I liked this story and its characters but not having read the rest of the series, I was confused more than once. My error though. I shouldn't have requested thinking it could be read as a standalone. I will therefore not leave a review on any other site because it wouldn't be fair to the author.

Thank you for providing me with an ARC.

I didn't think V would get his story right away...but I'm glad he did! And with his book...the arc of this series moves forward... Loved it!

I have to admit I missed the story of Sophie and Darius so I didn't know Claire... But I liked her. Though her going thru dating sites seemed a little desperate to me... And V was always interesting. Such an interesting man.

I keep saying I need to start the series properly...but I am enjoying getting swept up in the ride to the climax of the series!

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for a copy of this book!

Another hot, steamy paranormal romance from Donna Grant.

As always with this author, there is a lot of steam. Be aware that this has loads of offensive language, detailed naked times, and decent action scenes. This is an ongoing series and while each book contains a new couple and could be enjoyed as a standalone, it will be enjoyed much more if read in order.

I highly recommend this series

This series has quickly moved up to my top paranormal romance recommendation list. Grant's characters have so much chemistry and she does a fantastic job of focusing on the main characters story, while also mixing in and furthering the over arching story line of taking down the fairy queen. Each book is simply another puzzle piece. I seriously cannot wait for the next book!

Donna Grant never fails to write books that I adore! I have been a massive fan of her writing for the longest time. She writes stories about Warriors, Druids, Fae and in this case, Dragons.

I enjoyed watching V and Claire's relationship build slowly throughout the book, it wasn't rushed or forced, and had an emphasis on trust which I appreciated. While nothing much happened to further the overarching storyline/war, I still could not put this book down - I devoured every page in one sitting, as I usually do with any books written by this author.

As usual, Ignite was filled with vivid descriptions, gorgeous characters that you will not be forgetting anytime soon, and a plot that makes you want to keep turning those pages so you can learn more about the Dragon Kings and their mates.

A massive thank you to St. Martin's Paperbacks and Donna Grant for giving me the opportunity to read and review an eARC of this book! I cannot wait for release day and for the next book in the series.

This absolutely fantastic!!! All the books and connecting books are all now collectively leading to this. This was a great story for V, but realign the main plot of it is finally getting to the nitty gritty of taking down Ubitch. There is so much revealed in this book and so much that has you sitting at the very edge of your seat anxiously awaiting to be revealed. The next and I assume final book is going to be epic!

I received a free copy of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I give this 3.5 stars **This is the first book I've read from this author. To start off, this is the 15th book in the series; while it's considered a stand-alone book, it may help to have read some of the previous books in the series to understand some of the subplots that were given in the story. Let me tell you, though there is a main story between Claire and V, there is also many other sub-stories going on throughout the book. They are all being expertly woven together to help further the ultimate Dragon Kings storyline series for more books as this book moves along. It makes for a very complex plot, needless to say. The characters are interesting, though Claire was starting to annoy me with her never-ending comments about dating. She just seemed needy to me, but hey, I guess she came across as cute to V so to each their own.

Ignite (Dark Kings #15) by Donna Grant .... I'm almost at a loss for words... Donna you are killing me...by the way thanks to the publisher and #NetGalley for letting me preview and review this book. I was caught up from the first page and it didn't stop when I finished the last page. This is V and Claire's story. Of course all the Kings and their mates are there as well as Rhi and Ubitch... There are laughs, tears, drama and more drama, steamy sex to get to their hopefully HEA...but of course Donna leaves us with a mystery and I can't wait for the next book to find out what happens next.

Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Witty Page-turner Great world building Action-packed Steamy Informative Happily Ever After Unpredictable Easy-to-read Romantic Entertaining Wonderful characters

Claire works as a nurse at her best friend’s clinic in a Scottish village outside of Dreagan. She has two secrets that she never revealed to anyone. Claire refuses to allow her dating flops to discourage her from finding The One. She discovers a kindred spirit with Vlad. Can Claire handle the trials of being a Dragon King’s mate? What role will she play with Vlad’s sword?
Vlad, known as V, is the Dragon King of the Coppers. He has spent the majority of his existence asleep in his mountain. V desperately tries to unlock his sword’s true power. Claire eases his restlessness, yet Vlad worries his nearness will endanger her life. Can V reconnect with his sword? What other surprises are in store for the Dragon Kings and their mates?
I have always been curious about V since his introduction in the series. I love how he unintentionally inspired the Dracula myth. I adore the effort V makes with Claire. He is a man used to keeping to himself, yet Vlad willingly initiates conversations to learn more about her. Also, he never once sugarcoats his opinions or thoughts. What I like most about V is how disconnected he is from the current time. He does not understand movie or music references, which often makes Vlad feel lost in the world.
It took me a while to warm up to Claire, especially since I did not read SMOLDERING HUNGER, book eight in the series. I like how trustworthy she is. Claire has kept the knowledge of the Dragon King’s existence secret since she learned about them. She even kept it from her best friend. I love how Claire refers to Vlad by his name rather than his lettered nickname. What I admire the most about Claire is how she never once gave up hope. No matter the duds she found while dating, she remained optimistic about finding Mr. Right.
IGNITE is book fifteen in Donna Grant’s paranormal series, DRAGON KING. It is necessary to read the prior books and novellas in the series to better understand the continuing plot happening in the background. I love how some of the couples from previous books show up throughout the story, especially Ulrik and Eilish.
IGNITE is an enthralling tale of two lonely, kindred souls finding each other. I wish the author dropped a little more information about the enigmatic Others. I cannot wait to see which Dragon King is next.

I was under the impression this was another genre of books, this is simply not for me :)

I see a lot of people do like this book / series so just ignore my opinion and have a go at it.

Another enjoyable and entertaining addition to the Dark Kings series. I absolutely loved V and Claire story. This book mainly focuses on the romance with them but also talks about Con and Rhi's proposed attack on the Light Fae Queen. So I was expecting to see the outcome from the ongoing battle against the fae and the Others. So as things become more complicated which I was all here for especially if it going to made sense in the scheme of things. So even though I enjoyed this book I wanted more than just V and Claire romance story. So I hope that the next book progress the storyline. I received a free copy via Netgalley I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.

The characters were your typical alpha male and defiant female. There was nothing original about the story. I lost interest half way through the novel.

"Ignite" is a great installment in the Dark Kings series, which follows the Dragon Kings. The Dragon Kings were the leaders of the clans of dragons who once roamed the Earth. When humans appeared, they shifted to be able to take human form. When war began waging with the humans, they sent the dragons away. Now, war is again brewing between the fae, Dragon Kings, and the Others (combined magics). While the overarching story is continued in this book, that mostly takes a backseat to a really great romance. Although the last few books have mostly been driving the overall plot forward, less happens here on that front.

V, which is the nickname for Vlad, has woken and has now regained his sword. However, he still feels a disconnect, possibly because of how long he has slept. He is considering returning to his mountain, away from Dreagan where he feels out of place. He is drawn to Claire, another Dragon King's mate's friend/sister of the heart. Claire is working at the clinic near Dreagan and carries the secret of the Dragon Kings- she knows about them but pretended to forget so that they wouldn't take her memories. She has always been particularly attracted to V, but she dates in the human realm- even though it never seems to go well. When V and Claire spend some time together, they realize their pull to be together is positively magnetic.

This romance is really strong, and I absolutely enjoyed reading about their romance. The overall plot of the series felt a little stalled in this book, but I actually liked the simpler plot of this sweet romance. V and Claire were a lot of fun, and I loved watching them come together. There are some twists at the end as we get back to the main/series plot, and I want so many answers that we do not yet have. The surprises at the end make me need the next book stat!

Overall, this is an absolutely sizzling paranormal romance, and I highly recommend for anyone who likes paranormal romances. While there is some of the series plot herein, I believe this can be read as a stand-alone. Please note that I received an ARC from the publisher through netgalley. All opinions are my own.

This one is the latest entry in the Dark Kings series, the stakes get higher and the good vs. evil dynamics keep changing but with Donna Grants compelling characters and previous protagonists you don't want to miss this one.

This book was absolutely epic. If you want action and romance with fantasy all in one book. Then this book is the one for you. I didn't know it book 17 in this series. I think I would enjoy the first 16books in this series as much as I enjoyed this one. I highly recommend it.

I love The Dragon Kings. This series is coming to the all out war so when a new release comes out I get so excited to find out if they finally take on Usaeil. Will Rhi and her dragon king unite in war? Will Balladyn survive the war?
This release does not answer those questions but answers some other ones. The first 70% of this book is V and Claire dancing with each other. Should we shouldn’t we? It felt like one long date. There’s a lot of recapping as well so it doesn’t really take off till the last part of the book. Then it gets good and interesting. It does progress a little ahead and leaves a cliffhanger but this felt like a filler book for me. Not enough forward or new information and a lot of recapping. I understand that is needed for new readers and as a refresher but this is book 15. Most will not start a new series at book 15. It felt all the recapping took up most of the book.
I’m hoping the next one will pick up at the end of this one and Rhi finally goes after the queen and not just talks about it or contemplates It anymore. No more dragging it out. Let’s go !

This is book 15 in the Dark Kinds series and you absolutely have to read the books before this one in order to understand what is going on in the bigger story ARC that has been building since the beginning. If you don't, you won't understand exactly what is happening or events that they speak about. With that being said, we finally get V's story!! He finally has his sword returned but all still isn't as it should be. And he doesn't know what to do now that his quest is over. We have seen Claire in other books and know she is best friends with another of the kings mates. And he is drawn to her in ways he doesn't believe he should be.

I had been so impatient for V's story and it definitely doesn't disappoint in any way, shape, or form! I don't want to say a lot because I really don't want to give away some of the things that happen and matter to the bigger story line. But V is just as alpha, kind, and sweet as I expected him to be! I loved every part of him and the things that drive him! Claire is definitely more than I expected her to be, and there is more to her story that I definitely will not say because it will give away part of their story. But she is sweet, loving, gentle, and has kindness coming out of every part of herself. They have great chemistry together! And, as usual, this author knows how to weave a story that draws you in and leaves you wanting more! There are certain things that are said in this one that make me question my original choice on a certain characters king as well! I honestly can't wait for the next king's book! And I definitely can't wait for Rhi's book!!!

let me yell ya.. every single book in this series just keeps getting better. there is so much going on you loose yourself in the soap opera the author has created . I will say I can't wait for Con's book, in the same sentence I will hate to see it all end.

I’m not entirely sure how to write a review of Grant’s Ignite. Did I enjoy reading it and fly through it? Yes. Were the characters unique and gripping? Maybe somewhat. Does this book stand head and shoulders above similar ones in a saturated genre? No, not really.
The premise is interesting. A group of man dragons live in an enchanted valley and have started taking human women for mates. They cannot procreate. They must hide their strength and their magic to blend in to the modern world. The men are strong. The women are supportive. At Dreagon, the book would have benefited from some deviation in that pattern.
