This is one of the best books I've read in years. I love it! It totally kept me guessing for the entire book. Courtney Cole is a phenomenal author. This is the first book that I've read by her, but it definitely will not be my last. Looking up her previous books asap. You will not be disappointed in Mine by Courtney Cole.

“Maybe doing one terrible thing opens the door to other terrible things.”

When Tessa finds out her husband is having an affair with Lindsey, a much younger woman, she goes crazy. Not to mention the fact that she’s in the middle of a literal hurricane, since she lives in Florida on the beach. The power is out. She has little cell service. Oh...and her husband’s mistress handcuffed to her bed. Will Tessa let her emotions take over and hurt Lindsey...or worse???

I had heard mixed reviews on this book, many saying it wasn’t realistic. Isn't why we read books to get lost from reality for a little while? Tessa does what most people would hope to do if they found out their partner was cheating. At first, you want to hate Lindsey. Loathe her, even. But by the end, you see that she is a human, will real emotions and issues just like everyone else. She shows growth by the end of the book, all because of Tessa. Tessa shows strength and grace, realizing with or without her husband, she’ll be fine and that is a message I LOVE. This was definitely an enjoyable read! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 stars!!! .

Lies, deceit, betrayal.......craziness! And I loved it all!!

This book had me flipping the pages like a madwoman.....read it in less than 24 hours (which is a huge feat for me)!!!

So, what do you do when you discover your husband of 20 years is cheating on you with a younger woman, and you are stuck alone in the middle of a hurricane with barely a cellphone signal and a weak internet connection, losing your mind over all the scenarios going through your head? I honestly don't know what I would do, but what Tessa does is completely crazy, based on heartbreak and revenge, and just not at all what I was expecting!!! IT WAS SO FREAKING GOOD!!!!

You guys have to read this one.....it's so different from anything I've ever read! Special shout out to Tessa's son, Colt, who was a huge part of this story. The story importantly points out the strong relationship between mothers and their children too. These characters are flawed and somewhat broken in their own way. Ahhhh......I really wanted an Epilogue, but I'm definitely good with the way things ended!!

Tessa and her husband, Ethan, live in a wealthy area of Florida. They have three children; Colton (21) is in college, Connor (18) and Ava (15). Tessa drives her two youngest children to their grandparents house for a 3 week stay. During the 5 hour drive home, Tessa is close to being in the midst of a hurricane. When she is on the road, her husband calls her and says a big deal is making him stay another night out of town. In the midst of the hurricane's beginning, Tessa boards up the house's 45 windows in an hour. (Not bad for a 40-year-old woman!)
Ava had to take her mom's IPAD (she couldn't find her own) so Tessa uses Ethan's. She is not happy with what she finds. You see, his phone and IPAD are paired. Ethan is having an affair with someone called Lindsey or so it seems...

The book continues on in a manner that syncs real time and the past. Real time has to do with the hurricane and Lindsey with Tessa. The past is mainly Ethan with Lindsey (his mistress) .For someone who has already been with a man and had a son at 17, 26-year-old Lindsey hasn't seemed to have learned anything. Her son lives with his grandma out west so Lindsey can go to nursing school. And fool around with Ethan.

Although the read has a great premise, I found myself getting aa bit tired of the interactions between Tessa and Lindsey. Later in the read (as the hurricane is still raging) Tessa's son, Colton, comes to the door as Tessa had just knocked Lindsey to the ground .. .It also appears Colton may be off his medicine for hemophilia...

A good read!

Many thanks to Gallery, Threshold, Pocket Books and NetGalley for the chance to read and review!

Excellent book, totally five stars. I loved this. The characters were spot-on. The story was so well done. I wanted to totally go after the husband for being such a loser and a cheater, and you end up sympathizing with the main character as well as the mistress. This was such a well written book.

WOW!!! I was hooked from page one, I couldn't but the book down. The emotion was incredibly real, raw and frightening. I absolutely loved Ethan and Tessa's story.

A must read~!

I received this book from Netgalley for an honest review. The description of the book sounded intriguing. I found the book to be entertaining and a fast read but the story just didn’t ring true for me. Some of the incidents that occurred just seemed unbelievable to me. On the plus side, it was nice to see the strength the two women seemed to posess at the end of the book. #Netgalley #Mine

The phrase ‘hell hath no fury like a woman scorned’ is perfect for Mine by Courtney Cole.

As a fierce hurricane rages, Tessa readies the house for the storm. But there is another storm coming. After she innocently picks up her husbands Ethan’s ipad, she discovers he has been having an affair with a young woman named Lindsay. Anger simmers away as she quickly plots how she’s going to get answers. Pretending to be Ethan, she texts Lindsay and invites her to come over. But when Lindsay gets there, Tessa launches a surprise attack on her. The surprise is on her however because Lindsay is not going to take Tessa’s confrontation quietly.

This book was a quick read thanks to the tension on the pages. The reader wants to know how this is going to play out, but the whole time I was thinking if I were in Tessa’s shoes, I wouldn’t even want Ethan anymore! Would you?

Summary:

When Tessa Taylor unlocked her husband Ethan’s iPad to discover nude photos from a twenty-six-year-old bombshell named Lindsey, her seemingly perfect life came to a screeching halt.

With a hurricane barreling toward Florida and Ethan stuck on a business trip, Tessa finds herself imprisoned in her own home with a choice to make: Does she ride out the storm until she can confront Ethan in person, or does she take matters into her own hands? Increasingly restless and desperate for revenge, Tessa resolves to act. And when she lures Lindsey over a few hours later, there’s no turning back.

What ensues is a battle of wills between two well-matched opponents, blinded by love for the same man but driven by demons of their own. Like storm-ravaged Florida, neither woman will be the same when the skies clear.

I couldn't believe people walked away here. A lot of the story was deeply uncomfortable all around. Lots of emotion throughout and the prevailing one left for me was hate for the husband.

Courtney Cole is a go to author of mine. I find everything she writes, I love. This is a psychological thriller that I could not put down! I sat and finished it all in one day!!

This book was so good. The events were impactful. I felt like I could feel everything Lindsey and Tessa were feeling. I did kind of feel like I got cheated on at the end. Ironic, huh?! It was very well thought out and well-written. Courtney Cole has come to be one of my favorite authors and this book is just another testament to her ability to get you to feel for the characters and get caught up in the story.

I couldn’t get through this book fast enough! Feverishly turning my virtual kindle pages for the answers and ‘what’s happening’ thoughts going through my mind.

Tessa is a woman scorned. When she accidentally finds oodles of texts on her husbands iPad to another woman, she immediately switches from victim to a woman hell bent on answers- answers from the mistress. So she replies to her on Ethan’s iPad inviting her over to their home amidst a huge tropical storm. Her husband is away on business but the mistress doesn’t need to know that. What comes next is a story of anger, vengeance, and a power struggle between two women who love the same man. The woman who birthed his children, married to him for 20 seemingly happy years, versus the young beautiful, single-mother mistress who manipulates everything to get what she wants.

Who shall win?

Courtney Cole seriously took her story writing to an all new level with this book! It’s suspense at its finest- and not romantic like, at all. I wouldn’t call it that dark as the book cover makes it sort of look. It’s a rollercoaster ride of epic proportions. Power struggle and pain. I ate this up! I’d love to see a follow up novella, by the way!

Durning a hurricane barrelling toward Florida Tessa finds messages and nudes on her husband's iPad from a younger women. Every wife's nightmare! Tessa wants answers and with no cell service or Ethan home she settles for Lindsey, the other woman. Two emotionally driven women fighting for what they feel is Ethan's love ensues. I enjoyed the authors written it was sharp and raw. But parts of the story dragged for me. I found myself skimming rushing to get to the big confrontation between Tessa and Ethan because that's what we're leading up to right? Then the end happened and you had two women that grew from the pain and betrayal, which I liked. But we don't see Ethan. We don't see Tessa's decision and that was a let down.
Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read this. Love the authors writing style

OUTSTANDING! Courtney Cole has given us a story that is believable in that we all, of a certain age, can relate to. We either have lived through a similar situation, or most certainly know someone who has. Maybe not everyone will act to the extreme this protag did, but there are some who would go even further.

There’s no denying the intensity of Courtney Cole’s “Mine.” It’s as if Reba McEntire’s “Does He Love You” and Garth Brooks’ “Thunder Rolls” were put to page. The novel reads quickly and is fascinating. It’s an honest look at what adultery can do to a family and how it is devastating for everyone involved. If the book falters anywhere it is in its ability to land any of the twists. All of the turns are pretty telegraphed and I felt like I saw each of them coming well ahead of their delivery.
That being said, I’d still have no qualms about encouraging anyone to pick up a copy of “Mine.” It’s a perfectly serviceable drama that is made for curling up with on a dark and stormy night.

If this was an early draft, I’d say it has a lot of great potential. However, the plot leaves a lot to be desired. Some of it just isn’t realistic. I think the author had too much of a personal stake in this one. It just read as a soap opera and not a true thriller.

in 2018, Cole's book "Saving Beck" made my best fiction of the year list. Now, Cole has returned with "Mine," a psychological thriller that pits wife against mistress in the middle of a major hurricane. Not only is the rain coming down outside, but the world is crashing on the inside of Tessa's house as well. Told in alternating perspectives from Tessa to Lindsay, we get multiple perspectives on the affair and how we are led to this point. Tension is high and drama is plentiful. I can't wait to see what Cole puts out in 2020 now!

Tessa, a happily married woman, is forced to weather a hurricane raging outside their home when her husband informs her that he won’t be coming home for their romantic weekend alone that Tessa has been looking forward to. Their children are away, and she wanted this time for them. But he informs her he must remain away on business a little longer for work. After securing her home, she goes looking for her iPad instead she finds her husband's iPad and her whole world falls apart when she finds naked photos of another woman and racy text messages between this woman and her husband.

Alone, devastated, angry, and heartbroken, she comes up with a plan. A plan to lure his Lindsay, his mistress, to their home. When these two women are alone in the home together, what will happen?

This was an entertaining and extremely fast read. It also felt like a lifetime or made for tv movie. This is a book which will have the reader questioning what he or she would do in this situation. Your spouse of twenty years is having an affair, how would you react? What would you do?

I don't know a lot about Hurricanes but in one scene, Tessa can barely see to drive and decides not to turn around and leave due to not being able to see, then the mistress willingly gets in her car and drives to Tessa's home thinking she is seeing Ethan. All I could think it this guy must be great in bed for her to risk her safety to drive around in a Cat 4 Hurricane. Seriously, not all things seem plausible, but people do risky things for love all the time.

Fast read, but also a little of a train wreck. I can see this being a lifetime-type movie. In some ways this reminded me of the movie called Obsessed. Not the same premise but deals with infidelity and two women...well, read the book and/or watch the movie. Fast read, but will I remember it, No. But it was entertaining. Pure escapism. This one might stir up feelings about infidelity whether you have ever been on the receiving end, or you were the cheater, or the other party. Either way, be warned. Revenge on the mistress.... hmmm, maybe it's just me but my spouse would be the one in trouble with me. But everyone reacts differently. Nuff said.

A friend recommended this author and when I read the blurb for this book, I knew it was something I wanted to read. The concept is complex and real. The author has given us a glimpse into a woman’s life when she’s experienced the greatest betrayal.

Overall, I enjoyed the story. The authors writing is clean and the whole time I was reading MINE I got the feeling the author had experienced some of these feelings firsthand. However, this book left me with more questions than answers. But maybe that was just me.
