Travel was a formative influence and of prime importance in Allen Ginsberg’s life, and this well-researched and insightful book chronicles his travels to 66 countries on journeys that sometimes lasted months and even years. His itinerant lifestyle shaped his personality, his politics and of course his poetry. Entertaining and illuminating this account is a must read for anyone interested in the Beat poets, but also a fascinating introduction to the movement for anyone less knowledgeable. Highly recommended.
