So this book follows 13 year old Brianna and her friends, Sean and Robert, as they find remains in their neighbors yard and investigate what happened by themselves before the police get involved. I love true crime books and reading about murder mysteries and in that regard this book is pretty good. The only problem I really had with this book was the character development. The bonds and the relationships that the kids had seemed to be lacking and I wish I would have had more of that.

Couldn't catch my attention, as much as I wanted it to. When you write horror, you've got to stand out from the mold, and unfortunately Kasten just blended in.

Very dissapointed on this book. I was expecting more out of this book. It started good and then it slowdown making it so boring. Sean was a bully, Brianna and Robert were just dumb. I couldn't decide if the kids were brave or simply stupid. I leaned more towards stupid. I feel like I wasted my time reading this hoping something better was going to happen. The ending was dissapointing as well. 😓😓😓

I was sent an e arc for netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This started off really strong. I was living the story but unfortunately it went steadily downhill. Really good idea but wasn’t satisfied with the ending

What happens when teens in a small town come across a dead body?Who was the one that killed them? Why were they killed and will there be more deaths. Will the police find the answers or will some one get away with murder. Thank you NetGalley.

The book started off good, when 3 friends find a body while planning to get revenge on a neighbor they have to figure out what to do. Then the book starts to go really slow and loses its pace. The way that Sean would treat his friends when they didn't want to do what he wanted was sad. Also I am not sure how they went so long without telling someone there was a body found, that is something that being a 13 year old kid you would have to tell someone. It would be hard to hold that in for so long. The friendship between the three characters was a weird one, especially when Sean's father stepped into the scene every now and then. I liked how they wanted to solve the crime but Sean was a big bully when it came to find answers and it would point to something he didn't like. I felt that the other tasks that the kids were doing kept taking away from the main story line. There is so much more that bothered me that it is really hard for me write it down and pinpoint it.

Another weird thing that bothered me was when Sean's father demanded that the kids were going to talk at a funeral. Not sure what right he had to demand they were to speak but that bothered me.

Another thing when the cops were talking to Brianna and Robert shouldn't they have talked to them with their parents present as they were minors? Especially with a body being uncovered?

Now the end was not what I was expecting and that was a neat surprise.

This book was a tad of a disappiontmetn for me. It was painfully slow at times. I'm sure others would enjoy it, but i just couldn't stick with it.

Brianna and her friends are messing around one day when they discover human remains at the bottom of a neighbour’s yard.
Story focuses on their investigation. Not entirely sure it is satisfactorily resolved, but it reminded me of movies/TV shows.
I felt this had some interesting ideas. Hints of the relationships between characters was a way of keeping us engaged, but I felt I needed more on each of them.
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this in exchange for my thoughts.

This was a very fast read for me but it was painfully slow. The story line was good but I also felt like the pace could’ve been better. It almost felt dragged out. I got bored easily and had to go back to remember the details when they were finally addressed. It just felt like a dull read to me.

When three young kids come across a body near their house and decide not to tell anyone about it things can only get worse. Brianna is the sensible one amongst them but being the only girl she goes along with what want. One of the kids parents is having an affair with their neighbour Rick that they suspect is the murderer so they try and solve it themsevles without it getting out infear of his dad finding out about the affair. It turns out that Rick's former wife has gone missing so they know it her body out there. Did Rick kill her or did his dad find out about their affair or did his mum kill her as she saw her as a rival. These are all questions that need to be solved before the body is found.
This was a great book and kept me wanting to read on.

Three friends, Brianna, Sean, and Robert, happen across a body buried in their neighborhood.

Because a police investigation might reveal that the trio is connected to a stolen motor and that Sean’s mother was having a relationship a neighbor, the friends decide they must solve the apparent murder before contacting authorities.
