoon, of course they still can’t stand each other. Olive is still hurt about how Ethan treated her when they first met and Ethan, well he just thanks Olive hates him. There is an attraction between the two of them and they have great chemistry. Their banter is great throughout the story.
I absolutely love Olive and Ami’s family. They had me cracking up anytime they were involved throughout the entire story. Ami’s husband, not a fan of the man. AT ALL. I couldn’t stand him from the very beginning. He and Ethan are COMPLETE opposites of each other, but then again so are Olive and Ami.
If you are new to Christina Lauren or even if you’re not this book is MUST READ and a perfect read for the summer of 2019.

I loved this book! It was the exact RomCom I needed. Olive and Ami are twins in a Mexican American family and the love and support and humor of the extended family was fabulous. Ethan, who goes on the "un"honeymoon with Olive was my favorite character. The love/hate relationship was so realistic but well done! I laughed out loud numerous times and will be recommending this to others! I didn't want the book to end! Thank you to Galley Books and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this wonderful book!!

This book was exactly what I needed to get back in a reading groove! Rom-Com at its finest: The Unhoneymooners – out 5.14.19 – pre-order your copy now! This is my first of this writing duo’s many books and not my last!

Ami and Olive are twin sisters. Ami is marrying Dane, who has an older brother Ethan…Olive despises Ethan. So when all of the wedding attendees get sick (except Olive & Ethan) – including bride and groom – its only fitting that Ami’s twin, Olive pretends to be her and go on her honeymoon. Only catch: she has to pretend to be married to Ethan. 10 days in paradise with a less than ideal travel partner…or will it be the best adventure of her life?

This gem is perfectly timed with summer. Bring to the beach, to the pool, read on a rainy day – whatever you choose – just read the darn thing and grin from ear to ear while you’re at it (it will be hard not too). Man, what I wouldn’t give to see if Ethan had dimples when he smiles 😉

I received an arc of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.

What a fun romantic comedy this was! It was an enemies to lovers trope with a fake marriage thrown in there and it was absolutely hilarious. I don’t think I’ve laughed this hard reading a book in a very long time!

The book immediately opens with Olive at her sister’s wedding, and what follows was terribly gross, but oh so funny. Ethan is the brother of the groom, and Olive is the identical twin sister of the bride. I loved their characters, especially Olive. But, these two do not get along at all. Their one liners had me cackling so hard, my husband thought I’d totally lost my mind! The banter and chemistry between these two was off the charts. Their siblings are unable to go on their honeymoon, and so they go in their place to Hawaii. There were so many funny moments in Hawaii but the paintballing scene was probably my favorite. The “unhoneymoon” takes place the first half of the book and was so fun and lighthearted. The second half was much more emotional. The only thing I wanted was a little bit more of a conclusion. The end just felt so abrupt.

If you are looking for a laugh out loud romantic comedy, this is the book for you! Highly recommend, and I will definitely be rereading this again in the near future.

This is my first book of Christina Lauren and it certainly will not be my last. I went in blind with this, not reading the synopsis or knowing the premise of the story. I simply requested a copy because I saw a few posts on social media about it.

Let me just say, this book was a great way to introduce me to the authors. The Unhoneymooners is a romcom that will have you laughing out loud. I adored Olive and Ethan.

For over two years, they both seemed to hate each other, but after finding themselves in Maui on a honeymoon, truths are revealed. Both Ethan and Olive have always been truthful with each other, they both seem to dislike each other, but after a conversation, some light is shined on their relationship.

It appears, they don't hate each other, they enjoy spending time with each other, they enjoy bickering with each other, but WHY, did someone want to make sure they stayed apart. That they wanted them to hate each other.

Olive believes she has a black cloud above her head, that she is a black cat, always with bad luck. But sometimes, our luck can change and I loved going on that journey with Olive. But let's not forget about Ethan. He was what every rom-com here should be. He made me laugh, he made me swoon, and he made me hot. I love every aspect of him.

Be sure to one click The Unhoneymooners, and spend fall in love with Olive and Ethan, while they fall in love with each other!!!

Such an adorable, heartwarming, funny and cute story, it was exactly what I needed!I immediately connected with Olive and Ethan.I love that it was enemies to lovers, one of my favorite tropes.

The storyline was refreshing and I enjoyed every minute of it!Ami, Olive's sister is getting married with Dane.At the wedding party everyone gets food poisoning except from Olive and Ethan. So instead of the married couple, Ethan and Olive will take the trip to Hawaii together. The thing is these two don't get along well.

The banter between Olivie and Ethan was fantastic. I laughed out loud a lot and I had a smile on my face most of the time. There are some intense and sexy moments between them!

This is the perfect read for summer,it will make you laugh a lot and swoon. It's sexy and cute at the same time!

I adored my first book by Christina Lauren (My Favorite Half-Night Stand), but struggled I little with The Unhoneymooners. The story started out slow for me and a lot of the time Olive annoyed me. It was clear that her strong dislike of Ethan (and his apparent reciprocation of the feeling) came from misunderstandings and lack of communication. I never felt anything for them individually or as a couple. The chemistry seemed lacking.

The story mostly focuses on Olive and Ethan during their “honeymoon,” a trip her sister won but was unable to attend due to food poisoning at her wedding. There were multiple side characters, but they are fleeting and thus slightly underdeveloped. I wish we could have seen a little more characterization and dimension of Dane and Ami, not only because they are the siblings of our main characters but also because parts of the story hinge on them.

However, with the bright cover and enemies-to-lovers trope (one of my favorite), this is a good beach read that you can escape into for a little while.

I received an advanced copy through Netgalley in return for an honest review.

The Unhoneymooners is the most recent rom-com from the Christina Lauren author duo. Olive considers herself one of the most unlucky people around so when she finds herself given her sister's all expense paid honeymoon after a buffet disaster at the wedding she jumps on this chance of a lifetime. Unlucky for her she is forced to go under the rouse of being married to her "nemesis" and brother-in-law Ethan. Pretending to be a married couple turns out to be easier than they expected as faking-it leads into real feelings and experiences. When they're forced back to real life can they manage to keep the spark from the island going or is reality going to get in the way.

I liked this book but did not love it. Let's start with the characters. Olive was quirky, smart and weird which are all good characteristics for a relatable female lead. She felt like someone I would be friends with. I struggled more with Ethan. He was so closed off and off putting at first that when his character finally opened up you still felt like you couldn't trust his charm and sweetness. They had chemistry when they finally admitted to their mutual attraction.

The plot for this story was very far-fetched from the beginning that you had to suspend your expectations that normal situations would occur. Coming across two different people from their regular Minnesota life at the same resort in Maui was hard to accept although it was necessary to push the story along. The other flaw I had here is that almost all of the conflict was miscommunication. This is one of my biggest pet peeves so I struggled to move past the fact that they were enemies because they never just talked when they first met instead of arguing and ignoring each other is ridiculous.

Overall this was story had very funny moments and sweet times between Ethan and Olive but just didn't flow together well for me.

3.5 STARS

I just loved this super cute and hilarious romance! It had a serious Katherine Hepburn/Spencer Tracy vibe for me with all the verbal sparring. The story was completely predictable, but was just so much fun getting there that it didn't matter. And so, so funny! Laughing out loud, staying up past my bedtime to finish--a winner!

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the advance copy.

Olive Torres has always considered herself the unlucky twin whereas her sister Ami wins pretty much every contest and competition she enters. Case in point: Ami's lavish wedding - from the dress, to the venue, to the food at the reception, to the honeymoon - was earned on the back of Ami's relentless contest entering. In contrast, Olive has been unemployed for two months, gets to wear a skittle green bridesmaid dress that doesn't fit right, and her allergy to shellfish keeps her from eating the same food at the reception as everyone else.

Actually, it's that last one that saves her - and consequently the groom's brother, Ethan, who just doesn't like buffets - from getting the debilitating food poisoning that everyone else gets.

Not wanting her all-inclusive honeymoon to go to waste, Ami suggests Olive go instead. I mean they are identical twins so posing as her sister for ten days shouldn't be a problem. What is a problem is Ethan wants to go as well. From their first meeting about three years ago, Ethan and Olive have never gotten along, but neither is willing to back down on going on a free vacation.

As they start out with the intention of keeping as much distance as possible between themselves which proves impossible when they run into Olive's potential new boss. Now, having to actually pretend to be married forces Ethan and Olive to look at one another in a different way and to acknowledge all the misconceptions they've held.

It's probably about time for me to stop commenting on how each book Christina Lauren releases is better than the last, because it just keeps happening. I think we're in the territory now where I can just say that you can definitely count on Christina Lauren to deliver. And they're on my auto-buy/auto-read list for sure.

I really enjoyed this enemies-to-lovers story. I like the antagonism between Ethan and Olive and I equally loved seeing how their misconceptions about one another are broken down. It speaks a lot to our individual perceptions. Specifically, how men and women sometimes perceive situations differently. Or in a more roundabout way how everyone's recognition of situations differ based on how their own experiences come into play to influence their perspective. And in the case of The Unhoneymooners we get a great dose of banter and sexual tension thrown in the mix.

Something that I think missed the mark a little bit was the importance of family. It's there no question, and as the story goes on you figure out how deep familial bonds run, sometimes to the detriment of the other people in your life. Not trying to give anything away, but there are two sets of siblings featured in The Unhoneymooners: that of Olive and Ami, and Ethan and his brother Dane (Ami's new husband). Both sets of siblings have a very clear-cut difference in regards to their relationship with one another. But it's the idea of family that makes everything stick and brings them together, and I wanted these ideals explored a little more. We get some wonderful moments with Olive and Ami's very large extended family and these were some of my favorite moments of the book, but with more than half the story taking place on the (un)honeymoon of the two main characters, the family time felt a little tacked on at the end. Plain and simple I just wanted more of it, and I wouldn't be upset if we got a companion book featuring one of the cousins. Just sayin.

Overall, The Unhoneymooners is another fun, sweet, sexy romance from Christina Lauren.

Perfect beach read. This was light and funny, an adorable rom com. I loved the huge family, and Olive's relationship with them. I thought the dilemma and resolution were believable (I mean, it is a rom com, but I wasn't rolling my eyes), and Olive was a well developed character who grew and changed. Fun read.

A fun and delightful escape read! Just what I needed....

After a few emotional reads, this proved to be just what I needed for a bit of an escape to Maui with two sweet, witty characters. I fell in love with them and wanted to continue reading their story every night when I was unwinding from a stress filled day.

I'm a huge fan of stories themes involving vacation spots, weddings, twins and frenemies to romance! Nothing is complicated here, just a free vacay for me.

What is not to love? A vacation that has mishaps that made me smile, some sweet heat and cocktails, and a huge smile when I closed the book.

Looking for a light, fun, FIVE star sweet romance? Loved this one.

This book was SO FUN. Lighthearted and adorable, The Unhoneymooners is a cute, clever story that is just what I needed between heavy dramatic reads and creepy thrillers! This book made me laugh, made me smile and made me miss a lot of sleep and work :) I adored every minute of it and you better believe I'll be reading ALL the Christina Lauren books now!

Olive and her twin sister could not be more different. They are both really likeable characters in their own right and I loved the connection between them and their boisterous families. Amy is confident while Olive is a bit timid. Amy is sassy and lovable and Olive tends to be a bit quiet and reserved. But one of the biggest differences between them - seems to be luck. Of which Amy has a TON, and Olive has none.

So when Amy's winning wedding goes down in a frenzy of sick guests (think, MAJOR bad seafood barffest!) her nonrefundable prize honeymoon gets passed on to the only healthy guests remaining - Olive, and her arch nemesis in life, the grooms brother Ethan - and these two do NOT get along at all. Off to paradise they go, hoping to avoid each other at all costs in order to have a blissful free vacation. But while they attempt to pretend to be honeymooners, and try not kill each other in the process - soon, it seems, that Olives luck, just might be changing...

The most adorable story! Sure, we all know what happens and that's fine. Cause getting there is the best part! I devoured this book in one sitting, gobbling up every insult, witty flirtation, and charming scenario. This is the perfect pick me up book if you need some joy or amusement in your life - it's making me smile just writing the review!

What a delightful, funny and engaging book! I have the softest spot for romcoms that are done as well as they are by these two authors. Whenever I feel I need to cleanse my palate from my darker reads, this is the type of book that does it so perfectly.

I can completely relate to Olive and her bad luck and always feeling like the less successful one. Though I can't relate to her amazing rack or ability to look that good in a swimsuit. haha. But how lucky is she to be able to go to MAUI on her sister's honeymoon? I mean, all things aside, it's MAUI!!!! Then to be with a guy she doesn't particularly care for.... well, we all know where this is going, don't we? YES WE DO. Predictable as all get out and I DO NOT CARE. The whole thing is hilarious - I absolutely love the banter and some of her inner monologue.

When we get towards the end of the book where they're back home, the book takes a little more of a serious turn. By this point, I'm completely invested in both Olive and Ethan. Enamored. So when things go awry, well, I was FEELING IT. I don't know if it's just my current mood, the writing, or what - all I know is I felt angry FOR HER.

And like with all romcoms - I wish that real life included grand gestures. **sigh** Or maybe I should just learn like Olive to try and embrace the good and not always expect the bad. *wink*

As usual, absolutely loved this quick read by Christina Lauren and I certainly will always pick up their work.

This is the first book by Christina Lauren that I have read, I wanted to read a book by them for a very long time and I think I’m glad I waited for this one. I thought it was extremely enjoyable and a fun ride. I absolutely flew through it I read it into settings, which is really good for me lately. I loved that it wasn’t full of smut but had a few “romantic” scenes. It didn’t make me uncomfortable at all.
Olive was awesome!! She was such a relatable character, compared to her twin sister. Ethan was fun too, once we got to know what he was really all about. Their interactions both before and after everything that happened made me laugh out loud.
The whole books plot was uniquely funny! Christina Lauren will absolutely be an author I will want to read every book by. I was impressed at how they added in romance, but it wasn’t cheesey, it was relatable. I can’t wait to get my hands on more books by them.
