Being part of a super couple with a catchy name would benefit Tucker and Kenzie since Hollywood and fame is such a fickle creature should have been a walk in the park. What they didn’t count in was for every moment to be real allowing them to find each other.

Rock 'n' Roll star Tucker McKay and America's sweet heart Mackenzie Bennett. What can go wrong?
Tucker lost his muse so he decided to retire to Colorado and Mackenzie is trying to revive her career by starting a right movie.
When she sees Tucker at a night club, she wanted to ask him about his last interview about her until she trips and lands on his crotch and paparazzi goes wild.
Now Mackenzie will need to fake date Tucker until whole rumor dies down until new years. Everything is arranged by their manager and all they had to do is show up for couple photo ops.
Mackenzie wanted to star a new movie and one of the producer is willing to give the leading role if Tucker writes the song. She thought she would convince him to write since they are dating.
Now his family gets the news of their dating situation and invites her to their home in Colorado. It is perfect opportunity for Mackenzie to convince Tucker to write.
They are having a great time until everything was becoming real for both.

This could be standalone and I can't wait to read the next book. Tucker and Mackenzie were likable characters. I enjoyed it.

I liked this cute and funny novella. The story was well written and I was engaged all the way through. It could have used a little more character development (but that's often the case with shorter stories), some back ground was mentioned but I had trouble feeling how the characters feel about their issues. Overall, a good quick read and a nice installment into the Mile High series. *I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and this my voluntary and honest review.

This author has outdone herself once again with this story and this series. I can honestly say that this book will allow you to immerse yourself with the characters, and let you forget the world around you, so you can sink yourself into their story. You won’t regret it. A heart-melting laugh out loud, steamy hot, can’t put down read. I would absolutely recommend

I had a great time with Tucker and Mackenzie..These two had met before and had some good chemistry or that is what Mackenzie thought until Tucker came out in an interview and was not very flattering so she decides she is going to confront him when she sees him when she least expects it, unfortunately for her it was not the place or time and now to save their image they have to get into a fake relationship which we all know never stay fake..Tucker's family was funny and just the needed humor we needed. I loved having Brek again even if it was a short while.Grab a copy and Enjoy!

I absolutely loved this book. I read it in one go. It was fun, cute, flirty and please it has a former rockstar cowboy. What more can I say? I really loved it. It was an easy read, well written with likable characters. Especially Tuckers mom Lori. She was as a hoot. I would recommend this to anyone.

A brief introduction of Brek from Book 1 of the series and gives a glimpse into Brek's life before he helped his sister. This is only the second book I've read by Hovland and I must say I am hooked. She is a definite must read author for me. I look forward to reading more of this series and her other works.

Tucker McKay is a semi-retired rock star who broke up with his rock band a few years ago due to the stress and pressures of losing his muse and writing abilities. He only has a few more weeks left in LA before retiring full time to his  Colorado ranch. He has to fulfill his last few obligations including being in a fake relationship with a woman he has lusted after from afar.

Mackenzie Bennett is America's Sweetheart, who is worried about slowly fading from the spotlight and becoming obscure even though she's tiring of acting. She has also been secretly writing screenplays for movies in her spare time but only showing them to her best friend and manager, Leah.  One embarrassing trip-up lands her face first in a man's crouch--a gorgeous, sexy man she blushes thinking about. And is now in a fake relationship with in an attempt to salvage her career. Too bad she falls for the sexy sweet cowboy with an incredible family.

Blurb:

A supercouple for Christmas.

Rock ‘n’ roll cowboy Tucker McKay’s muse has left the building. Returning to his roots at his Colorado ranch might be the inspiration he needs, and he’s done everything he can to ensure his reputation shines for his eventual return to the public eye, should his muse show up again. Ready to leave town, he’s not prepared for the paparazzi frenzy after a starlet falls face down on his lap at L.A.’s trendiest new night club.

America’s Sweetheart, Mackenzie Bennett’s career is on the rocks after a few lackluster movies damaged her studio appeal. She needs something to change, and fast. What she does not need is the firestorm that ensues after an ill-fated spill is caught on camera. Spending Christmas in Colorado with the man she publicly embarrassed is her only option to turn around the bad press.

While a fake relationship might drum up the publicity needed to save both of their careers, a small-town family Christmas may be just what they both need to figure out what truly matters… Buy Rock Hard Cowboy for a steamy, laugh-out-loud Christmas romance!

*My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This book should be read after book two and before book three, however i see none of the previous characters in this book.

The book starts in a club where the two characters have already met previously and gotten on well, before an article came out in the tabloids that paints Mackenzie in a bad light.

Mackenzie wants to speak to Tucker, however a tumble lands her in an awkward place and more tabloid papers leaving both camps managers having to play out a girlfriend boyfriend scenario between the two.

Both characters have ulterior motives, but the feelings between the two soon heat up and they share more about themselves to each other than they ever have before.

The feelings are really captivating and Tucker, how gets himself into a pickle manages to fix things with Mackenzie boefre its too late.

A sweet read, brilliant to read infant of the fire.

A fading actress and a has-been singer. What a perfect couple set up by their managers. The concept of using each other turned me off, but I liked the characters enough to stick with it. Must admit I liked it better than I thought I would. A quick and easy read, and one I recommend.

A PR relationship leads to a whirlwind romance that could sweep anyone off by their feet with how quick it was! Time after time without fail, an instant romance could ruin any series for me, unless it’s straight Erotica and this fit perfectly in that category. Sure there was not any real depth to the characters, realistic romance nor a decent storyline yet this would be a perfect fit for anyone looking for a quick and easy read to put you in the holiday mood.

4 Breaking Through the Barriers
* * * * Spoiler Free
You know when you find a pair of shoes and they fit just right...It's like nirvana and then you search out every other shoe made by that manufacturer...Well, finding an author who you just connect with and receive all the happy feels you want when you read them...that is a Score.

Christina Hovland does that for me. I discovered her recently and she has not let me down. After finishing this novella, I had a huge grin on my face.

Mackenzie Bennett is in a very bad place. She has been America’s Sweetheart since she was little. Her Mom-Manager saw the sparkle she had and ran with it. Mackenzie had been on a roll, hitting all the targets...having a show, growing up on the screen, then doing movies with everyone loving her.

She learned to play the part.
She learned not to trust.
And she learned when a couple of films don't go as expected...You need to dig yourself out.

Which placed her in this new nightclub, pretending she was into it and flashing smiles. She signed the contract to be there and was counting the minutes till she could leave. Kenzie looked around and her eyes fell on the rock ‘n’ roll cowboy, Tucker McKay. Yes, the one who had records, awards, and looks which melt panties. As much as Kenzie wanted to stay far far away from this man, especially after what he said in an interview about her...she couldn't let it go. They had met during an industry thing and she felt there had been a real connection. It had been brief but strong so to have him throw her under the bus in that interview, it hurt. Seeing the opportunity to confront Tucker and hope he will explain, she approaches him.

4 - "I couldn’t think of a better way to spend the evening." Stars!

Burned out rock star Tucker McKay, is set to retire and return to his ranch to live a quiet life, his muse all but dried up and his interest in the fame game in general gone. That is until actress Mackenzie Bennett unceremoniously face plants in his lap, in one of the most hippest clubs in town.

"Whats in it for you..?"

Her star has lost a little of its shine too, and in an effort to stop its further dipping into obscurity, she agrees to a little fake relationship with Tucker. As you would expect fake starts to become real over a Christmas spent with Tuckers crazy family, but not everything is on the up and up with Kenzie and when the truth comes to light, she has more than a little explaining to do… Can Tucker forgive her..?

"This is different… You’re different."

A quick, predicable but enjoyably easy to read introduction to the Mile High Matched series. Having already read book two; Blow Me Away book one; Going Down on One Knee is on the radar to be read very, very soon.

Rock Hard Cowboy is a great intro into this new series by Christina Hovland. Tucker and Kenzie have an abundance of chemistry and they were extremely likable and engaging. For a short novella, this story kept me glued to the pages; and the endearing portrayal of both characters ensured that readers would be totally smitten with their romance by the end of the book. I look forward to reading more from this author.

This sweet novella features a rock star-slash-cowboy and a Hollywood actress who find themselves in a temporary, fake relationship for the cameras. Things quickly turn a little more real when they spend Christmas at his family’s home.

I love a good fake relationship story, and the concept of a Hollywood cameras-only relationship is an intriguing one. However, this is a novella and not a full length novel, so I felt like a lot of the story was rushed. The characters developed feelings for each other quickly and the story stayed pretty surface-level. If you’re looking for a quick, sweet read, this is a good example - just don’t expect the same level of character development you would find in a full-length novel.
