Am always a huge huge fan of Keris Stainton’s books, in fact she’s one of the authors I recommend the most. This was the story of someone who felt threat she hadn’t really achieved, and didn’t know where she was going. The characters as ever, were bright and vivid and I felt for Cat so much. There was the return of old face from her past, reminding her of an old life she led. I’ll admit it was the promise of actual stand up comedy that sealed me grabbing for this book, and I would be pernickity in that I would have liked a tiny bit more, or perhaps more of a behind the scenes look or something- which I always liken to when they used to critique someone like Leona Lewis on the X factor- it’s a nice to have but Keris Stainton is still rom on perfection! Beyond enjoying and entertaining! Thanks so much to the publisher for the book in return for an honest review.

Read this book so quickly and didn't want it to end! Keris Stainton crafted such a wonderful story with characters that quickly felt like friends (I mean, who doesn't want a friendship like Kelly and Cat's?). Besides delightful characters, a dash of romance, and a great storyline, Stainton manages to sprinkle in a ton of humor and tender moments. I 100 percent recommend this book and am honestly typing my review quickly so I can buy all of the rest of Stainton's books. :)

Keris Stainton is a favourite author of mine. She has a great instinct for dialogue and characters and relationships. With every story of hers I read I find myself relating again and again to her writing style and the situations that her characters find themselves in. They're so funny and romantic and I can't seem to get enough.

I adored Cat's character and the light=hearted storyline. There were a few genuinely laugh out loud moments too. Highly recommended!

It starts off slow and kind of dense, but once the action begins, it's hard to resist the story as it drives forward. It reads as a true epic, one that makes you feel the world really has been reshaped as you read it. Would recommend.

I really wish I had the chance to read ‘The One Who’s Not The One’ before now. I’ve just devoured it in two days!

We meet Cat who is a single working woman however she’s not able to get her life together to the point of her best friend Kelly. Cat has had the same job for years and her life just doesn’t seem to have moved on in the five years since Sam left her to go to Australia. She also gave up doing stand up comedy once Sam left. Kelly has a husband, a son with another baby on the way and a beautiful home.

Cat then bumps into Sam’s younger brother Harvey and so their friendship restarts (after a couple of misunderstandings naturally!) Cat faces some challenges with her work and love life but will she make the life for herself that she deserves? I really urge you to go and find out! 😊

Keris’s writing is witty, full of depth for her characters and totally relatable. I also loved how it was just to the point and just such an easy going read, perfect for anywhere. I was totally invested in Cat’s journey that I just couldn’t put it down! ❤️ I’m so glad that I’ve got some of Keris’s other book already loaded on my kindle. I give ‘The One Who’s Not The One’ 4*/5*

I absolutely did not think I would enjoy this book, as anything marketed as a rom-com usually falls flat on the 'com' front and leaves me cringing inwardly. I was pleasantly surprised however, as the story of Cat and her love life left me rooting for her and hoping for her happy ending. The path to true love never runs smoothly as they say, and I was pleased that this book had an equal dose of reality rather than just a load of fairy-tale magic. Despite being a rom-com, it had enough depth for me to feel invested in the main characters, and enjoy the whole plot. The author held my interest throughout and I thoroughly enjoyed this easy and light-hearted read.

This book was so fun! I loved Cat, her crazy life with her roommates and Harvey her new love interest even though he's the brother of her ex. This book was so well written and the characters were fantastic.

The tagline on this book says it all….’A Feel-Good, Laugh Out-Loud, Romantic Comedy’. Those words describe this book to a tee. I’m a fan of Keris Stainton’s books. I know exactly what I’m getting when I crack open the cover…a fun adventure that’s sure to make me laugh, with exceptional characters to boot. The One Who’s Not the One was no exception.

The main character is Cat (LOVE that name!). She’s in a rut, being broken up from her boyfriend for 5 years, at the same monotonous job for several years, and getting the most excitement by visiting her best friends family (including her elementary aged son). She’s stuck, and her love life is on reverse, if that’s even possible! When her past becomes her present, things start to look up for Cat. She’s in for a whirlwind of surprises and change.

There were parts in this book where I literally laughed out loud. Cat’s behavior (and language) is so crass it’s comical. She is blunt and comedic, sharing her voice at times when it may not be necessary to do so. But, this character is full of depth…dealing with a fear of abandonment.

I enjoyed this fast paced book. Be forewarned though, if you are easily offended then Cat’s mouth might put you off. If not, then I hope you enjoy!

Fun, easy read. The character is a bit depressing to start, but turns it around. Overall a quick read.

An entertaining, funny read. You’ll want Kelly to be your best friend by the end of it, you may also wish to give Cat a bit of a shake. Good read if maybe slightly confused in the first two thirds. This wouldn’t lit me off reading anything else by this author. Enjoy!

Thank you NetGalley.

Cat is feeling a bit stuck in a rut. Her job is a bit too easy. Her flat share is not going well. Her love life is non existent.
Then she spots in a newspaper that her former love Sam has returned from Australia and is doing a stand up routine about her! She used to do stand up too but lost confidence: can she get her life back under control?
Her other romantic interests include Sam’s brother Harvey and her boss Nick. Will she choose the right man? Who is The One?
I loved Cat’s relationship with her best friend Kelly. I really wish I had a friend like that! The friendship between Kelly, her husband Sean and son Arnold, and Cat is just brilliant.
This is a very funny book as well as heartwarming. Cat is a flawed but loveable character. She has a strained relationship with her father and her childhood haunts her, skewing her decisions. Her developing romantic feelings for Harvey are constrained by her mixed emotions for Sam and the fact that she never got over him leaving. Meanwhile, her boss Nick offers her a chance to relocate to New York and she needs to figure out where her heart lies quickly to prevent herself getting hurt again.
If you are looking for love and laughs then look no further!

I thought this book was just all right. It seemed to follow a formula with a plot that did not seem all that surprising. I would still read books by this author as any writer can have a not-so-great effort. Thank you for the opportunity.

Cat seems to have everything until the day she doesn't. She leaves stand up comedy, takes a dull job and her boyfriend leaves the country and does not invite her along. She flatshares with some out there characters who add to the story. I enjoyed watching Cat navigate through struggles just about any body could be going through. This was a fun easy read and I really enjoyed it!

Cat is a former stand up comedian working in an accounts job she doesn’t really like, living in a flat she hates with nightmareish housemates and is single with no hint of a relationship or even a one nighter on the horizon. That is until the cute brother of the ex-boyfriend who left her turns up in John Lewis at Christmas time.

I really really enjoyed this book. It was a quick paced yet funny read with realistic problems and realistic relationships. Whilst I know the focus was on Cat basically trying her hardest not to do the unmentionable with her ex’s brother, I really adored the relationship between Cat and her best friend Kelly especially with Kelly’s pregnancy. It felt real and honest with Kelly not being afraid to let Cat know a thing or two about the real world.

London at Christmas time is glorious so I am a sucker for that setting.

Cat felt real and honest and flawed which I like in a book. She wasn’t perfect she knew this, her friends knew this but loved her all the same.

The only criticism I have and it is a bit pick is that I would have like more of Cat’s stand up to be explored. It was insinuated that she was good but we hardly saw it.

Other than that I would highly recommend this book for anyone looking for a feel good rom com.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookoture for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

At first, i didnt like much The main female character. She was in a really Bad Place at The beggining of The Book... She was lonely, lost, scared and boring. She was stucked in The past and thinking about what ifs, but She grew so much as The Book progressed that i ended up really liking her.

She was thinking about her ex, Who left her, Just like her das and that was awful for her. She couldnt moved on cause She thought She was The problem. For years She was like that. But when her ex comes back, She start realizing that She wasnt Who She thought he was, and that her ex wasnt either.

Enter The hero Who helps her a lot to find herself again, and not Just in The love sense, but in The life sense. She was funny, She was worth It, She could do things, She could have a beautiful life, She Just needed good People by her Side.

It was my first Book by this author, im pretty sure it wont be my Last.
