I loved this book from the beginning. The plot and story line had me hooked from the first few pages. I would definitely recommend this novel to a friend and look forward to more from the author.

I guess I didn’t realise this is the third installment so I missed the character backstory. I kept waiting for the backstory to unfurl. Might be a better idea to suggest that this isn’t a stand-alone but rather part of a series, so the reader goes in with the right idea.

I was excited by the premise that it would be horror mixed with thriller. But I was disappointed.
It’s just horror/ thriller for namesake. Would have been better if the story wasn’t so predictable.

It is an easy and short read, so at least I didn’t invest much time

Absolutely loved this book. Definitely 5 star read. Could not put this one down.
A wonderful mystery!! Also could be read as a stand-alone but I recommend all her books.

The drowned woman is the third instalment of the Sarah Bennett mysteries and I have to say they are really enjoyable books, you could read them as a standalone novel but the characters backstory helps, The nice thing about these stories is there is just the right amount of intrigue and mystery and the writing style flows, there is no gratuitous violence or bad language just an engaging mystery to be solved. I look forward to book 4

I love historical fiction and I love thrillers... and I love it when an author marries the two. This was a great read all around!

# The Drowned Women # Netgalley.

A very good read, however when I started this book I genuinely thought something weird was happening to me, as if I had either lived this situation or some bizarre premonition. I knew exactly what was going to happen before I even read it. Now truthfully it was a little spooky. Over the years it not uncommon for to to have picked a book up thinking at some point I had not read it, until I start reading a couple of pages. So the only explanation I could think is I have read this before, However I kept looking at the title and just knew I had not read the Drowned women. I continued yet all the way I had read so far I genuinely knew. I was either going crackers or something. Now let’s chat about the book, it’s interesting and absorbing with twists coming really early in the book which really appeals to me. Although at some points I didn’t want to put the book down, although I still knew what was to come. Cutting a long story short. There’s only ever in my entire life I have ever been able to read 1 book more than the once. It’s something I just can’t do read a book more than the once. I do recommend you do read this book it’s definitely got a few dark twisted moments where you feel yourself getting tense, because you want something or someone to get away. So I do recommend this it’s a really good book, and to my relief. I wasn’t going crackers or losing the plot. I had read this book before under a different title thank god. On the whole a very good twisted plot and well worth reading, especially now I know I am not losing my mind lol 😂. As I was reading I honestly thought something weird was going off, so that reason for me because I was slightly disturbed by knowing what was to come spoilt it for me. Please please do not let my weird and wonderful read spoil it for you. It’s definitely a book to be read.

5 stars loved!! It gave me that “RL Stine-ish vibe” that I used to get reading a ghostly mystery! Definitely a breath of fresh air!
Thank you to net galley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read this booK in exchange for an honest review.

yesssss! This one is a winner for sure! At first I wasn't so sure about it... it was going towards more of a mystical world but I am glad it was a suspense novel. The writing is excellent! I highly recommend.

I didn't realize that this was part of a series, and unfortunately, it's not one that can be read and stand on its own outside of the series. Also, I'm not a fan of historical mystery series, and that's exactly what this is, so I'm not the target audience for this genre. I was suckered in by the GORGEOUS cover, and I skimmed over the content of the book when I realized that not only was it a genre I don't care for, it was a part of series I haven't read. My suggestion would be to make it clear in the description that The Drowned Woman is part of a series because it's very misleading to not include that information. Whether I somehow missed it when looking over the description before requesting or not, I think it would help a lot of people out to put that info where it can be easily seen by anyone looking to either request this book here on NetGalley or even purchase it when it's available to the public. Lastly, whoever designed the cover did an excellent job because that's honestly what drew me in in the first place! The cover and the title are wonderfully intriguing, and they certainly were successful in drawing a reader's eye!
