Sadly did not hold my attention and I did not find the tips or exercises to be particularly useful or helpful. Perhaps I’m not the right target audience, hope it is better suited for others!

As a former relationship coach, I unfortunately found the concepts shared for going from single to partnered too simplistic. Really, what can one change in five days? There were some helpful concepts that can contribute to attitudinal change, but I expected more from this former dating expert for About.com. 2 of 5 Stars.

Thanks to the author, BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for the review copy. Opinions are fully mine. Pub Date 18 Nov 2018. #FlipTheSingleSwitch #NetGalley

An extremely short book consisting of simple exercises that you are supposed to practice over five days. I read the whole thing in one sitting during a train ride and won't be picking it up again or doing any of the exercises.

The synopsis is misleading because it mentions several scenarios that anyone in the dating scene would have experienced e.g. ghosting etc but the book does not actually discuss any of these scenarios specifically. Instead, its main point is to alter your thinking and beliefs. This is a point that it keeps repeating in every chapter for all five days.

Not funny, not insightful, not useful. Yawn, next please.

I may not be the target audience for this, but there are some good tips in an easy-to-read format and some short homework exercises to help you focus and apply these tips over the course of 15 minutes a day for five days. I could instead perhaps apply these to boosting my self-confidence generally, or my job, with better results. It appears I'm simply not that interested in meeting anyone at the moment!

Easy reading about dating and changing your life from single to having a partner! To be honest I was expecting something more! But it's one of those books you can flip through on your bus journey

I requested this book from NetGalley on something of a whim, thinking it was vaguely appropriate with Valentine’s day approaching, and hey – who knows, right? ;)

I’m almost certainly not the target audience for this. Yes, I’m single, but pretty happy to be so, for the time being at least. I think this was aimed more at people who aren’t happy alone but who have been choosing disappointing possible mates. I’m not sure the advice works well for those of us more likely to be accused of being too picky (hah. More like downright antisocial ;)).

Interestingly, I think some of the process could be quite valid for other situations in life. If I take a step back and look at this as a book about building confidence and breaking bad habits in general, there are useful little nuggets. However, the focus on dating and particularly the last chapter (sit in a coffee shop and filter out anyone who looks appealing; your soulmate is in the leftovers? Hmm) left me a little more baffled.

On the plus side, this is kept nicely short so very little unnecessary waffle. If you are trying to break a bad dating habit, this might just work. Personally, I’m thinking of seeing if I can apply some of the techniques to snacking, vegging in front of the laptop, or generally boosting my life confidence.

I didn't connect with the advice or the writing style unfortunately.

This book may be exactly what someone needs, it's just that I am not that someone. My situation does not fit here.
