I wanted to read this novella almost on a whim. I know of Alison Bliss and I own two of the three Perfect Fit novels. I just haven't read them yet. When Meant to Be jumped in front of me I figured it was the best way to dive into Bliss' series. I was definitely right to do so.

Like many novellas, for me, Meant to Be gives me both a taste of the author's writing and a taste of the series in a short amount of time. I read this one fairly quickly for me and it was hard to put down when life told me to. I really enjoyed Brett and how Bliss wrote him. He's flawed, he knows it, he's making a constant effort to change for the better. Sidney is a strong woman, doesn't want to give into her heart for good reason. These two have been apart for a year, but as the title suggests, some things are just meant to be. The journey won't be easy, but reading that journey was a great Valentine's Day treat for me!

I'll definitely be visiting this series again soon.

Due to being a novella, Meant to Be did not showcase the funny side which I have come accustomed from Ms. Bliss, but this is still a cute & fun read which I thoroughly enjoyed, including the unexpected ending.

Short, sweet and satisfying! If you've been reading the Perfect Fit series by Alison Bliss, you will quickly recognize the characters of this book and enjoy watching them get their second chance at love. It's too short of a book to get a super detailed plot, but it hits the spot with Bliss's signature sass and heartwarming cast. Enjoyed it and looking forward to more to come in the series!

Brett Carmichael's temper and overbearing ways got what was coming to them when his girlfriend Sidney Larson walked away from him and left him heartbroken. He took a long, hard look at himself and has worked hard to change with the help of therapy over the last few months. A chance encounter brings Sidney back into his life again, and he's hopeful that she will notice the change and maybe give him a second chance.

What a refreshing change! This was my first experience with Alison Bliss’ writing, and I am happy to say, it absolutely won’t be my last. This is a very short novella about Sidney and Brett, a couple who broke up a year before and reunite over a flat tire.

I love that Brett realized that the relationship ended because he had a problem controlling his temper. Not only did he acknowledge that he had a problem, he actually got professional help. Reading about a hero who admits his failings, and really works to change in a healthy way made me so happy.

I didn’t like that Brett took all the blame for their relationship ending but overall, this was a cute little novella with a nice little bit of steam at the end. I actually think it would have made an excellent full novel. It was so fun rooting for Sidney and Brett as they fought their way to an HEA. Alison Bliss is clearly a gifted writer. I can’t wait to go back and read the whole series!

Alison Bliss did an amazing job with the Meant to Be Novella. Part of the Perfect Fit series it is probably one of my favorites so far.
Brett is looking into purchasing space to open his own business and ends up late as he finds his ex, Sidney broke down on the side of the road. After being reunited unexpectedly they both discover that they want to be back together.
Bliss does a great job keeping you entertained with her quirky sense of humor.
I received this book for my honest review from Netgalley .

A short story that has two people Sidney Larson and Brett Carmichael who dated for a year. Brett then surprised Sidney at her work at the bank as a loan officer and got involved in a conversation that was between her and the person who was a customer. Breaking up with him within minutes afterward. Months later Brett who is a mechanic and is looking at purchasing a bigger place leaves town to go meet the person for a meeting, but can’t help himself when he notices a woman off to the side with a flat tire. Stopping. When he comes around the car he sees that it is her Sidney. Not able to fix her car he takes her back into town and misses his appointment but does not tell hear. The next day when she comes to pick up her car they go get something to eat first and during that time are interrupted by a man who is taking her out that very night, watching Brett see if he is going to react like he used to with guys. She is surprised when he does not and leaves. Later that night she was thinking she would run into him, but it was not until after her date fell apart. Finding out where he was hiding. They decide to go out the next night. It was then that everything between took a turn and the story gets hot to the exciting end. Which was a very good ending. Liked the characters and the story for a quick read.

Brett and Sidney are 2 of my favorite characters in all of Alison’s books. After breaking up a year ago because of Brett’s overprotective and overbearing ways, they are thrown together again when Brett comes upon Sidney on the side of the road with a flat tire. He’s on his way to an important meeting...but he can’t in good conscience leave a woman on the side of the road trying to change a flat tire.
Will they work things out and get back together? You’ll have to read the book to find out.
I love all of Alison’s books. This is a quick read, sweet, sexy and like all of her books, LOL funny. I can’t wait for more!

Meant to Be is a novella that falls under the More to Love series by Alison Bliss. I have not read the series yet, and I was still able to fully enjoy this novella! I have read other books by Alison, and I was hooked by her witty banter and just plain funny stories she writes. Meant to Be did not have the ability to really dive into the funny side of Alison due to that, but I really enjoyed the banter of the main characters!

I am always leery of reading a series out of order, I hate spoilers and want to be introduced to their stories organically. I am very happy to report that this book did NOT spoil any of the previous books in this series, and I am definitely looking to go back to book one. I saw some cameos from who I assume are the previous couples, but they were introduced in a non-spoiler fashion.

I am making a huge assumption here in that Brett and Sidney, the main couple in this book, had a really epic and possibly notable break-up in the More to Love series, based on the context of the book. Even not knowing that for sure, I can definitely feel the emotions of both characters coming off the pages! Their bantering back and forth spoke of a deep connection, one that absence has not weakened. Once the action and drama between the characters picked up, I could not put this down. I was completely enthralled with their story! If you’re looking for a good back and forth ribbing, some light-hearted action and low angst, then this is the perfect read for you. I know that once I finished this book, I immediately ran to Amazon to start the series form the beginning!

This was a cute, super quick read that touches on some pretty serious issues. Sidney and Brett have a past. Their break up was primarily due to Brett's bad temper. Since then he's worked hard to address his anger issues and become a better man. Now they have a second chance and Brett wants to prove to Sidney he's changed. Sidney's changed too and not necessarily for the better. Will her insecurities keep her from giving Brett a chance?

This was short but well done. I'd recommend it.

Fun second chance at love story

Meant to Be is the newest addition to Alison Bliss’ Perfect Fit series which I’ve loved.
Brett and Sidney have had a rocky past, but a year apart has given both time to think and grow. I thought the story was cute but felt there were some questions in the plot left hanging, though the couple did get their HEA.

After a flat tire reunites Brett Carmichael and Sidney Larson, their lives continue to cross, causing them to wonder if what they used to have was worth fighting for.
Meant to Be is a funny, second-chance romance written by the wonderful Alison Bliss. Her stories always make me proud of my curves and this novella continued to do just that. A quick and steamy read, that's perfect for Valentine's Day!

4.5 Stars
This was a very quick read. It was cute, lovable and funny. I didn't want it to end.
I love second chance stories and this one was perfect! I definitely want to get the rest of the series.

This was a quick little read. I think by necessity, characters in short stories are not as well developed and these felt a little one dimensional. The plus size thing also felt a little forced. But it was quick and cute and a nice break for me.

Short, but wonderful second chance romance. I really need to pick up the other books in this series!

Sidney Larson always thought dark-haired, blue-eyed Brett Carmichael was sinfully sexy, to say nothing of the muscular mechanic's talent with his hands. But Sidney so didn't have time for Brett's overbearing tendencies when they were together so she broke things off. Now a chance encounter brings Brett back into her life, and Sidney can't help but notice intriguing changes in her ex. So what's stopping her from revisiting their scorching-hot chemistry?

Since Sidney dumped him, Brett's made major life adjustments, thanks to therapy and a long, hard look at himself. Sure, he's still intense but he knows how to focus his energy on his career, not on trying to control a fantastic woman like Sidney. Brett finds the sweet, generous brunette more seductive than ever, but now that he's finally worthy of her, will she be willing to give him a second chance?

Such a cute story! I adored the characters and thought they worked well together. This was the perfect read just in time for Valentine's day.

I loved this book. This is my first time reading Alison Bliss and it won’t be the last. A fun, lighthearted romance novella with a touch of steamy mixed in. While I’m not a fan of the steamy part,, it didn’t override or overrun the story. Quick read, great story.
