Switched at Birth by Christine Rimmer is the 4th book in the Bravo's at Vantine Bay Series. This book was amazing. I loved Madison. She was absolutely amazing. I loved how even as an actress she still played with the children next door. This was an awesome read.

I enjoyed this story a whole lot more than I expected! It started off a bit slow and I resigned myself to slogging through the story for the sake of the review. But I was WRONG! The story had well-written and executed development between the characters, with real-life concerns. This is one I will likely read a second time. Great story! 4 stars (would have given it 5 stars if the beginning was more compelling).

This is first novel I've read by Christine Rimmer and I enjoyed it so much. It was fun to see the life of a movie star and how that is impacted by discovering such a big secret. I liked the interaction between the characters and I am looking forward to reading the other books in this series

Valentine Bay, Oregon

In Bel Air, California, famous actor Madison Delaney celebrates her twenty-seventh birthday alone. Alone, that is, until she receives a visit from billionaire Jonas Bravo. He gives her some shattering information. She is not who she thinks she is. She isn’t the only child of Lloyd and Paula Delaney, but the biological daughter of Martin and Marie Bravo. She was switched at birth at Wild River Ranch in Oregon. Madison recognizes it as the place her parents told her she was born. Aislinn Bravo is Paula’s real daughter, but Lloyd was not her father. Hiding this truth led to Aislinn’s biological father switching the babies. He wrote a letter of confession before he died. Both sets of parents are also now deceased. Jonas gives her a memory stick with photographs, names and phone numbers of all her relatives in Valentine Bay. It is up to her if she wants to contact them or not.
Pictures show her how she shares a strong family resemblance with her Bravo sisters. While Madison isn’t sure if she wants to contact any of the Bravos, a week later she rents an ocean-side cottage in Valentine Bay. She has one of her security men with her, and when outside dresses to prevent anyone from recognizing her and to hopefully thwart any paparazzi learning of her location. Madison has not yet decided to contact any Bravo family member. Immediately she is attracted to the man next door who rented her the cottage. He, of course, knows who she is. On her birthday she decided losing her virginity would be one of her goals for the year. Now this handsome, well-made man is in her sights.

Sten Larson lives with his sister, Karin, and their father, Otto. Karin’s husband died three years ago leaving Karin to raise her son Ben and daughter Coco. Coco recognizes the new cottage tenant as her favorite princess from a Disney film. When Madison rented the cottage, she stated she wanted her privacy and had Sten sign a non-disclosure agreement, so he draws Coco away from the beautiful and personable star warning Coco that she cannot tell anyone what she knows. Yet Madison seems to enjoy Coco’s adoration and seems very interested in him, too. After a disastrous relationship with a woman who used him, Sten remains wary of Madison’s magnetism. Why would so famous a woman desire him? He knows she will eventually return to California, and he will not chance having his heart broken again.

Madison and Sten are fascinating characters dealing with emotional situations and their dramatically different careers. The story also gives interesting insights into what a well-known star’s life might be like. Madison’s films give her public fame and Sten doesn’t think she would give her career up for him. The distance between them on a social scale is vast and maybe insurmountable. It doesn’t seem possible that they could ever remain together, and if they did, who would need to give up what for it to happen? It is a fast read about family ties, and Madison and Sten discovering the person they want to be.

If you have been following this series, you know Aislinn Bravo was switched at birth.
The Bravo family has been trying desperately to contact actress Madison Delaney, the other child involved.
When they reach out to Jonas and he is able to contact her, she debates connecting, but is leery.
A trip to Valentine Bay not only connects her with her family, but she finds the love of her life.
Sten Larson has been burnt before and is afraid to take a chance. He tries to fight his feelings and the opinion of friends and family, but realizes Madison is the right one and decides to take a chance.
Written with humor, romance and sensuality, this tale is a must read for Bravo followers.
I requested and received a NetGalley Arc to peruse.

Madison Delaney is dealing with shocking news. She was switched at birth and the parents who raised her weren’t her birth parents. She has a large extended family she knew nothing about, until now. She decides to take a break from her successful movie career to come to grips with the news. She meets Sten Larson and they connect, but Sten has trouble trusting in a relationship.

This is a read that delivers everything you expect to find in a romance book. It kept me entertained to the end. If you are looking for a light romance to pass the time this is for you. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

Switched at Birth
by Christine Rimmer
A very different buy buy buy book.

While I cannot say this book fulfilled all of my wishes, I can say it was a very good read. It has a plot line that is different, Characters that are likable and the way the story flows is good. I could of wished for a stronger heroine in some ways , but in others she was perfect. I loved the hero. He was a dream. I enjoyed the book due to the fact the plot line was not of the normal everyday variety. It has so many different layers of emotion and actions through out this entire story it made it captivating to me. The writer is truly talented in bringing the readers imagination to life. You need to buy this one and clear your mind and just sit and enjoy a very different book. While I received the ARC via NetGalley, all opinions written here are my own and totally voluntary.
