The preview consisted of only the first few pages. The art is cute and appealing, and Rowell's writing style is playful, as usual. I can't wait to read the rest!

While this was only an excerpt (received thanks to NetGalley) I still think this will be an endearing and funny read that will connect with a lot of teens. The graphics are bright and bold and the first 16 pages left me wanting to read more! I can't speak to the content of the rest of the book but it seems like it'll be a sweet story with some adventure thrown in the mix. My students are loving graphic novels these days and I think this one may be a good fit for my older elementary students.

Since this was a short preview, I can't review it fully, but the illustrations were wonderful and the story seems very cute.

I love any book that centers on the last _____ before friends go their separate ways for college, new jobs, a move, etc. Pumpkinheads focuses on best buddies Josiah and Deja's last night of the season (also the last season before they go off to college) working at the Pumpkin Patch. Deja has cleverly rearranged a few shifts to create an opportunity for Josiah to talk to his crush at the Fudge Shoppe. What will happen next?? Bright autumn-colored artwork and an endearing storyline have me anxiously awaiting the publication of the full book!

This was so sweet. The short sample just made me crave more. Love the writing and am completely in love with the illustrations. Can't wait to read more about Josiah and Deja!

I love anything Rowell writes so the short sample was just enough to make me crazy! I can't wait to read the whole book. I loved the style of the artwork.

ARC provided by Netgalley.

The ARC copy I read was only the first 18 pages, which is very disappointing because I NEED TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT! I love the characters, who are super cute, and the illustrations are amazing! I can't wait until the fall to see what happens with Fudge Girl!

I was instantly hooked by this book. I was surprised and a bit frustrated when I realized the sample was only 18 pages (in a good way!). I cannot wait to read the rest of this book. I love graphic novels (as do my students). They make topics that are otherwise tricky accessible to readers. Rainbow Rowell can do no wrong in my mind. Eagerly awaiting the release of this book so I can see what happens to Deja and Josiah.

Rainbow Rowell can do no wrong with anything she does. In just 18 short pages I was hooked and excited to read more.

The story was really cute and I loved the supportive characters. Plus the diversity of the characters. Which we don’t see a lot of with graphic novels.

This is one of those books that I instantly preordered right after I finished this sneak peek.

I was only able to read 18 pages (I hope I wasn't missing anything) but I liked what I read. The graphic novel is about two friends who are about to spend their last day working together before college. On this last days Deja is going to help her friend Josiah talk to the girl of his dreams. I have a feeling we're going to be in for an adventure.

As far as a quick sampler goes (16 pages), I am ready to finish the book! Josiah is such a cute character, and I already love his best friend Deja. Rainbow Rowell can do no wrong, and the illustrations are phenomenal!!

This was only a sampler with 18 pages. Though it was adorable, I already love the characters, and it did leave me wanting more, how exactly am I supposed to rate accurately this graphic novel solely on 18 pages? I love Rainbow Rowell's work and I adore Faith Erin Hicks' art, so I'll rate a five-stars on the faith that I won't be let down by two amazing talents.

However, I'm very disappointed that I requested a full ARC and only received a teaser. I have two questions.

1. Is only the teaser being released until the publication date?
2. If a full ARC of PUMPKINHEADS is in the cards, will reviewers (already in possession of the teaser) have to request for it again?

I didn't realize this was just a preview! Seems like a fun setup. I'm looking forward to reading this story before the school year begins!

This book was painfully adorable! I can't wait to get my hands on the full copy. It's beautifully illustrated and just looks like a lot of fun. I loved seeing the diversity just in this sample without it being a focal point, and the friendship is cute. The word play is also great, and I just can't wait.

Even though this was only a preview, I love the art style and the characters so far. I cannot wait to dive into the full book when it comes out in the summer.

Ahhh!! Just an excerpt?!?!? August cannot get here fast enough! With the dynamic duo of Rainbow Rowell and Faith Erin Hicks this is sure to be a hit! I'm already more than intrigued and can't wait to see what adventures Josiah and Deja get into.

In this excerpt of Pumpkinheads, we meet Deja and Josiah, two friends working at a pumpkin patch for the last season before they leave for college.
The illustrations are great and the characters seem to be developing, something I think is harder to do in a graphic novel where there's no narration or inner monologue. I'd definitely be interested to read the rest of this story!

This is an excerpt from a graphic novel about two friends who work at a fall festival. It's their last day and Deja is trying to convince her friend Josiah to gather his courage and finally talk to the girl he's been crushing on for three years. The excerpt ends before we see any real action. I would be interested in reading more.
