Giving this one star isn't really fair because I did like it - even if I liked it for the wrong reasons. I finished this in one afternoon because I was dumbfounded by the portrayal of Tessa the "wronged" woman (i.e. Tessa discovers her hubby is having an affair) and the actions and emotions of Tessa.

When Tessa, in a fit of rage, runs into the bathroom to grab her red lipstick to scrawl "whore" across the chest of the jezebel who is carrying on with Tessa's hubby and, by the way, is being held captive and handcuffed in Tessa's bedroom - it was all too much for me.

Tessa has wonderful life: 3 beautiful children, a handsome, loving husband, an envious lifestyle, and a career that she built from the ground up. She drops her youngest children off with her parents for their yearly summer visit, and gets the usual “words of wisdom” from her mother that her career keeps her away from her husband and children too much. Heading back home and knowing that a hurricane was on the way, and her husband is held up in New York with a business trip, she prepares to face the storm on her own...but little does she know there is a whole different kind of storm awaiting her. Alone in her home, she finds proof that her husband is having an affair...and text messages that come in for him are answered by her, luring the mistress, Lindsey, to her house where she plans to find out about the mistress and the affair. The writing takes us through the details chapter by chapter, devoting one to Tessa and the next to Lindsey. Both women are adamant that they are the one that Ethan truly loves, and will discard the other once he knows he must make a choice. The rage and righteousness that each encounters in the other startles them both. How far will this rage allow them to go to discover the secrets and lies behind the affair...as the hurricane whips up its own type of rage outside the home. Character development helps us to understand the women and their relationship with Ethan. The story pulls the reader along with the anger and frustration of the women through the surprising outcome. I received an ARC of this book from the author, publisher and NetGalley in return for an honest review, which this has been. #Mine, #NetGalley

OH MY GOODNESS!
Tessa arrives home alone just as the hurricane hits. Her oldest child is off at school and the younger kids are safe with the grandparents. She's rushed home to spend the weekend with her husband who blows her off at the last second, allegedly for work. She believes him as she has always believed in him, because if you can't trust your own husband who can you trust? Then she sees the messages. Dozens of them, from the woman he's been having an affair with. She is crushed. She wants answers, and she wants to confront him, but he's not there and the cell service is dying from storm damage. Suddenly she knows just what to do, she'll get her answers from the mistress instead.
My thoughts are all over the place. I just finished this book and now see why the cover is so very perfect. I tore through this novel as quick as the hurricane force winds that descended on Tessa's life.
This is a powerful story, rich with betrayal and steeped in rage, or maybe the rage is my own, I can't even tell anymore if I am feeling my own emotions or those of Tessa. You will want to hug your husband after reading this, if he is trustworthy. You may want to smack him if he isn't. Either way you will feel something. This is not the kind of book that you can just put down and go about your day. You wont forget this one so easily.

Forget the hurricane coming, this whole book was a storm in itself! From beginning to end, I was glued to Courtney's every word, it's as if my life depended on finishing the story. Now, what do you get when a wife and mistress are holed up under one roof with no escape? A sh*t show, that's what! Shocked and confused, Tessa, Ethan's wife, seeks out Lindsey for answers. Will Tessa uncover the truth behind her marriage or will it be more than what she bargained for?

Tessa has it all, looks, a beautiful family and a business savvy mind. But, when her whole world tumbles down on her, she snaps. I resonated with her personality a lot, her pain and anguish about her husband's affair evidently grabbed at my heart and made my blood boil.

Weirdly enough, both Tessa and Lindsey, the mistress, had likable moments. Even in times where I wanted to grab Lindsey through the novel and pull her hair out. As for Ethan, ugh. Words cannot convey how much I despised him. He's just a bad seed to man kind that never deserved a woman like Tessa.

All in all, MINE is an insatiable novel that questions the reality of marriage and the drama between two women fighting over one man. By the end, I was pleasantly surprised and I didn't want it to end. I read this heart pumping thriller in two sittings and I highly recommend it if you're looking for a book that'll make you feel bi polar. One minute you'll want to throw it against the wall, and the next you're getting emotional. Whatever Courtney comes out with, you bet your ass I'm buying it!

I absolutely adored Cole's Saving Beck last year and when I saw she came out with this Domestic/Psychological Thriller, I was beyond excited to receive a surprise copy. SCORE! We get your typical premise when it comes to wife/mistress/husband... but Cole does it with such finesse that I literally opened this book to page one and three hours later turned the last page and finally put it down. Yes, ladies and gents, it's THAT compulsive of a read!

What happens when you make your bed and then your husband and his mistress sleeps in it? You think you have a solid and loving marriage and then one tragic moment when you open his iPad and see his sexts to his mistress and your whole world implodes while the outside world explodes in a hurricane. How apropos. Lure said mistress to your house and let the crazy begin! When a woman feels disrespected and betrayed, on either side, anything can happen. Your first thought is revenge on the woman and then potentially the man who caused the whole situation to begin with.

Listen, shit gets real. Everything contained in this book is plausible, bat shit or not. I could not put this book down. Then, when I read the afterword and found that Cole wrote this based on her own experiences with infidelity - wow, just wow honestly. Some couples can make it through, some can't. But what's true through and through is the rage that is felt. Even for the woman who knew what she was walking into - does she really though? Love is blind but so is rage.

Absolutely recommend this for a quick, fast paced ride to crazy town - population: EVERYONE.

What a waste! I hate giving bad reviews; this one is too much for me! You find out your husband is cheating on you, he is out of town, a hurricane is coming, you call his mistress to vent on her!
I don't know who is more insane, of twisted, the husband, of the mistress! I can understand the wife's anger; what I can't understand are people who read trash like this? I guess if you watch a Soap Opera, Reality TV, or read People magazine, then you might love it!?
I am tired of so many books lately, where the husband can't be trusted, the wife falls apart, or believes everything she is told!
The ironic part of this is, I live in Tallahassee, FL, we are boosters at FSU, Santa Rosa is maybe two and half hours away? In October of last year we went through a hurricane, we lost nine 75 foot trees, it flooded, we lost our electricity for the wee! Would anyone be so consumed by by a two-bit mistress during a killer storm. This book is for Lifetime TV watchers! Too unbelievable for my taste. I am certain other people will love it.

❥My Review: He’s Mine! No Mine!! NOOOO He’s MINE!
What would you do if you found out your husband was being unfaithful?
This novel is packed with DRAMA, the kind that shocks you, time and time again..
Tessa is happy, she’s got her wonderful kids, she’s been married to her husband for over twenty years, she has her own extremely successful business, and everything is the way it should be.. or is it?
When Tessa finds out the devastating secret her husband has been keeping from her, she takes matters into her own hands.. to get to the bottom of his lies.
Little does she know.. there’s a lot more she doesn’t know..
The first thing I can tell you about this novel is that it’s written in dual POV, and these I’ve mentioned before are my favorite kinds of reads! Why? Because you understand the character sooo much more. I love the writing style!
It kept me reading and I did not want to put the book down, even though it was 2 am and I had to wake up for work at 6am.. AHHH!
The writing comes with such great detail! The characters, the events. It was truly un-putdownable! I did find myself frustrated with both characters from time to time, but I think that’s a normal human feeling that came with reading the story.
I have a great feeling this will be one of the most talked about mystery/thrillers when it gets released!!
I’ve preordered My Copy!!

With all her children gone, Tessa is planning a romantic weekend with her husband, Ethan. Until she learns a hurricane is headed right for their Florida home and Ethan is stuck in New York. Storm prep complete, she picks up Ethan’s iPad just in time to see naked selfies from a very young woman named Lindsey.

Tessa lures Lindsey to her house, determined to have it out with her. As the storm rages outside, the women rage inside, both learning very uncomfortable truths about the past several months of their lives and the man they both thought they loved.

MINE is a compelling suspense novel. Neither Tessa nor Lindsey conform to the stereotypes for the wronged wife and other woman. Tessa is beautiful, successful, and loving. Lindsey is beautiful, manipulative, and vulnerable. Both are flawed but manage to learn some hard truths. Ethan? He deserves whatever revenge they exact on him. #NetGalley

I love a good revenge story and while the basic premise of this is nothing new, I liked the idea of a wife and the mistress being stuck together during a hurricane, I mean what could possibly go wrong?! While this wasn’t a bad read by any means it was over the top, melodramatic and utterly implausible, so if you have a difficult time suspending disbelief, this isn’t for you. However, if you like Lifetime movies, train wrecks, and soap operas, you may like this one.

There was a lot to like about this one, it was incredibly fast paced and gripping right away to start, I found myself sucked into the lives of Tessa and Lindsey immediately. I was captivated in the same way as when I’m watching a cat fight during an episode of the Real Housewives so make of that what you will. The writing was also solid, no doubt that the author is talented and I also liked the whole locked room vibe of both women being trapped together. Beyond that though I did struggle, it was just so far fetched and unbelievable, I was especially not impressed by the ending and found it to be both unrealistic and unsatisfying. As you can see, I’m torn here, I can’t say I actively liked or disliked this one. Super helpful I know, but if you truly like books that read like a made for TV movie then this will probably be fine.

This was a great book. I love the characters and the story kept me interested all the way through. My opinion of this book, hopefully without giving away to much of the story, it’s about an affair. The writer gives you the view from each persons perspective and it shows you the things people will do for the sake of love and happiness. It also shows you the damage that happens to everyone in the family not just the people involved in the affair. I loved the many changes that took place the farther into the story I got and how the story ended. I was so engrossed in this book that I didn’t realize the sun had risen and I had read the whole book in one night. That’s when you know it’s a great book! I totally give this five thumbs up 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼and would recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a great book to get lost in.

Dang. What started out about a cheating husband and his somewhat unhinged mistress really turns out to belle about self-worth and respect than anything.

I do think this would be a solid Lifetime movie.

Mine by Courtney Cole is as wild and raging as the damaging hurricane that plays a pivotal part in her novel. It's suspenseful, dramatic, tense, and twisty in all the right places. I stayed up reading it until 5 am, so it definitely kept my rapt attention!

Tessa Taylor is looking forward to a romantic weekend with her husband of twenty years until Ethan suddenly calls to say he's stuck in meetings out of town and not coming home. She's devastated and to make things worse, a category 4 hurricane is headed straight for their house, and she's going to be riding the storm out all alone. At least her youngest kids are safe with her parents and her oldest son is safe at college...

Once Tessa secures their home against the raging storm, she settles down with Ethan's iPad since she can't find hers. Wow, is she in for the shock of her life when she opens it and sees texts and sexy photos to Ethan from a younger woman named Lindsey! Tessa is clearly in shock because how could Ethan be cheating on her when they are so happily married...or so she thought! Everything she thought she knew about her marriage comes crashing around her. She becomes blinded by rage towards Lindsey and Ethan.

Yet, Lindsey becomes the target of her revenge, and she texts her pretending to be Ethan telling her to come over in the middle of the hurricane to ride out the storm. No matter what happens or what she has to do, Tessa is going to confront the woman who tried to take her husband!

The story is told in alternating POVs with Tessa's story taking place in the present and Lindsey's taking place in the past with her own version of events of how she met Ethan, her love for him, and her belief that he's hers. The stories converge and move together until the final conclusion.

This is a tale of betrayal, heartbreak, pain, rage, madness, and revenge, and it makes you think long and hard about what you'd do if you were Tessa. I've never enjoyed a novel about a betrayed wife and a manipulative mistress more than I did this one! Just who will win the battle to prove Ethan is theirs? You'll have to read and find out!

Put this in on your summer reading list for a fast-paced, wildly compelling reading experience!

I had never read this author but when I read the description of the book I flashed back to the movie Fatal Attraction and couldn’t wait to read it. It wasn’t nearly as clever as Fatal Attraction or to be fair as dark but still had that stalker vibe.

Tessa found out her husband was having an affair with Lindsey and decided to take things into her own hands. Passion can make you do things that you might regret. The confrontation with Lindsey takes place during a hurricane which also is part of the story.

I felt the story was predictable between Tessa and Lindsey but I did like how the story changes from Tessa to Lindsey’s perspective. I found their perspectives on their relationships with Ethan, the cheater, interesting and surprising. This was a quick read that held my interest

I ended up putting this book down by 60%. I typically love domestic thrillers, but this one was so boring. The characters are so one dimensional. We barely know who the characters are besides their looks. Tessa’s perspective is so boring that hers ended up being dragged out.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received an advance reader’s copy of Mine in exchange for an honest review. The description on Goodreads is different than the description of the book when I agreed to read it. Tessa is a woman in a seemingly perfect marriage with the perfect family. However, all that changes on the night of a hurricane in Florida. Tessa discovers that her husband, Ethan, is having an affair. Tessa just happens to be home by herself when she finds out. Tessa then proceeds to do what many of us may have done and that is act on instinct. She confronts the mistress and the story takes off from there.
This was a very quick read, in fact, I read it in one day (and I actually had other things going on that day). That being said, I don’t think it’s possible to read a book in one day if you don’t really like it. As you’re reading the book, you really wonder how this situation is going to end and there are several twists along the way to keep you guessing.
Wow what a book! Tessa seems to have it all. A handsome husband, a great job, a beautiful home, 3 amazing children, and a lot of money. Her husband Ethan travels a lot for business, and one weekend Tessa drops her children off at her parents home so she can have a weekend alone with her husband. He is due to arrive back home from his recent work trip later that evening. Tessa is excited and cannot wait to have some alone time with her husband.

While driving back to their home hours away to prepare for her husbands arrival, he calls to let her know that he is sorry but he has to extend his trip to secure a business deal and will not be back that evening. Tessa is devastated, she was so looking forward to spending this weekend with her husband and had everything all planned out.

When Tessa gets home, she picks up her husbands ipad and sees a text from a strange woman. Her name is Lindsey. What the heck is going on? Who is this woman? Tessa quickly learns that her husband appears to be having an affair and her whole world as she knows it comes crumbling down.

This story is told in alternate points of view. Tessa’s POV in the present and Lindsey;s POV in the past. I enjoyed the way this was done to give us some background information on Lindsey and how she met Ethan. It was interesting to read how her story evolved and to hear things from her perspective.

Nothing is as it seems, and both women are ready to fight for the man they love. Who will win? The wife or the mistress? Will one come out on top, will they stay with Ethan? Both are ready for the fight of their life, and both are determined to be the winner. A nail biting, vindictive novel full of lies, secrets, and the ultimate betrayal. A great book!

This book was captivating from the very beginning. The character growth is realistic and the dialogue is believable. I was able to get lost in this book and I was unable to put it down. The ending is not expected and I was thoroughly happy with it. This is a great quick read!

Yep - Courtney totally messed with my head on this one. I didn't see the twists and turns coming. And the shockers towards the end - not at all. Hold onto your hats, folks! This one is going to take you for a ride that you won't soon forget!

I received this book free from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
Thanks NetGalley!

the subject matter isn't easy to read, but man this was a great book.

The cover reminded me a little of "you" by caroline kepnes, but the book wasn't exactly similar.

psychological thriller. wife vs the other woman. who's to blame?

read it. don't question it.

What an unforgettably captivating read this is! I was hooked from the first couple of pages to the very end of this story that includes love, marriage, infidelity, revenge, coping and learning to accept just to name a few of the emotions I came across while reading in this book. Tessa and Ethan Taylor are a rich, successful couple with 3 high achieving teen-age children. Ethan decides to go on a dating site and meets much younger, beautiful, Lindsay Vale, a single mother working as a secretary and going to college nights studying nursing. As a hurricane rages outside, the two women meet and you will not be able to put this book down. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this very suspenseful book. If I could, I would give this book more than 5 stars.
