Another so so so late review, but God I loved this graphic novel. Still do. I read it at least once a year, especially at Halloween.

Fans of Rainbow Rowell will not be disappointed with her new graphic novel. From the short excerpt, I was already invested in Deja and Josiah, two best friends who have worked at the pumpkin patch for the last three years. Set in Omaha, Nebraska, this sweet, wholesome story has everything for a YA rom-com - adventure, humor, romance, meddling from a well-intended best friend. The full-color illustrations are fabulous, and the characters are quite lovable, especially Deja. I can't wait to find out what happens with "Fudge Girl."

Really cute, fun and accessible! My students love graphic novels and this one is perfect for the age group that borrows them most frequently - students age 11-14. The romance element makes it relevant without being inappropriate for the age group. It's not quite as developed a love story as I would expect from Rainbow Rowell, but i recognise that the format is fairly limiting!

Super fast and easy read! It makes me want to go out to a pumpkin patch and just live there.

Josiah and Deja have their last season of working at the local pumpkin patch. Josiah wants to mop around about it but Deja wants to make this last one count. She wants to see all there is to see at the patch and see if she can get Josiah talking to the cute girl that he has been crushing on for 3 years.

It is a great story about transitioning from high school to new adulthood and all the nostalgia that comes with it.

The characters are super cute but still relatable.

Highly recommend to anyone who wants a light, fluffy reading.

Halloween in my season. The smells, the colors, the foods. I have friendships solely based on our love of the Halloween season, so when I saw this title of this book, I thought it was about me, and it was. Pumpkinheads was a cute romance revolving around the last night at a pumpkin patch, which ends up being full of adventure. The graphic novel itself totally captures the essence of October with it's color palette and description of foods. I will say the only thing that kind of threw me was that Josiah looked quite a bit older than Deja. He just seemed to be drawn a little more manly than I think his intended age was and little bit more Lurch than love interest. Maybe it's a Midwest thing? I don't know.

Overall, this is my third Rainbow Rowell book and I enjoyed the change of medium for Rowell.

This has quickly become one of my favorite graphic novels and I can see myself reading it every fall season! Love that the whole story takes place in a fall attraction complete with pumpkin patches, corn mazes, and so many other fall favorites. Cut, quick fun read with two great main characters and their friendship too! Fun quick read full of autumn vibes.

In Rainbow Rowell’s first graphic novel, Josiah and Deja are seniors in high school working their final shift at the local pumpkin patch, since next year they’ll be off at college. They’ve worked together at the Succotash Hut since they first started, and haven’t taken the time to actually experience the rest of the patch. So, for their last hurrah, they go on a pretty epic adventure!

This was such a fun fall read! I loved all of the little details throughout…there are copious fudge puns, a John Denver cover band, and an angry goat on the loose. The art is gorgeous and it really makes you feel like you’re at the pumpkin patch with the characters. The two main characters are fleshed out really well and the friendship between Josiah and Deja seems realistic. I love that you get to experience their friendship after they’ve known each other for a few years when things are comfortable. It adds to the cozy feel of the book overall. I think the pacing is fantastic, and the frantic energy of their adventure is tangible. The ending was perhaps a bit predictable, but it was definitely still satisfying. Between this book and the current autumn weather, I am now in the mood to drink some hot apple cider and put up fall decorations. I also wish this pumpkin patch were a real place because it’s basically the Disneyland of pumpkin patches. Alas, if I want to eat a Pumpkin Bomb, I’ll just have to make it myself.

This is just a quick, cute, fun read that will give you autumnal vibes whenever you pick it up!

Such a charming coming of age story about two friends and their evolving relationship as they move from childhood to adulthood with their last fall in high school. This book feels like a warm pumpkin spice latte on a cool October day. It's funny, charming, and made me remember those days on the cusp of such a big life change.

Beautifully fun story about two friends who work at a pumpkin patch. This book is a cute and fun teen romance that has exquisite artwork. Love the relationship between Josiah and Deja and their "missed connections" throughout the story. Excellent ending.

A really cute read that is perfect for fall! Deja and Josie are seasonal best work friends at the Patch (a fall-themed attraction). It's their last year before college and Josie's last chance to take his shot with the girl he's been crushing on for the last four years. Deja vows to get him his chance, setting them off on an adventure through the Patch to get the girl.

But sometimes the journey is better than the destination.

A great, diverse read for all readers and perfect to get you in a cozy fall mood.
