Another win for CLo!

The Unhoneymooners hit it out of the park! I LOVED this story. I was running around my house just giggling with glee at the ANGST and sexual tension.

The Unhoneymooners is pure Christina Lauren gold. I laughed, I was sad and then happy again...it was just great. A fun romp!

I love everything about this book from the cover right down the very last word.

So that was everything I needed! I usually have a hard time with hate to love romances, but CL hit the nail on the head with this one. There was angst, chemistry, misunderstandings, and laugh out loud moments. The only reason that this doesnt get a full five stars is about what happens in the third act. Olive forhives someone about something (no spoliers here, ladies and gents!) but I felt pretty uncomfortable by it. We need to belive women, and the lack of understanding and belief troubled me. I dont think I am as forgiving as Olive in this situation.

4.5 Stars! Full review to come!

CLo can do no wrong, but this was not my fave of theirs. Super witty & hilarious, really enjoyed this one but wish there'd been a little more romance/heat. Olive annoyed me slightly but she definitely grew on me. Overall, another hit from Christina Lauren!

I am a big fan of Christina Lauren. I loved Roomies and Love and Other Words SO MUCH. Those two books are always at the top of my list of books for people looking for sweet, well-written love stories. This book was enjoyable, but fell short of those books for me. I flew through this book in about a day, and I did find myself rooting for Olive and Ethan in the end, but didn't love the frenemies setup. There's a bit of a misunderstanding that is drawn out pretty far and falls a little flat once the source of their distaste is revealed. All of that said, I did find this book to be entertaining and enjoyed reading it.

Finished in a day because it’s so cute! There were parts where I was (awkwardly) laughing out loud... by myself 😬 Olive, the main character is super relatable, and will keep you on your toes. My only issue is with Ethan, towards the end when I actually said “what the hell is your problem?!” 😏 so if you’ve read it, message me! But overall, flew through it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ set your calendars for May 14 when it comes out! Perfect beach read 🌴

Olive and Ethan hate each other. Oliver's sister Ami and Ethan's brother Dane are getting married, which puts Olive and Ethan together often, solidifying their dislike of each other. Ami is a professional at getting free or discounted services, but when this results in everyone getting sick from the reception buffet, everyone except Olive and Ethan, Ami begs them to take the free honeymoon in her place. Ten days in a tropical, magnificent, Hawaiian getaway may be enough for Olive and Ethan to put aside their differences and perhaps learn a thing or two about the other.

The situations these two found themselves in were hilarious. I appreciated that the truce, and eventual attraction, was gradual, not Insta love. The misconceptions and misunderstandings were relatable, as were the family situations these two were ultimately forced into. Overall this was a great book. Fans of The Hating Game will like it. For long time Christina Lauren fans, it has the CLo magic touch that was found in Josh and Hazel. Immensely enjoyable read.

I have never read a Christina Lauren book before, and now I want to read all the Christina Lauren books!

The characters were so well developed, and I felt a connection to them and the storyline from the first chapter. I don't always love stories where characters begin by so strongly disliking each other, but I could feel that the dislike wasn't based on anything major, so I was willing to overlook it. As the story played out, I realized that this was much more a story about mistaken assumptions, which I am always a fan of.

Beyond the cute developing love story, I enjoyed the way the other characters were portrayed. Olive's big, super-close family was so fun to read about, and her relationship with her sister felt so realistic. While I wasn't sure if Ami's storyline was going to be distracting, it added a lot of depth to what otherwise could have been a basic, fluffy, enemies-to-lovers romance story.

There wasn't a section of the book that I wasn't drawn to, and as a result I flew through the story. I was all in from the very beginning and the ending didn't let me down one bit. This was a perfect light read with just the littlest bit of tension and drama. Overall, exactly what I was looking for and a totally enjoyable reading experience!

I loved The Unhoneymooners! It might actually be my favorite from Christina Lauren that I've read so far (I've read four of their books). The setting was incredible, the premise was so hilariously insane but still (mostly) realistic, and the relationships were great. On a semi-side note, I feel like Olive's cousins need their own book entirely. I want to see further into Diego's head. It was a very fun read that I couldn't put down and that actually made me laugh out loud on more than one occasion.

This is a great enemies to lovers story. I have always enjoyed Christina Lauren’s books but the last few seem so much better to me. The characters in this book seem relatable and I haven’t quite figured out why that is, but it is. There is some great humor in this story and several references to Harry Potter which just make it that much better! Do yourself a favor and read this! #TheUnhoneymooners #NetGalley

I'm a huge fan of Christina Lauren, and the Unhoneymooners definitely did not disappoint! These authors write the best enemies-to-lovers reads. I can always count on Christina Lauren for a contemporary romance that brings the heat but plenty of humor too. I highly recommend!

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my review.

It started out hilarious. This was such a refreshing read. Olive is down right adorable with all her quirks and intracasies. I was very disappointed in how Mr. Hamilton handled the lie. He could have at least gave her a chance. Olive's whole family was awesome too. I was crying laughing when they kept texting her while she was giving her speech. At first it took me a while to warm up to Ethan. I was in the same boat as Olive...if he doesn't like her then I don't like him. I mean who could not like Olive ya know. Once we got the full story of that miscommunication I was on board with their relationship. Ethan really is a good guy. Now Dane, ugh what does Ami see in him? Anyways that's not my problem. I can totally see why Olive doesn't like him. It's totally frustrating as well that no one believes her about Dane. Especially Ethan, I mean I know that is your brother but he has to know that Dane can be a douche that could do this stuff, especially to Ami. He's on the Dane train until the end of the tracks...Olives words, not mine but again hilarious. Oh and how Ami went about calling out Dane.EPIC!! It was such a great way of how everyone came together for Ethan and Olive at the end. I'm telling you everyone needs a family like this. It was such a great ending. Christina/Lauren are fast becoming a fave and automatic buy of mine.

Wow! What a great read, the only bad thing I can say is if you don’t plan in reading this in one sitting don’t pick it up yet!

This story gives you all the feels angst, humor and romance, all with a little swoon in the mix!
I loved olive and Ethan’s story. The story has such an easy flow it’s hard to put down. Watching Olives feelings evolve for Ethan , makes you root for her luck to change. Without any spoilers I highly recommend this book!

Thank you to Netgalley for providing an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I hated this book. There seems to be this nasty trend of "nasty women" running through New Adult romance at present and it's insulting. These books portray the female lead as an angry take-no-crap gal who treats her guy like crap, most likely because of her major trust issues, and his continual pursuit to break down the emotional wall she's built - he often being damaged and violent himself. If you think on it a bit, you can see how it's actually the traditional romance trope turned on its head: the strong woman with a dark past pursuing the brooding angry male with an even darker past.

This is not one of those books - in fact it attempts to break the stereotype by having other characters believe the female protagonist to be an angry woman, but she's only been shaped that way by the actions of others. And in breaking out of her "angry" persona, she ends up becoming snarky, pushy, and cocky (see epilogue). So, in essence, it falls victim to it's own best intentions... or maybe that wasn't what the writing duo was going for at all.

Regardless, the plot meanders, there isn't much conflict, it's elicited maybe one or two chuckles at best, and at the end I struggled to remember what I had read.

Girl meets boy and they have a misunderstanding over cheese curds. Girl and boy "hate" each other ever after. Girl and boy thrown together on a luxury vacation. Girl and boy fall in love (no steamy scenes - come on, really?) Girl and boy get into argument over someone else's concern. Boy performs embarrassing stunt (it's not really a stunt - it just involves a green tank top), Girl has change of heart. Epilogue to wrap up a story that doesn't need wrapping up.

Meh. Next.

I LOVED THIS BOOK and may have just found a new favorite author?? This book was such a GREAT book about how we get in our own heads and make up what we think is the truth without asking the other person exactly how they feel and that leads to all sorts of crazy, mischievous adventure...like going on someone else’s honeymoon. I LOVE this book!!!

The team of Christina Lauren really know how to do a fun, funny romance. Olive’s identical twin sister is getting married, and thus Olive has no choice but to see the groom’s brother, her nemesis, Evan. The first time they met, Evan food shamed her, and their relationship didn’t get better from there. Olive is not about to apologize for her curves. But when the entire wedding party gets ill from the seafood buffet except Olive and Evan, they agree to pretend to be the happily married couple and go on the honeymoon in Maui since the tickets are nonrefundable.

A series of coincidences that aren’t particularly believable but you go along with anyway forces Olive and Evan to act like giddy newlyweds. As they’re faking it, they learn things about each other and about Evan’s brother that, for a while at least, makes them see each other in a whole different way.

I haven’t enjoyed a romance this much in a long time. Thanks so much to NetGalley and Gallery Books for the opportunity to review this novel, which RELEASE MAY 14, 2019.

I laughed so hard at one part of The Unhoneymooners that I cried. Legit cried.

In addition to the enemies to lovers trope that Christina Lauren does so well, this book has major UST, a curvy heroine, grumpy hero, latinx family, and it is set in Maui. I know, almost too good to be true.

You'll love it too!

Books by Christina Lauren are usually automatic download for me. Seeing it available here at NetGalley was a gift!

Follows a popular trope of boy meets girl, offends girl, they hate each other until the don’t...The dialog is believable, often humorous, the love scenes are tantalizing, and the characters are absolutely likable that I cheered for from the start. And the resolution with the twin sister is every dream come true for anyone who has been in the same despicable straits. Brava!

Despite some typos that I am confident will be remedied by publication, it’s a fabulous read. In fact I stayed up till 6 am to finish it. Like all Christina Lauren books, the romance is delicious and I am walking around feeling dreamy, suffering a serious book hangover today. (BTW—not loving that cover. Totally off their brand and does not say romance at all to me. More satire genre.)

Thank you to Netgalley and Gallery books for my free digital copy in exchange for an honest review.

Christina Lauren is back again with another laugh out loud romantic comedy and I couldn’t wait any longer to devour it! One of my favorite tropes is enemies to lovers and this one includes a fake marriage as well. This sounded right up my alley. Unfortunately I found it forgettable. I forgot the names of the characters the next day (probably because there was purposeful name-swapping between the characters) and the story just wasn’t my favorite Christina Lauren. I didn’t feel invested in the characters and their lives. And while it wasn’t my favorite, I still laughed out loud at some of the jokes, really enjoyed the Minnesota references, and would recommend it to other Christina Lauren fans. I’m looking forward to whatever the duo writes next!

The magic is in the voice.

Olive and Ami are twins. Ami is the twin who gets all the luck (Olive’s bad luck stories are hilarious) , and is about to get married. Olive doesn’t really care for her soon-to-be bro-in-law Dane, but hey, he’s who Ami picked, and anyway, that lukewarm feeling is nothing to the black hole of hatred Olive feels for Dane’s handsome, successful elder brother Ethan.

It’s clear from the gitgo that Ami works hard to make her luck—she enters every sweepstakes and contest there is, and so she ends up with a fabulous wedding with a buffet dinner for the zillion guests and only pays a fraction for it.

Unfortunately the prize-winning bridesmaid gowns are a hideous green, which Ethan comments on when he and Olive are forced to meet . . . but that little problem gets shoved by the wayside when, in the middle of Olive’s maid of honor speech, the entire guest list, including bride and groom, get the volcanic two-step.

So who is going on the fabulous honeymoon trip that can’t be postponed or refunded? Ami begs Olive to go; Olive feels too guilty leaving her sister until she finds out that Ethan is going. Is she going to let that villain of doom have all the fun? Noooo!

And so the fun is on, made a whole lot more of a rollercoaster when bosses and exes turn up at the same hotel and the two have to cope, which has unexpected results for them both.

Olive’s family is wonderful. I really like the way the authors developed the brothers, one from a distance over time. Ethan’s errors are subtly indicated in a way I totally bought (without making it an issue, the authors make it clear he’s a bit on the OCD spectrum), and the evolution of the relationship was deftly, humorously, and yet insightfully done.

Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes, but it’s not bulletproof. Some readers love the bicker-then-hate-sex trajectory, which is not my cup of tea. I like what the authors do here, which is so much harder to write, the steps the two take to reach a truce, then understanding, with attraction coming right along. Done with the champagne-sparkling humor and flair their fans, including myself, love so much.
