Well this book officially did it. I finally accepted the fate of a DNF list. I get that this book has an audience and it’s clear the targeted demographic can find enjoyment out of these books because they are popular enough from conversations that I have with other readers. For me, it was truly something I could not enjoy and couldn’t even find something to appreciate- and I say this as a mom who is definitely
engrained in the community and social dynamics this book portrays but it just felt so contrived and silly.

In You've Been Volunteered, the reader gets an up close look at the school. And the PTO. A funny and realistic look at the drama and scandal that can come when adults interfere with kiddos.

I love this series! I do have to tell you, though, I'm not reading it in order. I started with the third book. Jen Dixon rules the world or at least the school and they way she words an email, she is my heroine! With two older daughter who she is trying to get to talk to her, she still manages to wrangle the troops together for all the necessary aspects of her son's third grade class since she is once again class mom and now she also has to organize the crossing guards for the student after school pick up lanes. Oh joy! All this with her son having a melt down every time she turns around. Pre-teen boy angst. I really need to go back and grab that first book now to see where it all started.

Tongue in cheek about PTO life and mom guilt in todays world. Painfully relatable and a fun read. We are all hot mess moms - some of us hide it better than others.

I finally read this book recently and I’m sad I waited so long! Jen Dixon is just absolutely hilarious and I loved her antics as Room Mom again. Really looking forward to book 3 in this series.

This is a very funny lighthearted read (well at least it is to us Moms that don’t have perfect lives and kids). I laughed so hard and kept calling my sister to read some of the emails to her. She finally told me to just buy her the book so she could read it herself. Really funny ,quick, lighthearted read. Thank you NetGalley

I did not read the prequel, Class Mom. I was a little nervous that I wouldn't understand some references but there wasn't anything that seemed to go over my head. This is a wonderful women's fiction read. It is hilarious, light hearted and very relatable. School politcs are a real thing and it is funnier to read about them than deal with them in a real life.

Jen Dixon is back in this laugh-out-loud-funny sequel to Class Mom. I love Jen’s snarky execution of her duties as a third-grade class mom. Even more, I loved Jen’s interactions with her son, husband, two grown-up daughters and saintly cancer survivor mom. As a spin addict myself, I both related to and laughed along with her fangirl worship for her spin instructor. You've Been Volunteered is a fun, hilarious, escapist read!!

I'm definitely late to the party reviewing this ARC, but I finally got a chance to read Class Mom before I started on the second book, You've Been Volunteered. I loved the second book just as much as the first one! I don't have kids, so I have zero relatable experiences but I loved the story and the writing style so much! I could definitely read another Class Mom style book from Laurie Gelman!

Such a fun book for those looking for their next laugh out loud read! As a follow up to the previous book, Class Mom, You’ve Been Volunteered brings the humor and antics!

Protagonist, Jen, has found herself being roped into volunteering as Class Mom this year, with safety patrol. What seems like an innocent job turns out to be more than she bargained for.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Henry Holt for the free copy for review. All opinions are my own

Love, love, love Laurie Gelman and the wicked sense of humor she gives her main character, Jen Dixon! If you've ever volunteered as your kids school, you will love Jen too, as she says all the things we wish we would have. Life as a mom of two older daughters and a son in third grade, plus a husband and parents, keeps Jen extremely busy and her sarcastic wit and heart of gold keep her going. While managing her life, Jen is also learning lessons about herself and what's important and how to prioritize. This book has heart and the characters are relatable, real and lovable. I wish I had Jen's courage and gumption to stand up for herself in all situations, even if it takes her a while to get there.

As a mom in the suburbs where this book is set, I find probably more humor and connection than I would than with another book in a similar setting. She missed a couple of points, but since she asked for no fan mail. I guess I will let it go.

It was nice to have back Jen and her cast of characters back. It follows up nicely to the first book in the series and leaves you eager for third.

I was that I was in a class with her, but since I’m usually eager to be a class mom they would make sure that I’m not usually with her. Elementary staff no how to place students to spread their volunteers around.

If you need a light, easy read that will prepare you for
Back to school (hey, we can hope. Right?) then read this today.

I loved this book. It is a sequel to Class Mom. Anyone who has ever had children and been a volunteer at their school can relate to this book. It is hysterical and I highly recommend it!!

You’ve Been Volunteered is the second book I’ve read by Laurie Gelman. I didn’t enjoy it quite as much as Class Mom, nor did it make me laugh as much as the original, but it was still an enjoyable read. Jen’s snarkiness and wit will be appreciated by any mom who has had to deal with their child’s PTA.

When I found out there was going to be a sequel to Class Mom, I just knew that I had to get my hands on it! This book is just as funny as the first! I would highly recommend it if you're in the need of some good, light hearted humor. I loved all the American Ninja Warrior and Drew Drechsel references as well! :) <3

Not for me, unfortunately, I knew this was part of a series, but it seems a lot more serialized than I anticipated, and, while I'm sure they ring true to life for those in that life, since I'm not a mother a lot of the intrigue and relatability wooshed past me.

A great follow-up to the first! I really enjoyed it. Funny characters, good strong storyline. Add in a couple of surprises and it made for a fun read.

Such a great book, it was light and fun. I love the tone and voice that Laurie Gelman uses. Totally relatable. Though I'm glad it's a satire and our school isn't just like this. Better than the first!

This was such a fun read. Jen Dixon seems like such a likeable character, and I can see this as relatable for any mom. And the book reminds you of kindness and being content, which is wonderful.

Thanks to Henry Holt and Co and #netgalley for the advanced copy.
