Filled with quips of hilarity and wit. Wade and CC take the the long build up to a relationship. There are great characters in the story that add extra layers of flair and depth to the plot. Looking at romance from the perspective of the different generations was interesting and sometimes funny. Both CC and Wade had to learn a lot about who they were and what they wanted before they could see that what they needed was each other.

I have been on a roll lately, finding some excellent romances that have interesting characters and well thought-out plots. Nothing But Trouble is the latest that fits the bill. Wade is a former pro quarterback; CC has been his PA for the past five+ years. It’s a trope that has been used many times (the boss finally realizes feelings for employee), but this story seemed different to me. One thing that made this book stand out is that the romance doesn’t take center stage; it almost occurs in the background as other events occur – I loved this aspect because it allowed me to get involved with the plot and other characters, which made the story more interesting. I especially enjoyed the plan for Wade's hometown. The counterpoint sub-story of Wade’s brother Wyatt was well done and touching. All motivations and character actions seemed natural, and the events were enjoyable to read. I highly recommend this book. Please see my blog at firefliesandfreekicks.com for a more detailed review. 4 Star Review Nothing But Trouble (Credence, Colorado #1) by Amy Andrews

Amy Andrews is a new author to me and I have to ask myself why that is. Cecilia Morgan’s life has been totally focused on the man she works for, former NFL quarterback Wade Carter.

However one can only work for someone for so long and when CC finally hands in her notice he is shocked,; he cannot imagine his life without CC. However all that will have to wait as Wade is heading back to Credence due to his father’ sill health and he is determined that CC accompany him.

I love cowboys and small town romance and Nothing But Trouble certainly made for entertaining reading. It was amusing to watch Wade and CC dance around the feelings that were developing between them. The secondary characters were great, particularly Wade’s family, and I am looking forward to reading their stories.

Thrust into life in a small town, Wade and CC soon find themselves involved in small town gossip.

There was humour and fun, little piglets and a whole lot of feel good moments in Nothing But Trouble.

I really liked CC although Wade annoyed me at first, he grew on me as the story progressed. I look forward to reading more in the series.

I received a copy through the publisher from Netgalley.

Humorous story about an ex-NFL player and his personal assistant. The interactions between Wade and CC are awesome. I smiled, chuckled, laughed out loud through the whole book. Hoping this series will continue, I'd like to see how the women coming to town change things. I also love Wade and his addiction to Nerds, one of my favorite candies!

I’m completely in love with Credence, Co and everyone who lives in this small town. Nothing But Trouble is filled with everything I adore about small town romances.

*Great secondary characters, whom I’m looking forward to reading their own stories in the near future.
*A slow-to-build chemistry between Wade and CC which builds to an all consuming inferno.
*Quick witted banter not only between the main characters, but all of the secondary characters.
*A hero that should have been filled with a giant ego, but in his hometown, he was just a regular guy. That is small town living at its best.
*A heroine so full of love and genuineness that the small town accepted her as one their own from the get go.

I could continue this list of things I love not only about small towns, but also what I love about this book, but I think you should really read about them for yourself in Nothing But Trouble.

Wade Carter is “The Catapult” of the NFL Broncos, the town’s “number one son” of Credence, Co with three SuperBowl rings in his possession. If anyone asked him, Wade has a pretty sweet life, but when he gets the news that his father’s health is failing, he’s hit in the solar plexus. Wade decides to take a vacation from everything, pack up and move back home for the summer, taking his PA, Cecelia “CC” Morgan with him, much to her argument.

CC has dedicated the last five and half years of her life to Wade Carter as his personal assistant. She’s been at his beck and call twenty-four/seven. Available to pick up Nerds for his candy obsession or condoms for his other off the field obsession. CC is looking forward to her six year contract coming to an end so she isn’t exactly thrilled to spend the next several months in the small town of Credence. Packing her bag CC finds herself living in a Gone With the Wind replica style home, nursing piglets, while scheduling busloads of women to arrive in the declining town as a promo campaign to boost the population. Her days working for Wade are never boring.

With Wade trying to finish his memoir while also helping out at his family farm, he hates the idea of strangers arriving in his hometown disturbing his quiet, peaceful place of rest. He seems to be the only one not on board with reviving the town. Not only does it take CC away from him, the town seems to have taken a shining to his PA, but something about being away from all other distractions has shifted something in him about everything in his life. Could he always have been living with blinders on?

Nothing But Trouble is fun, sweet, full of farm animals, and one hunky NFL player whom can’t help but be a bit naive in the love department even after lots of practice on the field. This is one small town romance you need to read this year!

CC and Wade are great characters who have worked together for years. Now CC is leaving and Wade realizes that she means more to him than he realized. I loved both characters and wanted to hit Wade on the side of the head so he would come to his senses. The town bringing in mew women was a nice addition to the story and set up additional romances. This was a fun read with great characters and a very interesting journey to several HEA's,

Wonderful small town romance

Amy Andrew’s Nothing But Trouble the first book in her Credence, Colorado series was a joy to read. I could not put the book down reading it from cover to cover in one day. It has everything I want in my romances. There was serious sizzle between Cecilia/CC and Wade, realistic conflicts to overcome, secondary characters that make you want to read their stories and a HEA that makes you smile. I highly recommend this book, it will put a smile in your face.
I received an advance reader copy via Netgalley.

This was a lot of fun. It starts out with us seeing retired NFL star Wade Carter through his personal assistant’s eyes. CC has been working for him for over five years and she’s counting down the minutes to when her contract is up. Wade comes across as a selfish jerk whom it’s a real pain to work for. But soon they’re going back to the small Colorado town where Wade grew up after his father has had a heart attack.

Wade starts to realize how much he depends on his PA. THen he starts to realize that he feels more for her than he ever thought he could feel for a woman. He has his own sad back-story that CC never knew about, but when we find out why he’s never formed a relationship with any of the women throwing themselves at him, he becomes a more sympathetic character than the guy who sends CC out in the middle of the night to buy him Nerds candy and condoms or to deal with his disappointed hook-ups.

Add in his unlikely hometown that is dying because young people keep moving away and that has left a town full of men and no young women for them and the story becomes even more fun.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

3.5 Stars Huge Amy Andrews fan. She has given me happy reading times. This had all the elements of humor, banter, and a HEA.
A Cocky Football Stars takes his personal assistant sort of for granted. She has worked with him for years and knows the drill. She takes no crap from him and calls him out when he needs it.
But the time has come and she gives her notice.

Unfortunately, the guy's dad has a heart attack and that changes everything. She puts off quitting and goes out to the farm in Colorado to help take care of the dad. It is there that both of them start to see each other for more than what they were before.

Very good!!! Amy Andrews brought a down on love & commitment guy & a woman from a broken home with issues surrounding love & never being enough for people together in this wonderful, sassy & sweet story. I love how this book had more than 1 storyline running through it. With health issues of his father ex-star football player Wade Carter goes home to help out on the family farm & to try to write his life story with the help of his PA Cecilia(CC). What happens next is funny, sweet & very sexy. Six yrs of foreplay is what’s been going on with CC & Wade as she managed his life & relationships & now in his hometown that is dwindling because of a shortage of eligible women, Wade comes face to face with the realization that he can’t let her go on her merry way after watching her interact with his family, friends & the animals on his family’s farm. I enjoyed reading about his friends & family, especially his almost 40 yr old brother the virgin & hope there will be more coming on them with the new infusion of women to the town. This story had me laughing out loud & sobbing as well as swooning when Wade finally woke up to the realization that he had to fight for CC & had no real clue of what that meant. Add in a loveable, clumsy puppy & cute baby piglets that CC fell in love with & you have a recipe for wonderful. Definitely recommend.

First time reading this author but I absolutely loved the characters, the settings and all the 'trouble'. The characters are likeable and believable. I'd be hard pressed to say who I liked best amongst the main characters or their quirky friends. Once I started reading it I couldn't put it down for long. Great dialogue, and is a quick and fun read. A few steamy areas and some expletives but they are well done and appropriate to these characters.
No spoilers from me, jacket cover gives adequate description.

Take the book beach side ,poolside, or your favorite place to read and enjoy!

I received this book as a complimentary copy for an honest opinion. The opinions expressed are my own.

Thank you the the author and publishers for the Advanced Reader Copy.

I love small town romances, but this one is so much more. The characters are so well developed and quirky (think Nerds candy addiction meets OCD) and the setting in Credence, CO is idyllic. I loved the Tara mansion. The romance was explosive and consuming. Great read that I couldn't put down.

this is my 4th Amy Andrews book - of the 3 i read before this one, i loved 2 and wasn't a huge fan of the other one. the difference between the ones i loved and the one i didn't like was the ones i loved were set in Oz and all Amy's australian-isms came through and i adored it. the one i didn't love had other issues, but i wasn't a huge fan that it was set in america. so when i saw this on netgalley, i immediately wanted to read it but then saw it was set in america and i hesitated. obviously i ended up requesting and reading it and overall i quite liked it.

first off, wade is seriously not likable for a large chunk of this book. i admit, i am a little over the manwhore with the heroine who isn't as experienced. CC was definitely a strong heroine, she had a great personality and a backbone. i just wish the difference between their sexual experience/history wasn't as drastic. but Wade eventually grows up and grows on the reader. but when he's unlikable, he's seriously unlikable, and that was too large a chunk of the book for me. he was just so arrogant and i know she was his PA but damn man, he really was way too reliant on her for ridiculous things that made me question his ability to adult on his own.

because i didn't like wade until like halfway, i didn't feel that connection i wanted to. when they finally get together, i felt like it wouldn't have happened without the forced proximity/moving to Credence together, and i wasn't a huge fan of that. i wanted to feel like they'd have ended up together regardless, you know? it wouldn't have hurt to have a couple hints that they were attracted/into each other beforehand. wade mentions he notices she was a woman because he's a man, but that didn't quite do it for me.

as for the trope, i haven't read a ton of this set up, but one of my favourite books is the wall of winnipeg and me. this book definitely reminded me of Winnipeg, and i bet other people will see the similarities too. that's not a bad thing. but i think this one missed the mark on 'now we are together, i'm not going to be your PA any longer, we should discuss this'. yeah, she quit and he followed her and she said she'd find him a new PA, if i remember right, but we never saw Wade actually treat her like an equal or partner vs his PA. their relationship definitely grew and matured when they were living in Credence together, i guess i still felt like he relied on her as a PA vs a partner. I don't know.

I also thought CC's comments about the pregnant lady at the beginning were kinda mean. But maybe I'm just sensitive. also, there was a 'i'm not like other women' that made me cringe just a wee bit.

i did feel like the book was a bit long, it felt slowly paced with lots of set up for future books and then the ending felt quite rushed to em.

now, all that being said, it sounds like i hated it, not at all. for some reason, i just always have more words when it comes to things i didn't love vs things i did.

i did like this one, i liked CC except for those comments, I liked Wade during the second half of the book. I liked the town, i liked all the other characters. I do think there was a bit much of all that, we could have done less and gotten more in the next book or two.

I loved the hints we were getting of Wyatt and i was all for it, all for getting his book until it becomes quite obvious he won't be getting a book - spoiler, can't tag on netgalley - because he ends up with one of the girls that comes to the town and we see a lot of their (very fast) relationship. if we were to get a book for wyatt, even a novella, it would be repeating everything we got in this book. which sucks, i would have liked a more fleshed out story for him after getting the hints in this one. i'm not mad about it, but i am a little curious, it's not often you see a secondary romance getting as much of its own page time like this one did.

it was funny at times, definitely sexy, there were some cute animals, i liked all the banter. this book does have a lot going for it and i really don't want it to sound like i hated it because i didn't.

overall liked it and will absolutely read more from this author including the next books in this series.

"Nothing But Trouble" by Amy Andrews
I loved this story. A spicy contemporary romance with a few twists... very good twists. I was gifted an ARC of this story via NetGalley. And, this is my honest opinion. I think there are a few spicy scenes.. but that is just my opinion... But do remember if you prefer not to read those scenes.. you still will have a really fun great read in your hands. Just saying, you really don't want to miss this story.

Nothing But Trouble is the first book in Amy Andrews Credence, Colorado series, and also my first read by this author. I enjoyed the storyline, the character portrayals were warm and believable, and the world building in the wonderful setting of Colorado was amazing. The secondary characters were also enjoyable, but the insta love scenario concerning one particular character was disappointing, as I had hoped he’d get his own full story at some point in the series. Overall this is a great start to a new series and I’ll definitely be waiting for book two.

Sweet lovely read. Former NLF player Wade and his PA CC are heading in his home town because of his father bad health. The three month that they plan to spend writing his memoir and helping his family will be last because CC contract will expire and she is can't wait to move to California. Everything changes, lines are crossed. Will Wade figure it out and make it alright between them? This is a multi-layer story because it doesn't write just about CC and Wade, but also about community, how tight they are in Heaven and how they want to wake it up and bring new resident especially women for their hot men. The story has also a love story from Wades older brother Wyatt. I loved the story it was sweet funny and hot. Both characters are well developed and interesting and easy to fall in love. Great read.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

What a sweet story! Something about the blurb drew me to this book and I really just wanted to read it. I love the sort of but not really enemies to lovers trope which this one seemed to be. However, I generally am not a fan of books about supposed celebrities...but I still wanted to read it. And am very happy I was able to.

This novel is set predominantly in or near small town USA. The H is an ex pro quarterback and the h is his PA, or girl Friday if you will. They have worked together for 5 years when Wade, the H, must return home to help his family. He convinces his reluctant PA, the h, CC, to go with him. Up to that point, they had gotten along amicably and Wade clearly respected and cared for CC in a distant way of professionals. After arriving in Credence, aka small town USA, things start to shift for both characters.

While overall I felt like this was such a sweet romance, there were tough topics addressed, plenty of great side characters, a bit of tension, as well as some passion so it wasn't all hearts and butterflies.

As a bonus in this book you also see Wade's brother find his HEA. And again the author completely nailed the sweet factor.

Nothing But Trouble can be read as a standalone. I did love all of the side characters so I can certainly see this series being one you would want to continue reading. It really is worth the read...such a sweet romance...as I might have mentioned before.

This was my first Amy Andrews book will certainly not be my last. There aren’t really many new story lines out there in any genre so I thought I knew what I was getting. I was hoping for a nice read and this is so much more. Amy Andrews created a funny, sweet, well written book filled with a cast of great characters that are so much fun getting to know. The two main characters are Wade and CC. Wade, a retired superstar football player is spoiled beyond belief and almost as emotionally wounded. He goes through life with CC picking up after him, using his good looks and sweet smile to get what he wants and is so used to the world doing his bidding it is a wonder he can function at all and yet you kind of adore him! CC is a very smart, determined woman with her own emotional wounds who for the last 5 1/2 years has been Wades personal assistant. She was on call 7/24 handling his each and every whim from dealing with women he was “done dating” to midnight runs for Nerds candies and condoms. She knew going in what was ahead, but with the exorbitant salary, an apartment a car along with other perks was a willing participant in continuing to infantilize Wade because she has a plan. 6 years as his PA and some savvy investments and she is moving to Southern California to buy the beach front cottage of her dreams. It is there she believes she will find peace, make friends and live a happy quiet life. With 6 months left on her contract they renegotiate the terms so she will join him in his very small home town when Wades dad has a health incident. Let the shenanigans begin! Their journey to their HEA is not shocking, but well worth the ride. The town is filled with funny, honest, nosy, annoying, riotous, caring in your face people who you just want to know more about! I cannot wait until the next in the series is available.

Amy Andrews was new for me - so I was very happy to read her first book of the new Credence, Colorado series. Sometimes I wish the story was a little tighter. There were a lot of side scenes and second storylines. I prefer it when the story of one couple is told per book.
Apart from that it was a fresh and well told book and I enjoyed it very much. The people who were introduced to us in this book were all very likeable and lovable - and I am looking forward to accompanying them in the other books.
