I read Class Mom a few months ago and I knew I needed to read the follow up. This book did not disappoint. This was funny and down to earth. It was such a treat.

I will feature this book in the Summer Reading Guide next month.

I'm of fan of this series for fun, light reading. Recommended for parents whose children's school years continue to delight and devastate them in unpredictable waves.

Loved it! If you enjoyed Class Mom, you’ll really like You’ve Been Volunteered. Jen is back with more shenanigans. The kids are older and the parents are just as funny. A great book for anyone who’s had had to endure the zaniness of parent relationships.

Read this book. No really. Stop everything, pick up this book and settle in for laughter and a great story. I loved Class Mom and while You've Been Volunteered didn't have the same type of story as Class Mom, it had all of the same characteristics. I love the snark, the crazy escapades and all of the characters.

I love these characters so much. In Class Mom we met Jen Dixon and she is back with her sarcastic witty humor in this book! You really need to read that book before you read this one since it follows the characters two years later.

I laughed out loud and as a Mom could relate to Jen’s experiences. This book delves into real life of a Mom trying to be her best for her family and she tries to have a sense of humor along the way. These two books are worth a read and they would be perfect for a beach read during the summertime because they are feel good books!

4 laugh out loud, wipe the tears, don’t wet your pants stars to You’ve Been Volunteered!⁣

I enjoyed Laurie Gelmans first book, Class Mom. I am happy to report that there is no sophomore slump in book two! In fact, I think the author has found her stride and I enjoyed book two even more!⁣

In this installment, Jen Dixon is back as class mom for her sons 3rd grade class. In addition to her role, Jen has been tasked as the head of the safety patrol volunteers. Shenanigans ensue and her class emails are back in action.⁣

I LOVE the snark and witty writing that Laurie Gelman nails in these books. Because I was already invested in the characters I quite enjoyed reading the update on their lives. I highly recommend reading Class Mom before this. While it could work as a stand alone, I think the first book leads into You’ve Been Volunteered quite nicely. Look for this book in July, it will be a wonderful addition to your summer reading lists! Thank you @henryholtbooks for this advance reader in exchange for my honest review.

Everything I loved about Class Mom is here in the "sequel" - whipsmart dialogue, hilarious situations, and crazy characters. Gelman has clearly been in the PTA because she nails these women perfectly!

This book was so fun! I’ve read Class Mom from this author and really enjoyed it. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this was just as good as that one. I enjoyed the story and the characters were very well written.

Loved this one! It continues the story of the Class Mom and does not disappoint! I couldn’t put it down and was cracking up at the emails and dialogue in the book. Gelman’s follow up to Class Mom hit it out of the park!

Funny, fast paced novel. Even better than the first Class Mom book. A hilarious look inside Jen Dixion’s life as a fifty something wife, mother, and of course class mom. While Jen navigates the ups and downs of her life and tries to keep her family on track you will tear up and laugh out loud minutes later. Excellent uplifting book, not to be missed.

You’ve been volunteered is the latest novel by Laurie Gelman and the sequel to Class Mom. I really liked Class Mom and I absolutely loved the latest installment. Main character, Jen Dixon is witty, sarcastic and absolutely hysterical. Her views on life and motherhood are authentic and raw. She’s the best friend that I wish I had. You will laugh throughout the story, while she navigates life as a 3rd grade class mom, mom to 3, wife and caregiver. She even teaches a lesson or two during this engaging and captivating story. 5 stars.

Thanks to Netgalley and Henry Holt and Co for this digital ARC in exchange for an honest review. I was a huge fan of Class Mom and was excited to see the continued saga.

In the sequel to Class Mom, Jen Dixon is yet again roped into being class mom for her son Max’s 3rd grade class. New and old characters are back with Jen snarky as ever! Her emails continue to say exactly what many parents think in her non filtered emails.

Unlike the first novel Jen is wrapped up more in her family life - husband Ron wanting to expand to more franchises with Ron clipping coupons and cutting costs, becoming friends with Rolly & Janine in hopes they’ll invest in Ron’s expansion, desiring to become more of her 20 somethings daughters’ lives while getting a shock when she does.

I did enjoy the novel, but I always have a hard time enjoying sequels. It did keep me engaged, but I found myself cringing more than laughing on this second time around.

As with her first book, Class Mom, Laurie Gelman did not disappoint with her follow up book You’ve Been Volunteered! These books are filled with such humor and reality! I laughed out loud during both but this follow up really was full of humor, sarcasm, reality of life with children and jobs and school, etc. The main character Jen says things most mins would love to say but would never have the guts to! If you can’t handle sarcasm and humor this book is truly not for you because it is filled with it!

The author of Class Mom strikes again in You've Been Volunteered!

After an unceremonious firing and a year off, Jen Dixon is once again a Class Mom - this time for Third Grade! And, there's a new twist this year; Jen is in charge of the Safety Patrol, a mandatory activity for fifth graders and their parents.

Balancing school volunteer activities, while keeping tabs on her aging parents, worrying about expanding their business, trying to maintain a relationship with her older daughters and caring for her husband and son, makes for a whirlwind school year. Courting potential new business investors, including a fun couple who may, or may not, want to swing adds a whole new dimension.

I absolutely loved this book, and would highly recommend it to everyone.

In the interest of full disclosure, I received a free digital copy of this title to review from Net Galley.

Ahhhh I effing LOVE Jen Dixon! Just like the first book, I was laughing out loud OFTEN (and in public)! I really enjoyed the combination of kid drama and adult drama. I didn't really care for the daughters in this book to be honest, their stories seemed a little annoying but it was fine. I loved Jen and her friendships/toils with the other moms and her new friends. My feelings for Ron were definitely on par with Jen's, sometimes I thought he was amazing and then I was like WTF ARE YOU DOING? Ahhhh. Anywho, I really enjoyed this book and I and crossing my fingers and toes for another Class Mom novel because they're so damn fun to read!

I had LITERALLY just finished Class Mom days earlier when I saw the sequel on Net Galley. I loved Class Mom, but I don't always love sequels- it can be difficult to live up to an original. This book, fortunately, did just that, and in my humble opinion, was ACTUALLY funnier than the original. I love Jen Dixon. I just GET her, and feel as though she is my spirit animal. I had moments of truly laughing out loud, which is rare for me. The books are so well written, and almost conversational. I adore the writing. I have my fingers crossed that this won't be the last time we hear the voice of such a fabulous character!!

I absolutely adored Laurie Gelman's first book, Class Moms and I 'm over the moon to be reviewing the sequel to this hilarious book. This second book is even funnier than the first one and I enjoyed it even more than Class Moms.

This sequel is a continuation of Jen's story but it's new, fresh, and different, and that's what makes it so good. We know to expect tons of laughs and hilarity, but Jen continues to grow and evolve in this story as much as the first. Jen has plenty of entertaining situations with school, but this book also focuses on another major element of her world: Jen's family members. I enjoyed getting to know them through Jen's eyes.

It's challenging to write a sequel, but Laurie Gelman knocks this one out of the park and I loved it. What I wanted from this book is to feel the way that Class Moms made me feel, and I definitely got it. The good news is that you don't have to read the first book to dive into this one. It's laugh-out-loud funny as a standalone.

When I heard that there was a second book by Laurie Gelman I knew I had to read it! I loved Class Mom but I really loved You’ve Been Volunteered. Jen Dixon is back and this year her son is in third grade. This year it seems even more challenging for Jen, from helping her older daughters, her husband’s constant working, her parents, and being roped into volunteering even more at school, Jen tries to keep everything under control and the outcome is hilarious.

Make sure to pick this one up this summer, and if you haven’t read Class Mom go grab that one as well. There is something for everyone in Gelman’s books.
