I would like to thank St. Martins Press for giving me the opportunity to review this advance copy. All I can say is WOW!

This book had me hooked from the first sentence of the prologue. Every time I thought I had it figured out, I found out that I was wrong! I never saw the last twist coming!

I loved Mason, he was just kind of a quirky kid that I found so endearing. I felt Lee was a little difficult to identify with, which I think was exactly what was intended. And I felt as though Grace could be any one of my friends, just a normal and down to earth character.

I loved this book, and flew through it. You won’t want to put it down!

Thank you to Net Galley and St. Martin's Press for the chance to read and review this exciting book! I have read both books by this author, and she just keeps getting better and better. This book will keep you up all night because you can't wait to see what will happen next. Several times I thought I had figured out things, but I was wrong. The author keeps the reader guessing right up to the very end. Lee and Grace are best friends-both have sons, but Lee's son is a special needs child. There is also a tutor, Noah, involved. It is a very involved plot, but the author does a brilliant job of bringing it all together and keeping the reader hooked. Highly recommend!!!

*4.5 stars*

There are a lot of mystery books out there right now about mothers and mom groups/mom friends, but this definitely stands out from the crowd!

Single moms Lee and Grace are best friends. They have a lot in common - they both have sons, they both live in the same neighborhood, and are extremely supportive of each other. Lee's autistic and socially awkward son, Mason, is even a big fan of Grace! So when their larger group of friends decide to have a girls weekend in the mountains, it seems like the perfect chance for both women to relax and get away from the kids!

Before the weekend is over, one woman is dead, and the others have to grapple with the consequences. Was it an accident, or does someone have a particularly deadly secret?

Our story is revealed through the eyes of three main characters: Lee, Grace, and Mason's attractive tutor, Noah. Everyone has secrets, and the web of how these characters are connected and how their pasts shaped their present lives unravels in a hypnotic, hard-to-put-down manner. Everything is laid out there for the reader, but I was still gut-punched by the last reveal. Satisfyingly, I quickly realized that the clues were there the whole time!

I liked Frey's first book, but I think this one is even better!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC.

Because You're Mine was my first book by Rea Frey. I had heard great things about this book from some of my reading friends and after being in a "thriller rut" I was looking for something to get me out of it.

This book had all the elements of a great domestic thriller, highly detailed characters, mystery, and suspense. I think what I have been missing lately with thrillers is the ability to really get to know the characters and what happened in their pasts to play into their current situations and Frey did an amazing job with this aspect. I also loved getting to know Lee's son Mason. His character was great and I loved what a big role he had in this book.

This book had a perfect balance of thinking I had it all figured it out and also keeping me on the edge of my seat. Her writing is edgy and this book is full of secrets. I thought I knew what was happening and I was in for a big surprise at the end.

I am excited to read more of Frey's writing in the future! Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Its seems as if everyone has a secret, and the dramatic flash-forward beginning keeps us on the edge of our seats as the story unfolds. I loved the dictionary-inspired diary entries . They added depth and a new layer, kept the book moving in a fresh and novel way. We aren’t exactly sure who is penning them, which adds tension.

A story of deception and double-crosses, it's a fast-moving story with a host of complicated characters.

Nice twist at the end. Knew something was up but still was unprepared. Good writer. Good characters. 4*

A very addictive read!
There are three main characters, Lee, Her best friend Grace, and her son Mason’s OT, Noah.
Early in the book, secrets are hinted at, by all three, and you think, this is too easy, I have it figured out.
Slowly you find out their secrets, most of which I did figure out before being revealed
BUT...
Just enough of a punch and a twist to it, that you keep reading. And you try to put it down to go to sleep, but your mind is spinning in circles so you pick it back up and continue.
The final secret was the one I did not guess.
This is a great and very addictive book!

For me, there were some violent scenes that were unsettling and bothered me, but not enough to put it down for good. Those scenes Are not the type of thing I normally read.

Thank you Netgalley for a great page turner!

This book is not as it seems... don’t even try to figure it out as I’m sure you won’t - I loved Not Her Daughter so was delighted when I saw Rea Frey had a second novel coming out. And even more delighted when I was able to snap up an ARC on Netgalley.

The story surrounds 3 main characters, each with their own complexities and issues. Lee; single mother to Mason, who has special needs, and she is struggling to make ends meet in her home hairdressing salon, Grace; her school Mum friend, a divorcee with one son, and Noah; the saviour tutor who understands Mason and spends his days tutoring him. He also has his demons in the past. The three of their relationships are linked in a way that is going to shatter them one way or another....
I liked the way the story was told, in each of their point of view, both past and present.
I did find it slightly slow to get into unlike her first novel, but once it got going I couldn’t put it down and needed answers. The story really ramps up after the school mums go on a weekend away and tragedy strikes. You’re left thinking how can this possibly play out... I thought I had it figured but no! The twist at the end was a shocker... I actually had to re-read the end several times just to make sure.
Emotional rollercoaster!
I gave the book 4 stars instead of 5 just because I felt it a little slow to get into and a little rushed at the end (maybe as I didn’t see the ending coming). But overall a fantastic read and highly recommended. Looking forward to the next one!

WOW! That’s the exact word I said as I finished Rea Frey’s ‘Because You’re Mine.’ This book was fantastic!

The story follows three main characters. Lee, her best friend, Grace and her son’s tutor, Noah. It’s told in alternating points of view and past and present. Mason, Lee’s son, was a highlight of the story and I loved reading about his personality. All of the characters were developed and written so well, that I felt like I knew them in real life.

We start to slowly learn that all 3 are keeping secrets. I guessed most of the secrets early on, but it didn’t take away from the story. If anything, it made the story better and set the scene for that shocking ending.

My heart broke at reading the ‘past’ chapters. These characters have experienced a lot of heartache and tragedy and I truly felt for them. The pain that the author described was so raw and real, that I felt I was right there experiencing it with them.

The ending! My goodness, that ending! I never saw it coming and had to reread it, to make sure I read it right! It was incredible!! What a wonderful story!

Thank you to St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for sending me an early reader’s copy in exchange for an honest review!

This was awesome! I wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it was! I couldn’t put it down! In a way it reminded me of like a Jodi Picoult novel and I loved it! It held my interest and so emotional reading it! I give this 5 stars all the way!!

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for allowing me to read this novel in exchange for an honest review.

Another great suspense book by Rea Frey! Honestly she is one of the best writers that I have read in a while. She is able to really bring you into her books and make you feel a part of it.

Lee is a single mom and her best friend convinces her to go on a girls weekend which turns into a nightmare. This book really keeps you guessing!

This book was a thrilling ride from start to finish. As a mother, I understand the need to protect my child, but there are times when we just need a break. However, a mother's fear never takes breaks. And for Lee, she needs a break the most, but her fears are also deeply ingrained (as well they should be). The writing paired with the thrilling story propelled me from beginning to end in just a short couple of days. These characters were--are--real, and this story is gripping.

Wow, just wow. This book was amazing! I love the perspectives of the three main characters, and how it was written in both past and present. The ending was a HUGE shocker that made me say "holy crap" out loud.

Wonderful book with a super shocker ending. Loved it.

Thank you Rea Frey and St. Martin’s Press for gifting me a copy of this book in exchange of an honest review. All opinions are my own.

I rate this book a 5 out of 5 Stars.

Rea Frey, the amount of talent you have is astounding. I was lucky enough to be able to review “NOT HER DAUGHTER” and absolutely fell in love with it, so as soon as I saw Rea was writing another book, I knew I had to have it. This book I love just as equally, if not more than NHD.

First off, let’s start with the Note From The Author, Rea starts off this book with her own personal story, and when I read it, my first thought was “wow” I sent her a message, and I thanked her for her honesty, and for making herself very relatable to some of her readers. Make sure you read it!

I loved everyone, I loved that every single character was unreliable in one way or another. I didn’t know who to trust, and I felt like my head was spinning trying to keep up with them. (In the best way possible). I loved he formatting, the Parts 1, 2, 3, the alternating characters, the alternating between past, and present. The insights you get to Lee, Grace, and Noah. It was quite literally the best guessing game I have ever played. This was like a puzzle, and I had the pleasure of piecing this incredible story together.

There was so much complexity to this story, it wasn’t just a simple read. Everyone had a tragic, dark history, and even saying that, once I got to the end, I was completely blindsided, I was for sure I had it figured out, I had even messaged Rea and told her my guess. Happy to say, I was way off course! I am so happy that the ending was so mind blowing, and nothing I could have ever predicted.

When you read other reviews, stating this book is Compulsive, edge of your seat, twisted, evil, dark, creative, intense, thrill ride, atmospheric, etc. It is all of that, and so much more. It is dark, and delicious, heart breaking, and perfect, I LOVED EVERY. SINGLE. PAGE.

Shocking, suspenseful, and wow, I never saw that coming. Rea Frey's story about a group of friends, their children, and a very big secret will leave you with your jaw completely on the floor. Frey's writing is genius as what happens to the character who dies is given to the reader in the first chapter. Readers must wait to find out who it is who has died and must wait even longer to find out why. Not to worry though, as this book reads as smooth as butter. My eyeballs were glued to the pages and I couldn't wait to get home each day to pick it up and read. With a cast of strong-willed characters and ulterior motives, this book is sure to please fans of the mystery and suspense categories.

Thank you to Netgalley, Rea Frey, and St. Martin's Press for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I received a copy of from NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion. Thank you to the author and publisher for the opportunity.

5 Stars and here’s why:

Total book hangover. Read it in one night. Couldn’t put it down. Ms. Frey’s BECAUSE YOU’RE MINE is engaging and well written, but more importantly, she captured my attention from the get-go and I simply couldn’t stop reading. I just planted myself in a chair and devoured this story. There are so many twists and turns, and the plot is tightly woven, that the reader needs to pay attention to every nuance because just when you think something makes sense, bam! You’re going to be thrown for a loop and your heart will be pounding and your head will be spinning. I totally had whiplash trying to keep my wits about me while reading this story! This is my second book by this author, and I have to say, she knocked it out of the park.

If you like extraordinary writing, a plot-driven story with suspense and intrigue, plus well-drawn characters that have you thinking for days afterward, then this book is definitely for you. Highly recommend.

Wow.

That word sums up the whole book. Every time you think you know everything that there is to know, something new and unexpected happens. This book is a page turner and definitely a to be read for 2019. I highly recommend this book to anyone and am not going to read the first book she published.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this book as an advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review.

My benchmark for an excellent book is one that is unpredictable, and this book definitely is! I never would have guessed the twist that happened at the end! While the bedroom scenes are a bit violent for my taste, they are an integral part of the story. Rea Frey, you conquered the “second-book curse!”

A group of friends decide to go away for the weekend and one of them ends up dead. The story starts out with a fall and the reader continues to tumble through the many twists and turns throughout the story.
This story has many surprises and a shock towards the end. I greatly enjoyed this story. It was never quite what it seemed.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced copy of the book.
