Lee is a single mom who spends almost all her time raising her son who is on the spectrum with the help of her close circle of friends. Except everything is not what it seems when secrets start to spill out.

Overall I did enjoy this book, but didn’t find myself all that intrigued by the secrets. There was one major plot twist I did find myself not predicting, but other than that I wouldn’t consider this much of a thriller!

Thank you to NetGalley and the Author and publisher for a copy of this ARC.The opinions expressed are my own.

Due to a extended illness I've gotten way behind on my reviews, so these are going to be short and sweet!

I loved this story. Read in one setting., Excellent plot, held my interest from first word. The characters were well liked and complex.

Deception, deceit and lies, followed by more deception, deceit and lies. Plot twists and turns with a shocking ending.

Mom Lee struggles to raise her autistic son Mason. As she tries to make a life it seems she will never meet her happily ever after. She always seems to be the left out mom in the mom group.

Handsome Noah works one on one with Mason and is the one persons she trusts to help with her son besides her best friend Grace.

Noah convinces her to go with her friends on a mom’s getaway weekend.

The weekend turns tragic and lives are changed as secrets are revealed.

Thank you to NetGalley the author and publisher for an advanced copy of the plot twisting book

Never for one moment did I envision how this book would end – never.

Because You’re Mine is the intriguing story of the interwoven lives of three people and one charming young boy who is on the spectrum. Mom, Lee, who works her butt off to provide a loving, comfortable and safe home for her son, Mason. His tutor, Noah, for whom Lee has a growing interest but tries to quell it in order not to upset Mason’s routine and Grace, the dutiful and caring friend. The story is told from each of their perspectives and we get glimpses into each of their lives, thoughts and concerns but primarily it all revolves around Lee and Mason. When Grace convinces Lee to get away for a weekend with two other friends, leaving Mason in Noah’s care, it seems that Lee finally will get some much needed time for herself. However, as the weekend progresses, secrets are revealed and only three of the friends come away alive. Sounds familiar, right? Wrong! Because You’re Mine is a unique twist on this theme and it is one that I’m sure you find interesting.

I really enjoyed this author's previous novel, Not Her Daughter so I was pretty disappointed when this one just fell flat for me. I was hooked initially, but then it started to drag and the twists weren't so surprising. Well except the final reveal which was completely unexpected! I do enjoy Rea's writing style and will read her upcoming book.

Thanks to Netgalley for my advanced copy.

This was my second from this author. I really enjoyed the first book, so I was looking forward to this one. This one did not disappoint. I kept looking for more time in the day to read this book and was sad when I had no more pages left to read.

And.. that twist! Read this book!

I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review

Fantastically unputdownable!! One of the best domestic suspense novels I’ve read this year! There is nothing predictable about Rea Frey’s Because You’re Mine! An engrossing novel of deep secrets and betrayal with so many twists and turns! Just when you think you’ve got it figured out she throws out a little nugget that completely changes the game! Absolutely loved reading Rea Frey’s second novel and will be sure to grab her debut Not Her Daughter!

This book had its suspenseful moments but didn’t hold my attention like I thought/hoped it would. However there were many moment when I was at the edge of my seat curious and I thought I knew the secrets the groups of friends had but then I was thoroughly mistaken. Very well written I will say!

I seem to be in the minority on this one. Yes it was twisty, kept me constantly figuring, but not in love with the style, awkwardly past and present, and my gosh, don't get me started on the overuse of adjectives!

I received an ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest opinion.

Lee and Grace are more like sisters than friends. They are each others support systems, especially for Lee who is a singly mother raising a son, Mason, with Autism. Something tragic happens while on a hiking trip, and one of the women is found dead. The details leading up to the death, bring to life the secrets that bind this story together.

It took me awhile to get into this and to hold my attention. There was suspense, but for some reason the characters and the plot just did not sit well with me. From the description, this book should have been right up my alley.

A nice mix of women's fiction and domestic thriller. Fans of Liane Moriarty will find it particularly enticing.

I love all books that touch on autism spectrum disorder. This was a powerful read, filled with suspense, emotions and a story storyline. I felt for the characters, and I was really sad when this one ended. Definitely one I would recommend.

Lies, and secrets and what keeps you safe? Drama, revenge, twists and turns and who do you really, really trust? What is actually protecting certain people? I actually did really well with this story. It's complicated and yet, not.
My copy came from Net Galley. My thoughts and opinions are my own. This review is left of my own free volition.

This suspenseful family drama thati could not figure out. I kept guessing along the way as I devoured this one in less than 24 hours. While it was a little slow to start, it flew by after 100 pages. Oh wow, the twist was not expected. Ot was so devious! I definitely recommend this one!

This story is told from the point of view from Lee, a single mother who we are informed is dead at the very onset of the book, her best friend Grace and Noah, tutor and therapist to Lee's son. We know something terrible happened to Lee, and we soon find out why. A fun thriller with secrets being slowly revealed and an explosive ending.

I feel terrible saying this but it took me forever to try and read this book. In fact, I had to download it on audible in order to get through it. I figured being stuck in the car listening would help me get into the book and be consumed by it. However, that did not happen, and at times I just wanted to turn it off. Don't get me wrong, the book was good. The twists, turns, plots, relationships; it all leads to a very good story. You'll definitely be surprised by the ending! However, at time the story just seemed long and drawn out. I loved Rea Frey's first book and had high hopes for this one. It is an alright, good book. It's just not as good as I hoped it would be. Thank you NetGalley for the review copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Just when you think you've figured it out, Rea Frey throws you another curve ball! This novel was a breath of fresh air and I could NOT put it down. I was drawn to this book because I really enjoyed a previous book by this author and I am glad I did!

The novel does begin with the foreshadowing that someone died, although not clear who, and then the story begins one week earlier before the death. The POV is split between three characters. Lee is a single mother of Mason, an autistic boy who is very smart. Her best friend is Grace, a divorced single mother and last but not least, Noah who is Mason’s tutor. All three characters have their secrets and all three are flawed. As the book progresses more secrets and lies come out.

The ending was a definite twist that I did not see coming!

I read a LOT of psychological thrillers, and I was surprised at the ending of Because You're Mine. The story unrolls in multiple POV and shifts in the timeline, which keeps you on your toes. I read the ebook, and I had a few moments of confusion, but it could have been due to formatting for the media. Overall, the characters were interesting and had depth/flaws that made them believable, and the plot worked beautifully.

This book started off a little slow to me and I couldn’t get into it. I hit about half way and it picked up and was enjoyable. I must say I didn’t see it coming and that makes for a great read! This book makes you reflect and look back through the pages to see what clues you’ve missed.
I will recommend it to friends! Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a great read!
