I loved Class Mom and was excited to see that there is a sequel. I love how relatable the main character is and her sense of humor. Read this book in one day. Definitely would recommend to all my mom friends out there with kids in school because I think they will get a kick out of it as well.

Guess who’s back? Back again…. Tell a friend….. I was thrilled to see a sequel to Laurie Gelmen’s “Class Mom.” It’s impossible to get enough of her snarky humor and clever take on the school politicking and expectations of the responsibility that parents and class moms have to take on. This book is so relatable for a mom! I loved the reference to the Signupgenius and her use of snarky emails to the class even assigning a co-mom “Mandy Idon’tgiveacrap.” And of course the return of Jen’s family and Ron’s Gym and Tan. This is a MUST READ for any mom with school-age kids.

Loved this book! Class Mom was one of my favorite books I read last year so I was thrilled to see there was a sequel! Just like Class Mom, this kept me laughing out loud the entire time. You’ve Been Volunteered was just as cute and funny as the first. A great sequel and I hoped there’s a third!

I received a complimentary e-book copy of this book from Henry Holt and Co. through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you to Laurie Gelman, Henry Holt and Co., and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.

This book TOTALLY cracked me up and was JUST what I needed!! It was just as funny as the first book so I was so happy to read this great second book in the series.

I really hope that the author continues this series as it touches my funny bone being a Room Parent like Jen. But, I never sent emails like hers, but wish that I did.

Definite recommend, but read the FIRST book in the series before reading this one!!

This was a fun book! I actually liked it more than I liked Class Mom. Gelman is really funny and Jen, her narrator, is very relatable. This is exactly what it appears to be- a light, funny read that will keep you engaged and smiling.

Laurie Gelman is funny and I don't mean "mommy blogger funny", I mean honestly audibly laugh-out-loud funny. While it is an easy and fun read, that doesn't mean that its fluff. It truly hits on what it means to be a mom with kids of any ages, little or grown, in 2019. While this book references her first book, Class Mom, you don't need to read them in order (I didn't), it stands on its own as well. However now that I have experienced the life and times of the main character, Jen Dixon, I will definitely check out Class Mom.

This was a warm, lighthearted read that is relatable and, at times, laugh-out-loud funny. Jen Dixon's signature snark that we have missed is back! I found this story arc a bit flatter than Class Mom.... there wasn't one true driving force for the plot, but many small stories occurring simultaneously in Jen's life. It is real, relatable, but occasionally predictable. I enjoyed this very much.

Laugh out loud funny!

I loved Class Mom and was beyond excited when I learned there would be a second book in the series. You've Been Volunteered didn't disappoint! It was just (or maybe even more) hysterical than the first book. Well written and witty I couldn't put the book down. I am just hoping there will be more books featuring the antics of Jen Dixon in the future! After all, it isn't everyday you feel like a character could be your BFF!

Funny! This book was hilarious. I enjoyed every page. It was a quick read, but had good character development and storeyline. I vote for a sequel to this sequel.

Jen is back!! Not only is she class mom again, but had taken on a new job as safety patrol coordinator. I really enjoyed this sequel, more than the first book. It was really funny and a very quick read.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC.

This book was just as witty and humorous as Class Mom. The story of Jen Dixon continues in this quick read that takes your right back into Jen's life. If you enjoyed the author's first book with these characters then this next book is just for you. Easy, quick read that any PTO/PTA mom can relate too.

Another comic novel from the viewpoint of Jen Dixon, a class mom who has been down this road before and is done with the nonsense this thankless job often entails. This fast and funny read brought me back to my kids' elementary school years (during which I assiduously avoided being a class mom!). Four stars for this one, for the laughs and the funny takes on school/parenting politics. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this enjoyable ARC.

I loved the first book, Class Mom, and was excited to hear there was a sequel. This was a fun, fast read and totally enjoyable. I love her sarcasm!! I would highly recommend this!!!

She’s back! Jen Dixon has once again resumed her class mom duties, and I am here for it! Personally, my kids have not yet joined the ranks of where I will have to deal with the PTA and class moms, so I enjoyed reading her first novel, Class Moms.

This time around, Max is now in third grade, and Jen had taken a break from her Class Mom duties. She is summoned back from the new PTA president as well as running the safety patrol. The remaining drama this time is much closer to home than the drama from the first book, with her husband trying to expand his business, and her daughters causing trouble.

I highly recommend for anyone who was a fan of Class Mom (this one is just as great, if not better!) and for anyone who loves “mommy lit” – it is a great read! My only wish is that the series continues until Max graduates! Is there such a thing as a high school class mom??

Everyone ranted and raved about Class Mom, I will admit I enjoyed the snark but overall the book was just okay. This follow up, again, doesn’t really live up to the hype. The story is slow to move, there’s some build up to the activities of the daughter or what’s going to happen with the store but then it’s just over. The build up was much to do about nothing. The book seemed to rush to the ending - like Oh, I’ve got whatever page count I needed so let me wrap it up.
I would imagine this was a set up for book three to answer the questions left hanging.
The pace was easy. The writing flowed, making it an easy beach read. I’m sure the masses will enjoy it.

I was given an advanced reader copy of the new Class Mom book, You've Been Volunteered. I loved Class Mom and so I was delighted to get this arc.

I can say that I absolutely loved this book! It delivered just like the previous one. I was laughing so hard at parts that I couldn't see because I was crying! This books is a must read!

My favorite part is, of course, Jen Dixon. She says what I wish I could say. She is my new spirit animal.

I was pretty excited to have Jen Dixon back in my life! “You’ve Been Volunteered” is a sequel to Laurie Gelman’s first book, Class Mom. These books are enjoyable and light and if you’ve ever been a school parent volunteer, or a student receiving services of a school parent volunteer, then you can relate to the book.
Jen Dixon is always struggling with something…an over committed schedule, aging parents, hormonal young adult daughters, a work-focused husband, and a young son at home…her life is not the life of leisure she may have planned, but it is full, and we get to go along with this character on her journey. I personally can relate to Jen Dixon because I am living parallel lives with her, or maybe it’s because I know so many women just like her, maybe because I want to be just like her when I grow up!
You’ve Been Volunteered is a great follow-up to Class Mom. Jen is witty, honest, tired, and you will giggle throughout this novel. If you’re considering being a PTO volunteer, you may or may not want to check out this book. But it may also be a cautionary tale! LOL
