This book was OK - not much suspense because it was obvious early in the book who committed the murder and why.

I enjoyed this story, I liked the characters; the plot was good also. I stayed interested until the very end. While I wanted to yell at Joshua a million times, I would recommend this. A good amount of suspense and I enjoyed the writing style.

I would like to thank NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to Getred PR for gifting me a copy in exchange of an honest review. All Opinions are my own.

I rate this book a 3 out of 5 Stars.

I love David Bell, and I have always been a huge advocate for his books. I do think plenty of readers are going to enjoy this one. This is not typically a type of Plot that I am crazy about, it was too Action/Tech/Suspense for me. I am more of a fan of his Thrillers, missing kids, missing moms etc. But with that being said, I still really enjoyed his writing style, and I love the pace at which he writes his books. They always seem to read quickly, even if they are 400+ Pages.

I do want to add, I loved the way he ended this book, I felt it was going to be the typical ending to this kind of plot, But he surprised me, and I loved it!

This book is out July 2nd. I will include the Goodreads link below, so you can Pre-Order from your favorite retailer.

Enjoyable and a strong start in the beginning. As it continued, still kept my interest, but then I started skipping some chapters to see if I could get back into the groove. Enjoyed the end and the surprises of the book - just went it moved a little more smoothly

Joshua meets Morgan in an airport and they have drinks at a restaurant. She kisses him goodbye and says they will never see each other again. After she leaves, Joshua sees her face on a local channel and that she is missing. Meanwhile a detective in Kentucky is searching for 2 missing people. Joshua begins searching for Morgan and gets more involved in the case. I was curious why Morgan was fleeing from her life.

Joshua spends his life in the air and airports working for his father all over the country, in spite of his aversion to flying. On an Atlanta layover, he has a chance encounter with Morgan, first at a news stand and then at a restaurant, where they kiss. She stays on his mind after they go their separate ways, and he is surprised to see her face on tv, described as a missing person. The rest of this thriller describes Joshua's journey to find her again. And again and again, as she moves out of his reach and disappears in spite of his best efforts. There is certainly suspense as we try to figure out why she is so determined not to be found in spite of her obvious attraction to Joshua. Ultimately, though, Joshua's motivation seemed flimsy, and it was unbelievable to me that he would persevere in the face of many personal and practical odds to track down a woman who wanted to elude him. Romantic though.

You know what I really liked about this book? Actually I liked quite a few things. First of all, David Bell is a great writer. His characterizations are excellent, I felt like I really knew Joshua, Morgan, and the determined and persistently hungry Detective Givens.

**Small aside: I think her hunger was supposed demonstrate how dedicated she was to her job, self-sacrificing, etc. But too often when the POV switched back to her it led off with her gnawing hunger, as if it's noble to be starving. Eat a sammich and just stop.

Okay, anyway, I also loved that this doesn't get wrapped up in a lovely package. Much like in real life things are complicated, emotional and can feel unfinished. I respect the opinion of anyone who felt the end fizzled but I don't share your opinion, for me, it worked.

I loved that I felt hopeful, frustrated, disappointed and charmed in spots. Sometimes I wanted to throttle Joshua, far more often Morgan but overall...I felt.

Thank you to David Bell, Berkley Publishing Group Berkley and NetGalley for giving me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I've read another book by David Bell and liked his writing style. This book grabbed my attention from the start. I thought it was a clever premise...two strangers meet by chance in an airport and are intrigued with one another but all is not what it seems.

The first part of the book was good and I was fully engaged trying to figure out what was going on. It dragged a bit in the middle and I was not very satisfied by the ending. I expected something surprising. I think David Bell is a talented writer but I don't think this is one of his best books.

I'd like to thank Berkley Publishing Group and NetGalley for granting me the opportunity to read this Advanced Reader Copy.

This will be the third book I’ve read by this author, and the second I just didn’t really enjoy. I felt like everything that happened was unnecessary. The writing is great, but the plot is not good.

It all started during a layover at the airport. He meets a pretty lady and wants to get to know her better but she won't tell him anything and keeps sneaking off. He's supposed to be going on to a job but his dad is there at the meeting and he wants to find his elusive girl...

Berkley and Net Galley let me read this book for review (thank you), It will be published July 2nd.

As he follows her and finds her here and there, he knows she's in trouble but she won't tell him what kind. When he finally gets her to talk, he thinks it's the theft of a ring that has caused all the trouble. It's more than that...

This starts as two different stories: a police investigation and his search for his mysterious girl. As you keep reading, the two stories merge into one.

This story is suspenseful and full of tension as the brother of the missing man gets involved. He's a violent man.

It's not until the end that you get the full story and it's complex and sad. There were reasons for what happened but it doesn't make it better.

This author always holds my attention when I start reading his books. He writes well.

This novel evoked many emotions from me as I read it. It was suspenseful and full of tension. I would get angry with the main character, Joshua, wanting him to just walk away from the chaos caused by his meeting Morgan. I kept reading to find out what exactly Morgan had done. I liked the ending very much; it had verisimilitude. I give it 3 1/2 stars.
I received an Advance Review Copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

I have read two other books by this author and loved them especially cemetery girl and honestly I'm so glad I received this book to read it just shows that David Bell is one of my favorite authors. I got into this book from the very beginning I had to know who the mystery women was and why she acted so odd. Yes some of the middle part got a little slow but it quickly picks up. Now the ending was great I won't give spoilers but the ending was worth finding out. I highly recommend this book and author can't wait for his next book to come out.

Remind me to not make eye contact with other people at the airport! Good psychological thriller, pretty fast paced, perfect to read on the beach. Of course, I thought I had it all figured out, but like most psychological thrillers, I didn't.

I stuck it out with this book, but I just didn't like it. The storyline took too long to go anywhere, and once it did, it just wasn't worth the wait. Thank you Netgalley for the ARC ebook.

This was a fast action, roller coaster of a thriller that I read in two days. The excellent character development coupled with the constant changing plot line kept me turning the pages long after I should have turned out the light. This is the second David Bell novel I've read - after Somebody's Daughter last year. He doesn't disappoint. I'm looking forward to reading more.

Joshua travels work. He flies out of airports constantly. On a layover, he meets Morgan and his world is turned upside down! Morgan leaves Joshua with a passionate kiss in the airport bar and Joshua knows he must find her again! What happens next is full of twists and turns and keeps you on the edge of your seat! This was a great a thriller of a book! I received an advanced readers copy and all opinions are my own.

Fantastic read!!!! The story starts out at the airport where the main character Joshua meets a mysterious girl Morgan (who happens to kind of be on the run), and shares a drink, some deep conversation, and an intense kiss that scrambles his brains enough to make him change his travel itinerary to pursue her. He follows and tracks Morgan down in Nashville and Kentucky, where her “mystery” starts to unravel when it turns out she was recently reported as a missing person. The plot thickens when another missing person has been reported in a nearby town and is possibly linked to her, and she disappears again and again. This book has a lot of changes of direction, and that’s what makes it such a fun and unpredictable ride.

Having read and loved other books by this author, I was expecting more. There are a few twists but they were easy to figure out. This was such an improbable situation that the story was not believable. This was just an okay book to me.

Bell is one of those writers that was born to write thrillers, because his writing makes sure to hook you from page one and keep you up late; with a desperate need to find out more. The way he breaks his books chapters up, is pure genius, because it makes the reader knowing they are going to be plowing through paces, since there’s not many chapters you can easily stop on! My second Bell book, but definitely not my last! I love the thrills, chills, and twists & turns you get in this book! The little cliffhangers on each chapter make the reading of the book go by so quickly! A must read for my fellow thriller and Bell lovers!
Will be highly recommending to the members of Chapter Chatter Pub!!

This book promised to be “a high concept psychological suspense thriller” but instead I found a completely unbelievable story.

After an extremely brief encounter, our hero begins to fixate on a woman he saw in an airport gift shop. Not only did she not say thank you after he picked up the phone she dropped, she was also wearing a hat and sunglasses. Goodness—that does make her mysterious! But wait, they run into each other outside the bathrooms and decide to go for a drink. After a couple of drinks and chit-chat, she kisses him, says they’ll never meet again, and leaves to catch her plane. Our intrepid hero then decides the thing to do is forget about his plans, buy a first class ticket for the plane his mystery woman may or may not be on, and fly from Atlanta to Nashville. Are you kidding me?!? His actions only become more implausible as the story continues. What kind of person does these things?? Not one I want to read about!

There were a few chapters about a female cop every once in awhile that were interesting, but honestly, our dumb-bunny hero was making this book too much of a chore to read. By 30% I simply could not handle any more of his idiotic decisions and had to quit reading.
