What a roller coaster ride! This book had so many twist and turns. It kept me guessing from start to finish.
The story is told from the point of views of Caroline a rich woman who seems to have it all, and Aidan a misguided young man from a humble background. The story unfolds with each character giving you their perspective on the same events. I found myself going back and forth as to whose story I believed. This is an excellent book for those that like psychological thrillers!

This book I could not put down. Nothing and I mean NOTHING is as it appears!!!! So much packed into this book. A shocking twist at the end left my mouth open! Lol My 2nd book by this author and I just love her writing style. Excellent book! Thank you so much NetGalley and the publisher for this book for my honest review. Due out July 2019.

This book requires a little patience from the reader. It starts off more like a romance novel, then becomes more like a bad romance novel, and then becomes strange, as the main characters, Caroline and Aidan, are describing the same interaction in vastly different fashions, and the reader gets the impression that Aidan is somewhat unhinged. However, once the story gets deeper into the suspense/psychological thriller plot, it flows better and becomes a more enjoyable read. The ending is somewhat disappointing, as things resolve too quickly, although Aidan does have a good parting line. The characters are well-developed and the plot is intricate. The contradictory perspectives, which seem awkward at first, work well as the story progresses. Overall, a good book to read. I am interested in checking out the author's earlier books.

I received a copy of the e-book to review via NetGalley.

A Stranger on the Beach by Michele Campbell is a well written, suspenseful mystery on what happens when a lovely woman with way too many surprises to handle meets up with a sexy bartender with plenty of secrets. Told from the perspectives of Caroline Stark, who realizes her marriage is falling apart right when she meets Aiden Callahan. Aiden's also shares his pespective on what is happening between him and his new love, Caroline. He is a bartender that Caroline is drawn to and she can't seem to resist falling into bed with him to get even with her cheating husband.Their one night stand winds up having some devastating consequences.

One of the things I liked most in reading A Stranger on the Beach is how believable each narrative really is. I wanted to believe Aiden, even though he felt wrong and I wanted to believe Caroline even though she felt wrong. I think that Michele Campbell excels at point of view while still letting the writing and plot pull the reader in for more.

Once you reach the last few chapters the different narrative voices make a lot more sense!!! There are a few characters I am drawn into that I feel like they deserve a novel of their own. Caroline's sister, Lynn is layered. There is more depth there that this novel didn't get into but you can tell she has stories. Jess, the detective and Mike Castro another detective definitely seemed to have a spark there. Would be interesting to see where they went.

Jason Stark does not have a huge role in this novel. He is more absent than present and when present seems to have multiple personalities which only made me more curious. Captivating story, a few surprises, and a good ending!!

Thank you to NetGalley, Michele Campbell, and St.Martin's Press for the ARC of A Stranger on the Beach. As always, my opinions expressed are my own.

A Stranger on the Beach felt like a hot mess from the very beginning. Caroline, a wealthy weekender, sees Aidan on the beach near her beach home. She's having troubles with her husband and everything blows up between them at a party at their house while Aidan is bartending. Then she ends up at the bar where he works, they have a fling, but their connection doesn't end. Then a crime is committed. Was it Caroline? Was it Aidan? Do I care? The book tells the story from Aidan and Caroline's points of view leading up to the crime and they vary so differently it's like reading two different books. Neither one is likable. Caroline is a rich, whiny, entitled person. Aidan is crazy or gullible. Then once the crime is committed the book switches perspectives again to a detective investigating the crime - and she seems pretty gullible too. By the end, I wasn't surprised at how it played out and I didn't really care. I was just ready to be done.

This is what all psychological thrillers aspire to be. Michelle Campbell has gone above and beyond with this narrative, delivering a truly outstanding piece of literature. The characters are all wonderfully developed with unique attributes and flaws that draw the reader in. The plot creepy and manipulative and everything this genre needs. Campbell’s writing is clever and addicting, allowing the reader to become submerged in the story rather than left on the outside as a spectator. Amazing. 5 stars.

What starts as a night of unbridled lust quickly turns into a fatal attraction.....but who is stalking whom?

Caroline and Jason Stark are one of the hottest couples around town. Jason is a successful banker, and Caroline is a desperate housewife, filling her days with decorating their new mansion on the beach. What is supposed to be a housewarming bash quickly turns sour when Caroline finds out that Jason has been having an affair. Angry, hurt, and desperate to get back at him, Caroline has a one-night stand with Aidan, the sexy bartender in town.

Immediately Caroline regrets her decision, especially when it becomes apparent that Aidan has more on his mind than just a simple fling. He becomes obsessed with Caroline and is eager for her to end her marriage. When Caroline refuses, he ups the ante, and begins to stalk Jason, as well as Caroline's sister and daughter. He is desperate for a way to get to Caroline and make her love him, and he will go to any length to achieve his goal.

Then, one stormy night Aidan shows up at Caroline's beach house, and it all takes a turn for the worse. Someone ends up dead, but why? What does Caroline have to hide? Is Aidan really the villain Caroline portrays him to be, or is Caroline hiding a dark secret of her own?

Great book! I really enjoyed the fatal attraction premise. Campbell did a great job of not revealing all of the characters' motives. I truly did not know who was hiding what secret until the very end of the story. Be prepared to stay up late reading this one. I was hooked from the beginning!

Do you like unreliable narrators? Then maybe you might like two unreliable narrators! Michele takes us into Caroline Stark's world, where her 20 year old marriage falls apart out of nowhere. To deal with her pain she looks for comfort in the arms of Aidan Callahan; a one night stand, whom becomes sickly obsessed with her to the point of stalking her and her family. His existence in her life brings her into a downward spiral of murder, mystery, affairs and intrigue.

This book definitely kept you intrigued page after page. The cliffhangers were on every last page of every chapter, forcing the reader to be engrossed and dedicated to the characters and the story! The writing was great and well structured with enough information to understand the minds of the narrator. This book is written with two POV.

Although, once we reached 85% of the book, the ending was very predictable and highly unlikely or realistic. I enjoyed the read but was expecting more from the ending.

On a separate note. Michele does highlight a very important issue: victims of stalkers, or of "obsessed people" that follow you or show up everywhere you appear, are not protected by police until something happens. Which makes it very frustrating to keep victims at ease.

This review will be up on my IG books_and_stilettos and Goodreads one week before release date. Thank you for this copy and approval.

I really really wanted to like this book. And at many parts, I truly did. I also did not anticipate the ending at all, which is a sign of a good thriller. However there was something just...off about the book. Even after the plot twist, I found myself with so many questions, and poking holes at many of the plot lines. There were many things that seemed completely unrealistic, and it wrapped up too perfectly at the end to be believable. I gave this one a fair shot, but it wasn’t my favorite - overall just too far fetched of a plot line.

Captivating, twisted and utterly thrilling! Caroline and Jason are a wealthy and powerful couple, with a magnificent house on the beach and a city apartment. Caroline thinks her husband is having an affair, so when she is tempted by a hot looking guy, Aidan, she has a one night stand with him. Aidan becomes obsessed with Caroline and worries about her because he feels she is not safe and he wants to protect her. From that point, I just never knew what was going to happen, who was telling the truth or what the real story was. This was a great suspenseful read with a really surprising ending.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This tells the story of a married woman who has a brief fling with a local bartender. Then things escalate. The story is told in alternating points of view - his and hers. But the stories don't match up.

As the story escalates, I believe neither of them. But one of them has to be telling the truth, right? But he seems crazy and she seems to be too stupid to be believed.

I kept reading to find out what really happened and who was telling the truth. I kept telling myself "one more chapter" as I read late into the night. .

Read it for yourself and see.

Michele Campbell did it again! A very enjoyable and very well written thriller that keeps you on your toes from the beginning and all the way to the last page. Fast paced and a real page turner that had me guessing between the two points of view and asking myself who was telling the truth. Characters who appear to be one moment greedy, violent, liars but at the same time naive. All in all, an intense story that kept me until the wee hours of the morning just like Ms. Campbell’s other books. Highly recommended.

Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin Press for giving me access and allowing me to read an advanced copy of this book.

Michelle Campbell does not disappoint! This is the second book by Campbell that I have read and I thoroughly enjoyed it! A Stranger On The Beach begins with Caroline, the perfect wife living the perfect life. This all comes crashing down. Caroline finds her husband is cheating on her and the craziness begins! Campbell takes you on a ride that you will think you have been on before and then she completely changes direction. I was convinced bad boy, Aidan, was behind it all. Campbell proved me wrong! I must say, Campbell did an awesome job writing; I had so much anxiety reading the first half of the book, yet I didn't want to stop reading! (That is great writing in my book.) Overall, A Stranger On The Beach was a good psychological thriller. I did think it lagged a tad about halfway through. I persevered and I am glad I did. It picked right back up and kept going! Campbell's writing is great and easy to follow. She wrote this from the point of view of a few of the characters. I would definitely recommend to others and I will definitely continue to look for Michelle Campbell's other work. Special thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the advanced digital copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

Wow! I absolutely devoured this book. I just finished it and my mind is still reeling. Its very well written and takes the reader on a twisted roller coaster of suspense told through several different point of views. The book centers on Caroline, a wealthy housewife who gets tangled between her marital problems with her husband, Jason, and her one night stand, a mysterious bartender in town named Aidan Campbell. I thought I had an idea where the plot was heading about halfway through, and though I was somewhat able to predict it, I was still pleasantly surprised by how it all played out. There was also a big twist near the end that I did not see coming at all! Michele Campbell did a great job building the story then tying everything up in the end. If you’re a fan on psychological thrillers, you definitely don’t want to miss this one!

Wow! Twists and plot turns with every chapter. Michele Campbell has written a “he said/she said” that will be hard to put down. Wait for the surprise ending.

STRANGER ON THE BEACH by Michele Campbell was very good. The twists were unforeseen. Caroline and Jason has a daughter, Hannah. Jason has been traveling more than usual and Caroline is fearing he is having an affair. Jason swears he is not. Now,, I truly believe that this is quite a show especially when Jason comes to his housewarming party with a very made-up woman on his am. If Jason is so good looking why would he go for someone like that? Well, on with the story. Jason and Caroline split after the party and Caroline meets a young handsome man who would follow her like a puppy dog. She has an affair with Aiden. As the story goes on I found it went into two people giving different explanations of the same incident. I was an bit confused at first. Caroline was setting one of the men up for murder so she could get a big life insurance pay out. Good book. No spoilers from me. I would definitely suggest this book for Indies Next.

He said/She said plus. what is better than one unreliable narrator, maybe two unreliable narrators, what is the real story and what is the thruth between the two perspective. A clever take on a love triangle gone wrong. we get to examine our assumptions, who do we believe and why??
