Dragon-filled romantic intrigue…

Each character is a piece of the big mystery they are all trying to solve and I couldn’t wait for the continuation of V’s story. He had his sword but not all of its secrets. With Claire tempting him at every term he wanted to stay on track, figure things out. Who knew she would be the key to help him do just that…

Each book in this series takes me tantalizingly closer to the truth. The Faes, the Druids, the gypsies, the Dark and the Light, I needed a scorecard to keep track as adventures have led down many different paths with fascinating characters leading the charge. V was struggling and wasn’t sure how to solve the problem he faced – one that could lead to ruin. Claire was quietly there, offering friendship and soon, much more. They connected but it wasn’t enough, they needed it all, but the sword stood between them. V stood between them.

I really enjoyed their story – rife with love discovered and savoured. The overarching story arc moved forward as well even as I wish it would move that much faster…

There are no words for Ignite. I was very happy to finally read Vs story, it was very different than the other stories.

Another great book written by Donna Grant. I've read every book in the series and the spin off series. With each book the story gets better and better.

What a fascinating book. I was impressed by the storyline and the characters were all well written and complex. Where there are complex storylines combined with intriguing characters the reader experience is magnified tremendously. To have a book that is well written as well as entertaining is a delight. Reading is about escaping your world and entering another one. The word building was phenomenal in this book. Here I forgot about my own life and was immersed in the world created by the author. I would recommend this book.

I really want to read this whole series. This is the 15th book of a series and I really enjoyed it and was able to understand what was going on but I know it would help if I read the other books.
V had been in a deep sleep and just woke up. He is a dragon king and must find a way to win back his sword. He meets Claire and the sparks between them starts. He had vowed never to have a mate but he can't seem to get enough of Claire and she is human. He feels that she is The One though. There is a force that could destroy them and they feel their love can win. She is also keeping a couple of secrets and needs to tell him and her best friend.

Gosh!! I missed reading a couple in the series and a lot seems to have happened. What can I say about "Ignite" and the fire it ignites in this series as the Dragons fight for justice and fair for them and for humankind.

Donna Grant is a maestro at creating am imaginary world that surpasses all, giving the readers a brilliant read of paranormal, with fiery passion and fiery loyalty!

Many times it was said throughout Ignite in various ways that they were feeling "the calm before the storm" and that was the prevailing feeling of the book too. For all the explosiveness in V from Dragonfire, the lusty loner of previous books, the V here was subdued, isolating himself, and a very different V from any version of him previously encountered. Claire was at turns melancholy then bright, though not nearly as effervescent as I'd thought her in Smoldering Hunger. Both had a journey that could only be completed in finding one another. So rather than the crazy ramping up in this story, and despite the implications of the title, this was a calmer story with maybe one "dramatic" moment and quite a few surprises.

Some of those surprises were just nuggets of information that were merely surprising because they weren't expecting it. One surprise reveal was a bit lackluster and anticlimactic. Another, however, had incredible, both positive and negative, implications that were a long time coming, but absolutely unpredictable. For that bit alone I'm diving head first into the next story to see how it develops.

The quiet yet full and deep feelings during V's confessions were truly touching. Claire's vacillation from love to uncertainty was less than what I hoped for, but their connection and honesty together was full of forthright feeling and so direct that it made up for it. There was one part that was only touched on regarding the sword's connection and choice that was astonishing and I truly hope to see more on that and how it plays out. I knew when we first met Claire that her role wasn't over and even though she's a vital part of Ignite, it's the role she'll play from here on out that I'm excited for.

Okay, so I'll admit that sometimes it feels like we're getting further away from the end than closer to it and a few things are being thrown in that seem to be just to lengthen the series rather than bring answers. And I'm sure most people who've been with the series since the beginning are just wanting to get to Usaeil's downfall, the threads to be tied off, the dragons to be either brought back or checked in on, and the epic romantic details for Con and for Rhi...but with a handful of stories between now and then, some are pretty much over the whole thing at this point. I'm not one of them.

For me it's about each and every dragon king we've learned about or is new to us and how they get their mates, each and every detail that deepens the story and betrayal and healing for Rhi, each and every character that crosses over and enlarges the world connecting it all...I'm in it for everything. But yeah, I'm super anxious to get to the end too. I'm a sucker for this series and there's almost nothing that could happen that would keep me from coming back for more.

Donna Grant is an amazing author! No matter what genre she’s writing about, I’ve enjoyed her books immensely! She is a one click buy and a add TBR in my library!

As a long-time follower of this series, I feel like there is something comforting about reading this series. I enjoy the world and mythology, as well as the Scottish brogue that many of the heroes have. However, as of late, I have been beginning to wonder if it’s starting to lose its luster.

IGNITE is book fifteen in the Dark Kings series, so there have been a lot of stories and HEAs already. This book is dedicated to V and Claire and although I liked them, they haven’t truly shone to me. I’m not sure if it’s because I’ve become accustomed to Grant’s writing so much that I’m getting immune to her tricks or if the stories themselves are becoming too repetitive and similar.

I was hoping for something a bit more with this book, but never really got it. The characters were enjoyable enough, and I always like seeing all the familiar cameos from the other characters in the series. But when that happens with every book, it starts to feel like a common occurrence and as a result, doesn’t feel so special anymore.

Don’t get me wrong. It’s still a strong romance and plot, but too much of the same pattern has been happening in this series and because it’s book fifteen, I’m wondering if we will get a change sometime soon.

Nevertheless, IGNITE is a pleasant read that I think loyal fans will enjoy. I hope that with the next book in the series, Grant can step out of the box a little bit and give readers something new.

I’ve already read some of the books in this series so already have some background to the overall arc of the story. This book can be read as a stand-alone book. Grant does go through some of the overall arc in every one of her books with speed. It’s really great if it’s the first time reading the series but can become a bit much when you’ve read a few of her books.

V and Claire were the couple for this book and of course as much as V was in some sort of love hibernation the minute, he sees Claire he breaks it. Claire has had a string of bad luck on relationships but that was the end of them when she meets V. As much as I love the hot steamy sex scenes and all the passion and romance this relationship fell short for me and that the way that it was played out it was a little repetitive. With that said I still enjoyed reading it and hope that the next book would be better. Happy reading!

A lot of push and pull between V and Claire, but at least miscommunication wasn't a big plot. It relies a lot on you having a good grasp on the story, which would make sense with it being book 15, but I'm not super interested in the rest of the series.

Love, love, love!!! I couldn't put this book down. All the feels and romance! I can't wait to read it again

Finally V's story. There is something that has always intrigued me about this Dragon King who prefers to stay sleeping and not in the world. His life has not been an easy one and he struggles to fit in with the other Dragon Kings and they mates because of his desire to be alone.

In this book the author Donna Grant shows her control and use of emotions to perfection in the character of V. Showing V as a dispassionate person and as he slowly moves through his tough outer exterior to compassion and need. The reader with feel a pang in their chest as they get to know more about him and his struggles creating a deep connection with his character making this book one of my favorites.

Claire will surprise the reader as much as she delightfully surprises the Dragon Kings and their women by the end of the story. Her character is made of quiet strength and starry eyes with a dose of reality. Claire will enchant the reader with hidden feistiness,

This is a book deep in a series of adult paranormal romances that all feature strong women falling for sexy Dragon King shifters.

Vlad is a Dragon King hailing from the Carpathian Mountains. He possessed a magic sword that enabled him to open bridges to other realms--like where the remaining dragons were sent eons ago when the human population became large enough to become a threat. The sword was lost centuries before and each time Vlad goes looking for it, a catastrophic disaster occurs--like the burning of Rome and the Black Plague. He and Roman, another King recently recovered the sword buried deep in an Icelandic mountain. Unfortunately, Vlad is struggling to hear and feel the magic of his sword. It seems to be gone, and with it any connection to the lost dragons.

Claire is a dear friend and co-worker with Sophie, a mate of another Dragon King. Claire knows about the Dragon Kings, though she isn't supposed to--the Kings thought they had wiped her memories of being attacked by Dark Fae, but they had survived. Claire is a lady who's been crapped on by love. And Vlad is a super helpful around the clinic. He'd been admiring Claire for a while, but finally makes a move when he's despondent about the sword.

Things click, and escalate--because the mates are all being drawn close to Draegan. They are circling their wagons expecting an attack from Usaeil, the Queen of the Light Fae, who seems to pulling the strings of The Others against the Dragon Kings. Constantine, King of all the Kings, has inexplicably gone missing and all the Kings and their mates are on the edge of frustration. It makes for fertile ground for a bond to grow between Claire and Vlad. It's a lightning strike of love, and it brings it's own magic--an unheard of pregnancy.

This book really brings the conflict of the overarching series to a fever pitch, while introducing a new couple of fated mates. I liked both Claire and Vlad, and the twist at the end really got me thinking about the lengths Usaeil will go to to have her way...with Constantine. We seem to be nearing the climax of the series, and I'm glad to see how it's all resolving. I'm eager to read on.

These books are my guilty pleasure no matter which series they come from since they all seem to connect with each other. This installment in the Dragon kings series did not disappoint.

This novel focuses on the relationship between V and Claire and it’s as hot and steamy as ever. The plot thickens while Usaeil plots to dominate the universe and Rhi and her friends plan on taking her down but are biding their time. More information needs to be found on the Others and what forces everyone could be dealing with.

There are s9me emotional rollercoasters in this novel, especially towards the end when the reader finds out just how far the evil fairy queen will go to get what she wants and the lives she’s willing to destroy in the process.

I really enjoy this series and this could be read as a stand-alone if you want. However, background info is helpful, it just depends how involved you want to be in the series. I’m already moving on to the next one!

The Dragon Kings war continues to build and soon there will be no escaping it for anyone—not the Fae, Light or Dark, Dragon King, Warrior, or human. I have been with this amazing group of Dragon shifters since before the series began, starting back with the Dark Sword series and all the way through to this newest series, running in conjunction with the Reaper series. I have met so few authors who can take such a long running series, twists with other series, and make them all flow and work together so beautifully, but Donna Grant never fails to amaze me with that. Constantine and Rhi continue to grab our attention as they are woven through the series and we anxiously await their stories as well, but as the war builds we know that danger lurks around every corner for them most especially. V, aka Vlad, has been one of the most mysterious Kings that we have met in the series, but we have seen him more and more as his story approached. He has found his mate, though he resists her pull because he knows that know that he has found his sword he has a responsibility to his people that cannot be neglected, even if right now he can’t seem to fulfill it. Claire has been on the sidelines of the Dragon Kings series since she was rescued along with her best friend and moved with her to Dreagan, faking her amnesia while knowing all along the nature of the sexy men all around her. She has been attracted to V from the beginning, but knowing his nature, knew there could never be a chance for her to grab his attention, until quite suddenly she has it fully focused on her. As V and Claire’s friendship becomes more, V finds that his magic and connection to his sword has deepened and he has hope that he just might be able to use it after all. But friendship quickly turns into something deeper for them both, if only they will admit to their feelings and come to terms with the love and need they have for one another. Can their love truly change the shape of the future for the Dragon Kings? I loved every second of this book, laughing along with them as they enjoyed their time together as friends, and then learning to open their hearts to one another. V had to let go of a lot of his fears in order to have a chance at finding his love with Claire, but once he did there was no stopping him from claiming the woman of his dreams. He was obviously willing to do anything for both his people and his woman, including giving up his personal dreams, but it took him a very long to overcome those fears and only with Claire’s help could he do so. Claire was such a sweetheart, obviously braver than most any woman I could ever imagine. She kept the secret of the Kings for so long and so well that not even her best friends knew that she was lying about her amnesia, but her honesty and dedication to her friends make her a perfect addition to the Dreagan family. While V has been fighting his attraction and Claire has been denying hers, the heat between them is indisputable and easily recognized by even their friends. I cannot wait for the next story in this series and am dying to find out what comes next as the war heats up, though I hope the next Reaper story (Dark Alpha’s Redemption) might give me a few hints as well. The Magick just seems to flow from Donna Grant’s imagination onto the pages in a way I can only envy and continue to enjoy for year to come –I hope!

Yucky, yucky, yucky.

Immediately when I started reading it I knew that I wasn't going to last long, but I pressed forward anyways because I hate DNF-ing books just out of plain bordem. The book however contained things I didn't like and I knew I didn't want this trashy story running through my mind. I made it to chapter two, skimming already by this time.

Content ~ Use of bad language ( which I loathe ) Already talk of sexual stuff AND FOR PETE'S SAKES PEOPLE ITS ONLY CHAPTER 2!! Online dating is mentioned!! And insta love, gross . . . from both sides. Chapter one he's madly in love with her. Chapter two she's fiercely in love with him, and his body. UGH!!

The other reasons I DNF-ed this book were, bordem, immediate dislike of all characters ( I didn't connect with them in any way ), and it was book #15. So I started in the middle of a series, unknowingly. I hate that so much!! Mainly because of the spoilers!!

Anyways it was trashy, both because of the content and it plainly didn't interest me. And yes, it deserves to hang with my one stars because WHO WRITES DETAILS LIKE THAT??! Donna Grant ruined the description, ruined it. And for my detail loving side that horrified me.

V is the dragon king the others worry about because his grip on reality is not solid. They think it is because his sword has been stolen from him and he can't remember how. With this new story featuring what happened to V, it becomes more alarming. There are enemies the Dragon King does not even know about.

I loved learning about V. He is a dragon who is confused and is not seeing any meaning to life. When he chances upon Claire, it is as if he suddenly awakens. He knows something about her is special and he is intent on finding out. Claire on the other hand is a strong female with quite the burden to carry. She's been tasked with a family secret which she struggles to understand. When she meets V, a chain of events generations in the making finally kick off.

This chain of events leads the reader on a merry chase across the world and through time. It is a page turner and kept me up all night reading. The richness of the story is a trademark of Ms. Grant and I enjoy every new story she's written in this series. The formula for the book is essentially the same. Dragon finds female. Female is wary of Dragon. Dragon is in denial. A threat materializes to possibly take said female away; Dragon freaks out and realizes he loves her. Simple in formula yet Ms. Grant weaves it with many delicious scenes. Her character building is strong as each of these Dragon Kings and their one are unique. They have similar circumstances yet they respond in different manners. The way the characters grow together and fall for each other is the sweet romance to balance out the terrible acts committed against this noble dragons.

With each story and each dragon lord I read about, I'm even more vested in this world. I can't exactly see a happily ever after here because there are so many forces working against the dragons. And the dragons are fighting muzzled and with their wings clipped so to speak. They won't raise a hand to their enemies and play dirty. Sometimes being the good guy does not mean winning at the end.
This paranormal romance is recommended to readers who love dragons, adventure and timeless love.
