So many people raves about Gelmans prequel to this book, I felt like I had to read this to see what I was missing out on?! Potentially German isn’t the “author for me” as I have a very hard time getting into her books. I have loved books in this genre in the past, but have trouble relating to any of her characters or writing style.

You've been Volunteered did not disappoint. Jen Dixon is back as class mom for her now 3rd grade kid. And not only is she class mom, she's also taking over the safety patrol supervising. Which means hilarity will ensue again. The same snarky comments you loved in her class mom emails are back! This book is just as laugh out loud funny as the first book including new troubles being the mom to her older children.

I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.
I loved that this was like having a girls' night with a fellow Mom friend and gossiping about all the ridiculous highs and lows of motherhood. I found the main character's attempts at humor tiresome at times, but overall it was an amusing read.

This fun sequel to Class Mom will keep you amused when you need a light read and a look at other people’s dysfunctional PTA moments.

Laurie Gelman does not disappoint with her follow up to Class Mom with this gem, YOU'VE BEEN VOLUNTEERED. As a mom and room mom myself, I laughed throughout this entire book and it was such a feel-good read.
The storyline was hysterical, emotional, heartfelt and really covers a realistic look at many moms lives!
Grab this book, sit down and read it all the way through. It gave me a spring in my step and put me in such a great mood. This was such a nice change of pace from all the psychological thrillers that have been flooding the market! It's a quick, fun, light read and I highly recommend this book to anyone (not just moms!) I am keeping my fingers crossed that there is another book from Laurie Gelman in the works- she quickly has become one of my favorite authors! Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and author for an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Looking for a fun, hilarious read? Then look no further! I laughed out loud, I almost cried, and I thoroughly enjoyed a second visit to world of Jen Dixon. The snarky e-mails are back in You’ve Been Volunteered as Jen returns to the position of class mom. Laurie Gelman’s book was a nice escape, but I did not find it quite as enjoyable as her first book, Class Mom. Some of the plot twists were a bit predictable and everything was tied up a bit too neatly and conveniently at the end for my taste. However, those are minor issues at best and this book is a delightful pick-me-up or beach read. I definitely recommend this book if you need a good laugh!

Gelman is a fun fabulous funny writer who my only regret is she does not have more work published! I really hope this series continues, the characters are relatable and feel like old friends.

How do I even begin this review?! This book was SO good. I read Laurie Gelman’s first book, Class Mom, in only a few days and I LOVED it. I loved it so much that when I received an advanced copy of this new book I didn’t want to start reading it because I didn’t want it to be over!
Any worry that her new book, You’ve Been Volunteered, would not live up to the standards of her first book was gone within the first few pages of reading it. I literally could not put this book down. The story line was great. It was funny, it was emotional, it dealt with real life issues. You don’t have to have kids in school or be a mom to enjoy this book.
Read this and her first book whole you’re at it, you will NOT be disappointed. I’d give the book 10 stars if I could!!!!
Thank you #macmillin and #netgalley for an advanced copy of this book.

I liked this sequel even more than I liked the first! Super fun light read and very entertaining! If you are looking for quick paced and light reading, this is the book for you!

I loved Gelman's first novel, Class Mom, and was super excited to see this one pop up on NetGalley. It reads with such ease and has so many laugh out loud moments that, as a teacher, I really appreciate.

Once I started reading I was unable to put this book down, much like Laurie Gelmans first novel Class Mom. I feel like Jen could truly be a best friend and would be awesome to hangout with, her snark is amazing. The characters she created in her novels feel like friends now and I can’t wait to see if there is more to come.
I received an advanced copy of this book via NetGalley in return for an honest review. #YouveBeenVoulenteered #NetGalley

I was so happy to read another book by this author. You've Been Volunteered was another delightful read with Jen Dixon as class mom. Between her hilarious class emails and her devotion to keeping things real, this novel is hard to put down. I highly recommend this book!

LOVE this book! I adored "Class Mom" and was so excited when I was approved to read this by netgalley. I read it in 2 nights and wish I could read another one- please say there will be a 3rd. :) I feel like I could be best friends with Jen, she is so funny yet has such a big heart in everything she does. This book doesn't paint the perfect family picture and I think that is one of the reasons I love it so much. I highly recommend for anyone to read this- even if you aren't a mom, you will enjoy this book.

I am not sure who I want to be friends with more - Jen Dixon or the person who created her - Laurie Gelman ! The writing is so engaging - the characters so lovable and easy to relate to - that it is hard not to laugh out loud while whipping through this story. I could see a piece of every type of mom I dealt with in grade school in the characters - and the feeling of dread a mom gets when she gets the "you have been volunteered" email. It was thoroughly enjoyable to follow Jen's 2nd attempt at class mom while dealing with a host of other heartfelt issues.

Any parent of an preschool/elementary school-age child will appreciate this one! A quick, fun read and satisfying follow-up to CLASS MOM - I look forward to another sequel, which I expect would address some of the bigger family events that come up in this book.

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read You’ve Been Volunteered, by Laurie German, in exchange for my honest review.
You’ve Been Volunteered is the second book in this series. The first book Class Mom is the funniest book that I’ve read. I was excited and equally nervous to read this book. Why? There’s a lot of expectations for this second book, when the first book, Class Mom was so awesome. Laurie Gelman didn’t disappoint with You’ve Been Volunteered., it too is great!
Main character Jen Dixon is a snarky Class Mom who says what the rest of us thinks. She’s a hoot!
I will admit I wanted more. Not that the book fell short, I just want book number three in many hands now.
Please go get this book. It won’t disappoint.

You’ve been volunteered
I was so fortunate to be able to read this book thanks to NetGalley, Laurie German, and Henry Holt and Company
This book is the amazing sequel to “Class Mom” and it opens a few years later Jen has to be one of my favorite characters of all time and she is once again set to be class mom for her son’s class. But this time she also gets chosen to run the crossing guard program. All while dealing with family dynamic changes. Let the craziness and good times roll.
This sequel does NOT disappoint. It’s hilarious, real, and highly entertaining. Moms and non-moms will all enjoy the ride with Jen.
Now all I have to say is:
When is the next one coming out?!? Please!

I needed something light and funny after a couple of more serious reads. You’ve Been Volunteered did not disappoint. I laughed out loud several times. While some scenarios in the story were a littl over the top and far fetched, it didn’t take away from the overall story and feel of the book. Big thumbs up from me!
Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for a copy in exchange for my honest review.

I absolutely loved this book! I laughed out loud many times while reading. I haven’t read Class Mom yet, but now I’m definitely going back to read that one too.

I absolutely LOVED this book! This was so funny and Laurie Gelman has such a great writing voice. I have recommended this one and Class Mom as I think they are both super great books!
