This is the first book I have read by Camilla Isley and I love her style. This was a well written romcom and it did not disappoint. The thing that drew me to this book was the description and what kept me reading was my love for the main character, Blair. She was super relatable and I really found myself rooting for her happiness. Unfortunately I wasn't a huge fan of Richard for most of the book. He did one thing that I really don't think I would have forgiven so that kind of skewed my view of him. All in all this was a great book and I want to read more of this series!

A harmless little romance; I Have Never, by Camilla Isley, follows the story line of a dedicated young career woman who is thrown over by her boyfriend and passed over for a big promotion all in quick order. She then goes on a drunken tear and decides to break all the rules she had set for herself “never” to do. She wakes up in the bed of a stranger who quickly becomes her boss and eventually her lover. They all live happily ever after. There are no startling revelations or amazing plot twits, Isley strictly adheres to the story arc of any of many popular romances.

A light read.

This was a refreshing bedtime read. I liked the message that the 'dream job' might not be the 'dream' after all and that there are different paths in life if we are open to them. I loved Chevron - he added a quirkiness and cute factor to the story!

Very sweet romance. I loved Blair's courage to change the way she was living her life, using her 'I will never' list to push her toward new experiences. I didn't love how quickly she moved on from her ex, but her relationship with her boss built up wonderfully. I did not read the first book in this series but this one holds up very well as a stand-alone. I plan to read the rest of the series to learn more about these characters.

Chick-lit is not normally my cup of tea, but this was a quick read - light-hearted, funny and of course romantic. Just what I needed! I liked the concept of life events conspiring to overturn the way you've lived your life, and titling the chapters after the list of "rules" the heroine has decided to no longer abide by was clever. Having said that, the characters lack depth, but then that wasn't really the point of the book, was it?

amazing light hearted romance read! The pace of this book is not too slow or too fast and the character seemed real and the conflicts doesnt look fake or made up or rushed!

I Have Never is the story of Blaire. This is a woman who has always lived by a set of rules. But, even the rules can't stop her life from falling apart. When everything goes wrong, Blaire decides no more rules. She tries new and different things. The results are funny and charming. The story is a great romcom style read. It's well written and engaging. Blaire is intelligent, strong and independent. The lesson here is to just live. Don't worry about rules because, whatever happens, the rules won't save you from the pitfalls of life. Thanks to NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

I Have Never is a fun, light-hearted read that flies by. It tells the story of a woman who has always done the right thing and lived by a list of things one should never do, only to have her life come crumbling down around her. She decides to do the opposite of everything that’s on the list and see where life takes her. This leads to some interesting moments for her, and eventually down the path towards love. I read this in one evening; I was having too much fun reading it to stop in the middle. I will definitely be checking out the next (standalone) book in the series.

So,this story is about an employee and a boss who fall into a romance and the obstacles that prevent an immediate happy ending.Nikki, the heroine had a bad day that translated into her meeting her soulmate in a less than ideal circumstance. While I didn't feel the connection and couldn't fully buy into the romance, the story was compelling enough that, unlike most books I have read, I finished this one in just hours. This book was touted as a laugh-out loud romance but I truly only had one episode of that happening in the scene with Indira and the heroine's ex,the rest of it was building up to but fell short, eliciting smiles and anticipation only. The title was perfect for the story as it conjures up all kinds of scenarios, gets the readers' minds curious trying to figure out what the heroine would never do and what they would also never do.Would love to read a story about sassy Indira and also about the other occupants on the office floor - the lawyer and the psychologist.Loved the book, thanks Netgalley.

This was a super quick, cute read that I really liked. I laughed out loud so many times in this book! This was my first read by the author and will not be my last. It is the second book in the First in Love series, but it’s a standalone. I haven’t read the first one and still enjoyed this one.

I would probably qualify this more as a chick lit book. It’s not my usual genre and I haven’t read one in a few years, so I don’t remember if this is normal but, there was not a lot of descriptions or details about anything, unless it was talking about shoes or clothes (btw I would love to have her amazing wardrobe!). I really couldn’t tell you much about Blair, the main character. I loved Richard, the hero, but I had a lot of trouble with their lack of chemistry.

I enjoyed many of the supporting characters: Indira, Christian, Nikki and of course, Chevron, the dog! The ending was so cute. I think Nikki and Christian are separately getting the next books in the series and I will definitely be reading those. I would recommend this especially if you're looking for a quick read and a good laugh!

Blair Walker has a list of things her mother told her women never do. She carries this list in it's own special pocket in her purse everyday as a reminder. In a series of unfortunate events, Blair finds herself jobless and single. Feeling angry and sorry for herself, she decides that since following the list didn't better her life, maybe it's time to do the opposite. In a journey to mark off every single item on the list by doing it's opposite action, Blair finds herself with a job in Brooklyn instead of Manhattan, and a boss she's falling for, but who's emotionally unavailable. Navigating a new job and unrequited love aimed at your boss isn't easy.

This is the first Camilla Isley book that I've read. I have to say that I really liked it. The book was funny and sweet, almost reminiscent of a Hallmark movie, but in the best way possible. I absolutely loved Blair and her decision to hold her head high no matter how much she wanted to be swallowed up by the floor in some situations. My heart broke for her when Richard wouldn't reciprocate her feelings. Overall, I thought this was a great book, I definitely plan on reading the rest of the series.

I Have Never by Camilla Isley

This e-book was provided to me by NetGalley for an unbiased and honest review.

So I actually read this book without reading Love Connection and I still loved it! I want to go back and read Love Connection now to learn about Richard’s past relationship that played a large role in I Have Never.

Blair Walker has a list of rules for her life. She believes that if she follows her list of rules, her life will go according to plan. But she has a rough start in the beginning of the book. Blair thought she was getting a big promotion and a marriage proposal… Instead, she loses her job and breaks up with her long-term boyfriend. She then spirals into a series of events when she decides to forget her list of rules and basically do everything opposite of her list of rules. She finds a new job working for Richard (a total hunk), helps build a professional empire, and her life has totally changed – for the better.

I love how the book was written in reflection of Blair’s list that she used as a guide for the majority of her life. Each chapter highlighted one of the items on her “do/do not” list and it was just a really cute book! I really really enjoyed it!

This is my first book from Camilla Isley, and it wont be the last.
I loved this book!
Blair lives her life through a series of "rules", but when her boyfriend of three years breaks up with her the same week she loses her job Blair loses her temper and decides no more rules!
I love the concept of this book, it's so funny and lovable. I loved the work dynamic between the characters and their banter.

I had a fair few criticisms about this book but, as I read more and more of it, it really was a nice fun read.

Superficially, it's a good concept - a woman who lives by a list of dos and do nots loses her boyfriend and her job in the same day and ends up doing a lot of things she vowed she'd never do. Blair was a bit of a Mary Sue, especially in her career progression, and showed a lot of unexplained bias for someone who worked in fashion (a fashion editor disregarding hipsters and casual fashion is so '00s). The romance seemed a little insta-love-y despite very little interaction but it wasn't bad.

Overall, the prose was well-written and had decent flow, but the characters lacked depth. Despite a few scenes where characters expressed strong emotions, I didn't find myself particularly caring because there wasn't much drawing me into caring about the character.

It was a fun read and I enjoyed it overall, but I wouldn't reread it.

This was my first book by Ms. Isely and I'm now a huge fan! Loved the use of rom-com tropes and doing something fun with them. I think my only suggestion would be to amp up the heat level (I wanted to read a bedroom scene between our hero and heroine), and to clean up the formatting of the 'chat scenes' (which looked clunky and not modern). Looking forward to other novels by this author.

I received a free copy of I HAVE NEVER by Camilla Isley in exchange for an honest review. Blair Walker has lived her life according to her plan for success, which includes a strict list of dos and don’ts. When Blair loses out on her promotion, is fired, and is dumped by her long-term serious boyfriend all in one day, Blair decides to do all of the don’ts on her list. Set free to be messy, emotional, and badly-behaved, Blair begins to finally to live her life and not a list. When Blair embraces chaos, her happily ever after finally begins.

I liked this book. It was light-hearted, happy, and sweet. I was not my usual type of story, but it left me with a smile on my face. Enjoy!

This is a fun read but completely out of touch with reality. NO ONE would hire an employee who holds an interview late at night totally drunk, sleeps over, gets arrested, and then sleeps with said boss. You would be banned from the industry.
