A friend recommended this author and when I read the blurb for this book, I knew it was something I wanted to read. The concept is complex and real. The author has given us a glimpse into a woman’s life when she’s experienced the greatest betrayal.

Overall, I enjoyed the story. The authors writing is clean and the whole time I was reading MINE I got the feeling the author had experienced some of these feelings firsthand. However, this book left me with more questions than answers. But maybe that was just me.

This book was fascinating! It had just the right amount of creepiness that I couldn’t stop reading! I will definitely be reading more of this authors work!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

Oh man I hate giving bad reviews. I know writers work long hours to put together these labors of love and I often feel unworthy to critique those works. That being said, this book is really unbearably bad.

This book reads more like a scorned woman's revenge fantasy that is meant to remain a fantasy because it's too outlandish to bring to fruition. This story is absurd and unbelievable and so ungrounded in real life that it's cringe worthy.

This book was pretty enjoyable to read. I really liked that at the end the author was honest abt the fact that something similar had happened in her actual marriage and what she gained from it—what they both gained from it. Sure, you should be mad at the person who broke the vow, but it’s so much easier to hate someone you’ve not loved and raised babies with and been best friends with for 20 years. The human conditioning is a strange and messed up thing, being able to surpass those reptilian brain impulses and societal pressures and decide what is right for YOU and your relationship and family is a very personal exploration and decision. This book exposes and explores the real shades of grey that exist in relationships sometimes.

Wow! What a gripping read! One that makes you gasp out loud and cheer for someone who has obviously lost their mind, and needs to quit, but you are hoping that she don’t! It’s vicious roller coaster ride, which makes you gasp a bit and flip pages like a mad woman! I also thought it had some important lessons, instead of being just disturbing thrills, but hit real in someone enduring an affair!
Will highly recommend in Chapter Chatter Pub and use in a challenge!

Well, this one kept me up way too late! Though I genuinely disliked all of the characters and was horrified by their behavior, I was really invested in what was going to happen to them. I really enjoyed the surprise ending!

When Tessa Taylor unlocked her husband Ethan’s iPad to discover nude photos from a twenty-six-year-old bombshell named Lindsey, her seemingly perfect life came to a screeching halt.

Mine by Courtney Cole plot line revolves around infidelity, and for some that is difficult to read about. However, Cole gives this particular story line a lot of oomph when the betrayed wife decides to exact revenge on her husband's mistress. While this is all fine and dandy, and really who could blame Tessa, the premise itself was a little surreal. First off Tessa is riding out a Cat 4 hurricane in her beautiful home on the water in Florida. That required a certain fantastical mindset, as you would have to be a little crazy to do that. Then Tessa lures her husband's mistress to the house during the storm, and begins to torment, demean and destroy. Fair enough, but again not entirely believable or realistic. In fact the mistress would have every right to press charges against Tessa. I understand the premise and motivation behind the book, but found the execution wanting. That Tessa did not really have a major confrontation with her husband, who indeed is at fault for the whole mess was overwhelmingly implausible. Not realistic at all. Real life is never that neat and tidy. Overall not bad, maybe a fun fantasy for wronged wives, but not the best representation of infidelity and its aftermath. Not a thriller either in the truest sense, both main characters came off as unhinged and crazy, and all of it over a man.

Wow what a duo of crazy ladies. The resolution was a bit Pollyanna and this was more of a Lifetime movie melodrama than anything close to a thriller, but you will enjoy the ride with these two, that’s for sure.

Mine by Courtney Cole is a stunning, seat of your pants type of thriller. Tessa and Ethan have been together for over 20 years. They love each other, they have three children, a successful marriage, successful businesses, they are best friends - they have a life together. All of that is ruined the day Tessa finds nude photos of another woman on Ethan's iPad.

Tessa is more than devastated, she's enraged, furious, a little insane. It sure looks like Ethan is having an affair, is he? Tessa goes a bit off the rails and decides to lure the mistress, Lindsay, to her home during a hurricane. What happens when both wife and mistress are trapped together, literally and figuratively, by circumstances of their own making?

This one kept me guessing, and it made me ill to read about Ethan's unfaithfulness. The opening chapters were heart wrenching. I think this book will have women questioning what they would do if their previously loving husband had an affair. How would you react?

Highly recommended, you won't want to stop reading this book. You will have to know who will win the clash between wife and mistress. Very good.

I remember when Courtney first talked to me about this book and the circumstances that came along with it. I was so excited because I knew she was THE writer for this type of book. Then I remember her saying that it was picked up by a publisher and being so proud of her. That never changed. Courtney Cole is an excellent story teller no matter what she is writing. There is not a thing that she is afraid to tell us and for that I am always grateful. Mine was no exception.

But…after reading the final version of Mine, I was left unsatisfied. I read through a couple reviews and saw where a lot of people really enjoyed how the ending was wrapped up but I can’t help thinking that I wanted more from it. The ending was just rushed. I felt like us, as readers deserved the confrontation between Tessa and Ethan that needed to happen. We never got it. After all that we went through with Tessa and Lindsey, I felt like Ethan was a huge driving force of these catastrophes and him being involved and confronted was an absolute must.

This is the book we, as spouses, are all afraid of. Courtney Cole does an incredible job at making both Tessa and Lindsey emotionally driven characters. But I think seeing their characters grow and develop was my favorite part of it all. She could have chose a hundred different directions for these two women to go but ultimately I was happy with the direction she went with for both of the female characters.

The plot of the book wasn’t near as strong as it potentially could have been. At times I found myself wondering what was even the point of what was actually happening. When it was all said and done, I read Mine in about a day which is always a good sign. It’s a fun read that doesn’t require much from you to keep track of characters or plot-line. If I am ever going to read a book that involves cheating of any type, it will always be from Courtney Cole and her amazing gift of great story telling.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and enjoy yet another Courtney Cole novel!

What would you do if you were facing the ultimate betrayal? What would you do if you had the means and the power to right a wrong (done to you) with impunity? Would you cross a line, or perhaps take things a little too far? Because that's exactly what happened...When Tessa Taylor innocently opens her husband's Ipad (when she couldn't find her own), to her complete shock and mortification, there is an explicit text and not only that, a nude picture of a young blonde woman. Baffled by what's she discovered and coincidentally alone in her large Florida home in the wake of a Category 4 hurricane, Tessa decides she needs some company to ride out the storm. Little does Lindsey know when she gets that fateful text who's on the other side...

Brilliant psychological thriller and revenge plot. Highly recommended!

This book was absolutely heartbreaking. It makes you face the fact that life is never as it seems. It shows obsession, devastation, & love. It shows how lies can totally ruin someone. I loved it!

I remember when Courtney first talked about this book. Then I remember it being picked up by a publisher and having to wait a little longer for it to be released. I was incredibly happy for her but yet disappointed that we'd have to wait. Well it was definitely worth the wait. Once I started I could not stop. This is one of those situations that you had to know what was going to happen next. There were so many moments that had me trying to figure out whose side I wanted to take, both women were betrayed yet it was a struggle for me. Now there was a situation with a spider that had me like I would come up off the bed hell fire a raining! The only thing that could have been better is the ending. I wanted to see what decision Tessa made in the end about Ethan. In all this was a great read. Mine is a true testament of what you would do, who you could become when faced with betrayal. Trying to protect the life you built with someone you love.
