The ARC was for the first 18 pages and it was a nice way to introduce the story. The friendship between Deja and Josiah looks so adorable and supportive. The art is so great! I love the cozy autumnal setting of a pumpkin patch, approaching Halloween. I'm invested and want to read more.

A cute start to this story - I was expecting more than just a sampler, though. The first 18 pages don't set up the backstory described in the blurb, so it will be interesting to see how that plays out.

The premise of the graphic novel Pumpkinheads is very appealing. Two teenagers saying goodbye to their job in the pumpkin patch after working there each fall of high school. Will they make it the best fall yet or do the same they've done each year. I was only given a sample to read, but enjoyed what I did read.

Really like the art. A line or two made me smile, but I can't really say the story has grabbed me much within the first 18 pages.

I enjoyed this snippet of the graphic novel. I think that this has a promising start. I will say that the listing for this request seemed like I would be receiving the full edition so it was disappointing to see that it was not. I look forward to hopefully reading the full work one day. I cannot really review just a two chapter sampler.

This delightful graphic novel follows Josiah and Deja as they finish up their final season working at the local pumpkin patch before they go to college. Deja makes it her mission to get Josiah to talk to his longtime crush, the girl who works at the fudge stand, as well as have the best time possible before it's all over.
This excerpt is well written and the illustrations are so cute and colorful. I was pulled into the story, and I can't wait to read more. I'm definitely going to get a copy when this book releases!

This preview just gave me a taste of what the whole graphic novel will hold, and I cannot wait to buy it!

I really enjoyed the short section of Pumpkinheads provided by NetGalley. I will definitely be buying the full graphic novel for my library. The artwork is beautifully colorful and feels like autumn. The selection of the story feels just like a Rainbow Rowell novel and the little bit we get to see of the characters makes me excited to see how they develop over the story. I can't wait to read the whole thing.

I have enjoyed a previous Rainbow Rowell book before and know my teens love her work, so I figured I would pick it up to read quickly. Even though this was just a sampler (such a tease, by the way), I was hooked by the end. I understood the characters pretty quickly, LOVED the setting of the Pumpkin Patch, and couldn't get enough of the coloring. I don't necessarily have an accurate feeling for how much I will like the whole book, but I know it will be something that I purchase multiple copies of for my library system.

Rainbow Rowell is one of my very favorite authors (I own over a dozen copies of Carry On; it's a problem), so having the opportunity to check out the first 18 pages of Pumpkinheads, her collaboration with Faith Erin Hicks, was a delight and a joy.

In just a short time, I'm already invested in the characters and the plot. Is Josiah going to get fudge girl? Does Deja have her own love interest/plot line? How on earth is this pumpkin patch so awesome and how do I go to there? Such a small preview, but it already has so much heart (not that I expected anything different from these two creators!).

*I received a free e-arc preview (14 pages) of this from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.*

😱 This is super cute so far! Living somewhere that has pumpkin patches set up like the one in this GN makes it easy to see Josiah and Deja as a couple of local teens working the patch every fall.
And the graphics in this are GORGEOUS! 😍

I will definitely be ordering this for our library and can’t wait to read the rest of it!

The first 18 pages were fun to read with the colorful panels and easy banter between the best friends. I am looking forward to reading the rest. My opinions and reviews are my own.

Great story by Rainbow Rowell. It is definately a ya book but throughly enjoyed reading it. My only regret is that it isn't the entire book but only a part. I guess that I will have to wait to finish the story.

This was an interesting start to a new story. I was sad to realize that it wasn't the whole comic but rather just an excerpt. So far, it hasn't caught my interest enough to actually go out and buy it but I will get it from my library when it is published.

This was just a sample of the final book (a measly 16 pages), but it starts off with a super cute (straight) romance— just as any Rainbow Rowell fan knows to expect. It has the promise of being a fun read, just as Fangirl, Eleanor and Park, and Carry On are.

Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for providing me with an ARC of this title.

I didn't realize that this ARC was only the first 18 pages! What am I supposed to do with these characters in my head for another couple of months? I am super invested the art and the friendship between Josiah and Deja drew me in so quickly! As a true fall-fan I can't wait to read this whole thing! We've had enough romances set at summer camps and tree farms I'm HERE for this being set at a pumpkin farm!

Cute. I enjoyed the illustrations and the story was fun. The sample has me intrigued and I will read the full version upon publication.

Looks like a great title. It’s colorful and fun. The text bubbles can be read clearly and the story seems interesting so far! This is a total tease for more.

Chapter one / sampler is definitely a great hook into the rest of the story. The scene, timescale, two main characters and hints towards the action are all beautifully set up by author and illustrator. I don't often read graphic novels, but I do love Rowell's work so I will make a point of trying to read the remainder. Halloween is very American for a UK reader, but the situation (two best friends running out of time before they leave for college) is very familiar, so it can transition. It's great to see a non-white main character, and also to see a genuine friendship between a boy and a girl. I'm dying to know what happens with Fudge Shop Girl. Will Josiah have the guts to ask her out? Is she really worth it? Will she reciprocate his feelings? What a good friends Deja is, setting him up. "I'm your friend. And friends don't let friends live small lives."

This was a sample of the beginning of the graphic novel. Although I have enjoyed all the other books by Rainbow Rowell, I am not sure that the first couple chapters have drawn my attention enough for me to want to keep reading it. There is good representation and the friendship seems like it has potential.
