Tessa thought her and her husband were about to embark on a much needed little getaway, but then her husband calls last minute to change their plans, just as a hurricane is hitting outdoors. With the storm brewing, their children already away for the weekend, she begins to poke around the house a bit and runs across her husbands iPad, and a little secret he has been keeping from her. One that she never saw coming, one that leaves her reeling and wanting a little revenge, and a whole lot of answers! Her husband has a mistress and she is about to put a plan in motion that could change everything...

With a storm raging outside, these two women are thrust together to weather an deeply emotional storm of sorts indoors, and things quickly get out of control!

Mine is a dramatic little page-turner that is riddled with unexpected twists and turns that will leave your head spinning. The moment I cracked the cover on this one I felt an addiction settle over me, one that lead me on a little late night reading marathon. I was so engrossed with the words on the pages that I momentarily forgot about the world around me, and wound up devouring it in one sitting!! This one will push your personal boundaries, make you question everything you read, and have you teetering on the edge of your seat the whole way through! If you like domestic suspense novels then this one will be right up your alley, it's perfectly crafted words will unravel your emotions, steal the breath from your lungs, and leave you saying WOW!! Highly recommend!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from NetGalley, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.

This was a super fast read and it was definitely hard to put down. I was very caught up in the story and what went down between Linsey and Ethan, and Tessa finding out about it. It also really made me think and question how I would react in this situation. Let me say, I sincerely hope I wouldn’t put up with any of the crap these women did. A lot of things kind of had me like “SERIOUSLY?! WHY ARE YOU DEALING WITH THIS TOOL?”

I do, however, feel that it did feel a little “lifetime movie” like. There was something lacking for me overall. Some of the scenes between Tessa and Lindsey just felt silly at times. I don’t know how to explain it, but I found my self rolling my eyes several times at their interactions.

I also wish that that there had been chapters for Ethan. I feel like a lot was missing due to that, and I really wanted a showdown at the end between just him and Tessa. The ending was open ended and I would have just like to have seen in wrapped up.

Overall, I enjoyed this one, and would recommend it!

WOW, just WOW! What a page turner!! The different perspectives of the characters really made me think. I wanted to hate Lindsey and even Tessa for a while, but in the end I couldn't. It's amazing when powerful women really wield their power!

One of the most enticing elements of this book is the Author's review on Goodreads. She very directly lets her audience, followers and pretty much the world know that this book has a closer to home inspiration. Her own life. If the synopsis didn't convince you that it was a must read, well that review of hers should do the trick. And after completing the story, I am dying to know how much of this story is fiction and how much is based on real life. Because let me tell you, it was a pretty wild ride.

Cole provides the readers with alternating chapters of the wife (Tessa) and the mistress (Lindsey). This really is a satisfying view and approach, you dive right into the meat while slowly getting the back story. This worked out well for the novel. Next thing I loved was the setting, it really took the book to the next level. You have two women weathering out a major hurricane which brings forth its own challenges outside of this twisted triangle.

Aside from the settings and POV, the characters were reasonable, scandalous and at times temporarily insane. Tessa is the housewife who never saw this coming. One day she was getting ready for a weekend away with the "greatest" man. And the next minute, she is Jack Nicholson in The Shining type crazy. She is literally the epitome of Oxygen's Snapped. And it is actually pretty great. Lindsey on the other hand is everything you would expect for a young mistress: dumb, gullible, a damaged girl grown into an insecure woman. One woman is fire and the other is ice. But when meeting head on, the reaction is explosive.

Overall, I went into this book looking for a twisted little thrill. And I was quite pleased with the result. I love picking up a book and just having fun while reading it. Furthermore, I love the teasing of believing that some portions of the novel could be more than just a book full of fiction. My imagination can run wild and I love that Cole played into that with her honesty.

Thank you NetGalley and Gallery Books for the read!

Wow!! What a story! Tessa opens her husbands iPad and discovers pictures of a naked women.
Her husband has had many late nights at work, but she has also been busy building her business - where has the time gone - - how did this happen - and what is going on - - who is this naked women
Tessa lures the mistress over and the discoveries begin.

Special thanks to the publisher, Gallery Books, NetGalley and Ms. Cole for an ARC of this very intriguing tale in exchange for an honest opinion.

Tessa is the wife. Lindsey is the mistress. Ethan is the husband they share. Tessa, at the start of a hurricane where she is home alone, has just learned of the situation. She texts Lindsey with Ethan’s iPad and tells her to come to their home as he was there alone. Lindsey comes. I won’t go any further into the narrative because of spoilers, but each chapter deals with one of the women and her vision of all that happened. In the conclusion, they are together and fireworks fly. Thanks to Net Galley and Simon & Schuster for an ARC for an honest review.

Lies, betrayal, drama, and heartbreak are all masterfully woven into this psychological thriller that has the wife confronting the mistress in the middle of a major hurricane. It’s a fast read as I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. Is it realistic? I’d say half of it is a no, but it sure was entertaining to read. Tess does what every betrayed wife usually fantasizes to do. Mine is an interesting, fast-paced book that is told from both women’s POV (the wife and the mistress). The dual perspectives on the affair really makes the story and I liked how each were portrayed. The emotion was real, raw, and sometimes frightening.

I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley.

Other reviewers have written extensively about the plot and even the ending. I will not duplicate their efforts here, but I heartily agree with the reviewer who wrote that the ending seemed rushed and the necessary final confrontation scene between the wronged wife and her cheating husband was missing.

I am not personally fond of cheating husband/wronged wife/entitled and unrepentant other woman plots, and I am not fond of crude language. Having said that, this book was a quick and easy read, and the frequent (every chapter) changes of first person point of view were not at all difficult to follow. As I understand it, the story was based on real events in the author's life, and as such had no real surprises or plot twists. The book was billed as a mystery/thriller but did not live up to my expectations for that genre.

This book was...interesting. An eye opener. A lesson learned for all parties involved for sure. I wish there was more. More from all parties involved. There was resolution but i felt as if it all ended to...happy almost.

What would you do if you accidentally found out that your husband is having an affair? Would you set up the other woman and invite her over to question her? Would you hurt her? This is the premise of the story Mine by Courtney Cole.

Tessa is a happy married woman planning to spend a romantic weekend with her husband. As they discover a hurricane is approaching, the husband tells her he has to stay out of town for work and not able to come home to help Tessa with the hurricane prep nor be there for their romantic getaway. Tessa goes and finds her husband’s iPad so she will have another way to contact the outside world if and when the electric goes out. What she discovers on the iPad is a text exchange between her husband and his girlfriend, Lindsey. Tessa makes a fast decision to use the iPad to invite Lindsay over but pretends to be her husband so she will come. This starts a serious of events that make you wonder if Tessa has gone too far and does Lindsay have any remorse for being the ‘other woman’?

This is an entertaining and fast read. It isn’t the best psychological thriller that I have read recently but it is hard to put down as you wait for the next event to unfold. I would recommend.

Thanks to NetGalley for giving me this advance copy for an honest review.

Thank you Net Galley and Gallery books for this page turner to review.

At 40 Tessa has the perfect life until she unlocks her husbands ipad and finds nude photos of a much younger Lindsey on there, Tessa sees red. With a strong hurricane barreling towards Florida, Tessa is home alone while her husband Ethan is away on business. Her children Ava and Connor are with her parents and her oldest Colt is away at college. It was supposed to be a romantic weekend for her and her husband but he gets delayed at work another day. Tessa decides to get Lindsey to her house to confront her. Then comes the twists and turns in this book you won't soon forget.

I have to say I was going to lay down read a little and hope for a little nap. Lets just say once I started reading this I couldn't put it down and read the whole thing. Not only did I like this book, it is very interesting and kept my attention. Please look for this review on Good Reads, Amazon, and Bookbub. This book will be published May 28th 2019.

This book had me sucked in from the first page and I finished it in less than a day! Thrilling and suspenseful the whole way through to the end. I wish there had been an epilogue telling us what happened with Tessa and Ethan...and even Lindsey. Loved it!

Tessa is a bad-ass. She’s an attractive, fit, self-made success. She’s the owner of a multi-million organic make-up company that she started as a stay-at-home mom as a side-job. She has it all, a huge house, more money than she could ever need and a successful and hot husband on top of it all. Don’t you just hate people like that?

Tessa doesn’t need a man. At the beginning of the book, she climbs up a ladder 45 times to shutter her mansion’s windows before a hurricane. I think that proves it. But still, she has an amazing marriage to Ethan that truly appears to be a partnership. They both work hard, and sometimes don’t make quite enough time for each other. But with jobs and kids, that’s life, right?

Tessa is so confident in her life and her marriage that she is completely blindsided to find naked pictures of her husband’s younger mistress on his iPad. Can you imagine? I mean, it’s one thing to find out your husband is cheating when you had no clue, it’s totally another to discover tacky nude pictures of his mistress. Ewww.

She’s unhinged. And she can’t think straight. She finds herself luring her husband’s mistress to her house, pretending to be Ethan. And things go a little crazy. Secrets are revealed and confessions are made.

Cole switches back and forth between the present day, madness and the evolution of Ethan and Lindsay’s affair. Also revealing interesting hints that Tessa never picked up on. Because why would she? She thought her husband loved her.

This book was a super-fast read, I read it in under 3 hours. And I’m always surprised by writers who are able to keep my attention and keep the story moving with a book that mostly occurs over the course of one night. But Cole does just that, keeping the story moving with flashbacks and surprising twists.

Special thanks to Gallery Books and Netgalley for an e-galley in exchange for my honest review. This one comes out May 28, just in time for pool season. For those that like their beach reads with a bit of suspense. This review will be published to my blog on April 24, 2019.

This has Lifetime movie written all over it. It was a quick read that kept me engaged and wondering how it was going to end. The end was short and felt abrupt. It left me wanting to know more but not as in sequel more. Another chapter or two to get more resolution. I still enjoyed the book and it was engaging.

Tessa has spirited her children away to safety with their grandparents and returned to her beachside home to batten the hatches before the storm hits. As the outer bands of the hurricane approach, Tessa discovers nude photos of another woman on her husband’s iPad. As her rage at Ethan’s infidelity builds, she lures Lindsey to the house with messages ostensibly from Ethan. Tessa thought she was living her dream; married to her soulmate of 20 years, three wonderful children, a rewarding and lucrative career and the perfect house. But the dream morphed into a nightmare. Lindsey is “the other woman,” much younger – 26 to Tessa’s 40, lean and lithe and even though Tessa stays in shape and takes care of herself, Lindsey has made it her mission to concentrate on Ethan and lavish on him what Tessa hasn’t. All of her time and attention. As the category four hurricane rages outside, inside are two women engaged in battle, each fighting to save her relationship with the same man. In “Mine” author Courtney Cole reveals the terror of being trapped inside by a major hurricane while life as you knew it is destroyed as you learn of your husband’s affair. We learn that deception has many faces but is Lindsey the only other woman? Are there more? What is real and what is reality? Cole’s perceptive use of the hurricane as a metaphor for the ruination of a marriage and the annihilation of the hopes and dreams of a young woman is clever and astute. “Mine” packs an emotional wallop and delivers spine-chilling suspense with enough twists and turns to keep you reading right into and through the eye of the storm. My thanks to Net Galley for furnishing an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Five stars.

This book was awesome! It really got into it,right from the start. Ending was a bit flat, but book was so good. One of my favorites this year!

Thanks to author ,publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book. While I got the book for free,it had no bearing on the rating I gave it.

I enjoyed this book. Tessa has been married to Ethan for 20 years, they have the perfect life. Big house, kids, dog, great careers. Tessa is alone -Ethan is on a business trip, she unlocks he iPad and finds out he is having a serious affair. This is in Florida and there is a hurricane. on the way. Tessa is stunned and goes on the attack. Since Ethan is not around, she goes after the girlfriend. This story is raw.
The writing is very good, and I found few errors. A good psychological novel worth a read.

When Courtney Cole described this book as “every wife’s worst nightmare”, she wasn’t kidding, and I felt every emotion Tessa felt as she uncovered the truth behind her husband’s affair.

While Tessa and Ethan appeared to have to perfect life together, it was everything but. It was kind of ironic that the night Tessa discovered the affair, there was literally a storm barreling toward their home (talk about symbolic!), but the storm within the home was just beginning. The lengths Tessa went to in order to lure Lindsay straight to her were both brilliant and, to be honest, a bit unhinged. Since Ethan was out of town at the time, it was almost too perfect of an opportunity for Tessa to confront the woman who turned her world upside down. But as it turns out, they were both played for fools by the very man they thought loved them.

I really enjoy Courtney Cole’s books, and this one was a quick, suspenseful read, but by the end I was left feeling a bit underwhelmed. I do like that she went in a different direction than I thought she would, but Ethan was such a huge component of the affair, and I felt like there wasn’t enough closure there. From the time Tessa finds out about the affair until the very end, all of Tessa’s communication with Ethan is via texts or conversing on the phone. I really wanted to see her confront him in person. I will say, though, I really liked the overall message at the end...”life will go on”. Definitely recommending this book and I look forward to reading more from Courtney Cole!

If you love Lifetime Movie Network as much as me, this is the book for you!

Tessa has been married to her husband Ethan for twenty years. They have three children, a dog, a beautiful home... their wedding vows. So imagine how she feels when she discovers he’s having an affair.

Amidst a hurricane, Tessa is able to confront Ethan’s mistress Lindsey. Just how far will she go to keep what is hers?

This book is definitely directed at a specific audience, and I certainly know some people who would call it “cheesy.” However, I’m not one of them.

I love a good cat fight, and I appreciated the perspectives from both Tessa and Lindsey. Overall, this was entertaining, and I found myself truly looking forward to what would happen next.

Sometimes those over-the-top books are just simply fun and what you need!
