I truly loved this book! Relished every page and hated for it to end. Minka Kent did a marvelous job of describing girls that came from a primitive background with no electricity as contrasted with Nicollette's world where money makes everything easy and convenient. Would love to see a sequel!

I really, really loved this book! Actually, it just might be one of new favorites! I have read a couple of Minka Kent's other books and i enjoyed them, but this one was a little different, though in a good way. I would definitely recommend it to other readers.

This book has bits that you will never guess and will make your head spin.

Wow! I loved this book and devoured it in one day. Excellent storytelling, good writing, and a plot that did not disappoint. Highly recommend!

One of the best books I have ever read!! I could not put it down. A great book about a mom and her 3 girls who are living off the grid. One night the youngest daughter turns violently I'll and the mother decides to seek help for her youngest daughter leaving her 2 oldest daughters to fend for themselves. After months of the mom being gone and some twists and turns later this story will leave you completely dumbfounded on how it turns out! What a wonderful yet crazy book!! I can not wait to read more of this author's books!!

This was an intriguing psychological thriller. The author really sucked me in from the first page, and I couldn’t put it down.

The Stillwater Girls was my first ARC read and my first book by Minka Kent. I enjoyed the fast pace of this book and the parallel story lines kept me intrigued and guessing throughout the book.

Kent's writing style is engaging and addictive and I read the whole book in less than a day. I did feel however that the end was perhaps a bit rushed and everything came together just too nicely for my liking.

This was a 3.5 star read for me and I will look out for some of Kent's earlier work.

The Stillwater Girls began with me assuming it might be a period piece that jumped back and forth from that time to present day. Soon it was clear that wasn’t the case. The plot read clearly and smoothly, with intrigue and a need to know what happened and what was happening that it was hard to put down. I have read other books like this where the resolution came very quickly at the end, just to wrap it up, but the pacing of The Stillwater Girls was excellent. I would highly recommend this book!

I have been an absolute huge fan of Minka Kent since I turned that last page of The Memory Watcher. I remember thinking.... have I been living under a rock this entire time not knowing anything about this author named Minka?!

I absolutely loved Minka's first two books The Memory Watcher and The Perfect Roommate. The third book I was disappointed and was hoping that I would fall back in love with her books upon reading The Stillwater Girls. Unfortunately, as much as it pains me to say that I was also left disappointed in reading this one.

Let me start out by discussing what I loved about this book. Minka has such a way with grabbing her readers in on the first page. Her writing is addicting, engaging, and mysterious. I was intrigued by this story from the first chapter up until the end. There was no slow pacing, lagging, or being bored whatsoever in this one my friends.

I finished this book in a little over a day... like I usually do with all of Minka's books. But, my issues with this is that I feel it failed to deliver upon the ending. I felt it was a tad predictable in where the story was going due to not having many characters in this one. I also had issues believing some of what was revealed with the girls/main characters. I will not go into detail of the plot.. because it's too hard to discuss without having spoilers.

I absolutely miss the jaw dropping twists that Minka had in her first two novels. I feel that she has failed to have those twists and turns in her last two books. Is her writing absolutely addicting to the max? Hell yes!

Overall, this was entertaining and am glad that I was able to read another book from Minka! I will continue to be a huge fan of hers and will always grab her books! I'm hoping that she has a book soon that delivers those twists, addictions, and mysteries that I long for! ;).

3.5 stars for this one.

I must say, this book was as good as it sounded, which isn’t always the case!
Sisters Wren and Sage have been left alone in a cabin for months, after their mother and little sister set out in search of medicine. They have never been out in the world, as they have been told what a dangerous and lawless place it is. But when a stranger finds them, apparently looking for their mother, they believe they will be killed if they don’t run.
In the same small town, married couple Nicolette and Brant have the perfect life on the outside, ut Nicolette suspects something is going on with Brent, and begins to dig to see what it may be.
These separate lives come together in a mysterious way. While it was fairly easy to see what may have happened early in the plot line, the reasons for what happened are not revealed until the page turning end.

Wren and her sisters have grown up in a cabin far away from civilization and even other people in remote upstate New York, warned that the outside world is dangerous and terrible and to be avoided at all costs. Then Wren’s little sister becomes dangerously ill, and their mother leaves to find help with the child. When they don’t return, the remaining two sisters do their best to survive, even as they run low on food and supplies. Winter is approaching when a man shows up, he tells the girls he’s looking for their mother and refuses to leave without them. Forced to go against a lifetime of rules the girls leave their home, going beyond the familiar borders of their homestead and stumble across the truth that has been hidden from them their entire lives. This book cast a spell over me, I could see the cabin and the woods so clearly in my mind, Kent is a master at creating memorable characters and settings

I really enjoyed this book. It was complicated but also simple. The author writes in a very enjoyable style. Her character development was great. I felt that I had a great sense of each person in the book. It was also a very interesting premise to have 3 daughters living off the grid with their Mom basically like a family from the 1800’s.
Also it was interesting to consider someone today living with no modern appliances at all, no power with no look into the modern world.
I read this book in one day. It kept me entranced the entire time. I really enjoyed it so much.
You will love it!
